You are talking rubbish, even their own fans have praised him and expressed their unbelief at his treatment.Nobody has ffs.

Very generous. So he went from rotting the bench for a team finishing 2nd in an elite league and losing the Europa final on penalties, to rotting the bench for a team finishing 2nd in a mediocre league and losing the Europa final on penalties. And some people on here have the nerve to call this a successful loan.
You just know when you see something special in a player. I'd even argue, regardless of the level they play at. It doesn't even have to be anything outlandish, just a subtle movement or weight of pass. In Amad's case, I first saw it in our under 23 team. I have also seen it in some of his cameos for Rangers. I'm amazed at how under utilised he has been at Rangers. I didn't want us to loan him out in the first place. I think he is a better player than Elanga and would be our best right sided player currently. When did you see this?
So the coaches at Atalanta didn't think he was ready yet, Ole didn't think he was either, nor did Rangnick and nor has Van Bronckhorst but you have decided that he is based on reserve appearances? There's no doubt that there's talent there but there's still clearly a significant amount of development required, he hasn't played a full 90 minutes in a senior game yet. He needs another loan but the club will have to determine what standard of team he is capable of playing for to ensure that he will actually start games more regularly. You just know when you see something special in a player. I believe he is more than ready to get games here and there. Cameos, cup appearances etc. You say he needs another loan, but right now this club is seriously lacking in options. Sancho, Rashford and Elanga are all better suited to the left hand side. Yeah, one or two of them might be able to do a job on the right, but it simply isn't good enough. Amad is natural on the right, but it's up to the club to decide whether they would prefer for him to get guaranteed minutes elsewhere rather than compete for a spot here.So the coaches at Atalanta didn't think he was ready yet, Ole didn't think he was either, nor did Rangnick and nor has Van Bronckhorst but you have decided that he is based on reserve appearances? I think that's fair but I would imagine that another forward will be coming in, not necessarily on the right but that will mean his options will be limited. He needs to play games on a consistent basis, it's not ideal that he's going to turn 20 and he hasn't played a full game in senior football yet, so I would hope we find the right loan for him. There's clearly talent there but enough coaches have decided to go with other players ahead of him that it's not 1 coach being unfair to him. I don't particularly rate those coaches I must say coincidentally. But at Atlanta he was 18 and they didnt play with wingers, even then he was included. So the coaches at Atalanta didn't think he was ready yet, Ole didn't think he was either, nor did Rangnick and nor has Van Bronckhorst but you have decided that he is based on reserve appearances? I wouldn't say I rate them either but I know that they see him in training every day and are working with a lot more information than us on an internet forum and they've all come to the same conclusion. I'm also not sure that playing well in 2 dead rubbers at the end of the season is that significant, people were raving about Matic and Mata a couple of weeks ago because they played well in a nothing game against Brentford as if we hadn't seem them be bad enough times to make a more reasonable assessment.I don't particularly rate those coaches I must say coincidentally. He actually played very well for Ole in the last matches of 21/22. Injuries and daftness wasted a lot of his time.
Yeah we will see what happens in terms of signings. I imagine we will sign a striker, but I doubt we will sign another wide player. Even if we do, I'd be up for having Sancho and Rashford for the left, loaning out Elanga, then having Amad and the new signing for the right. Though I appreciate that the club might prefer for him to get more minutes elsewhere. Most teenagers still need development, it just requires a competent enough manager to give him a chance.I think that's fair but I would imagine that another forward will be coming in, not necessarily on the right but that will mean his options will be limited. Coaches have favourites, Amad has shown often enough he can contribute at this level. To me he has been terribly unfairly treated and I wouldnt be surprised to see him shine under a coach that values attacking football.I wouldn't say I rate them either but I know that they see him in training every day and are working with a lot more information than us on an internet forum and they've all come to the same conclusion. I'm certainly not writing Amad off, he's definitely got a lot of potential, but I'm just kind of baffled by people complaining about him not coming on tonight in such a big game or thinking that he can come back and contribute meaningfully next year. He needs to go and play games for a team where he will actually start.

He really hasn't.Coaches have favourites, Amad has shown often enough he can contribute at this level. To me he has been terribly unfairly treated and I wouldnt be surprised to see him shine under a coach that values attacking football.
That lad is a beast, the way he recovered after that slip and last ditch tackle was great.Think I’d be on the phone seeing if they fancy keeping him - and sending Calvin Bassey our way!

There are 1 or 2 who think that the experience of being in a title run was worth it, despite little playing time. In other words, anything to protect Scottish anything. McTominay, Rangers, whoever.Really?! I thought there was 100% agreement it’s been a waste of time?

I suspect you might know who defends mctominay to the hilt
No, I was hinting at the poster who said the loan was a success. I'm just guessing at his motives seeing as something as obvious as this (this loan being a failure) was still defended as successful.Eh? Diallo’s loan has been a success because McTominay is Scottish? I’ve read some weird shit on here over the years but that might top the lot!
AWB on the left? No thanks
Was going to say similar. Wasnt he the next Messi with the hype? A player bought as a panic buy along with Pellestri. We should offload the two and put whatever money we get towards this summers transfer chestI find it so odd that people talk about how he deserves a chance in and around the first team. If he deserved a chance, he'd get it. I understand that he was hyped to high heaven before he arrived but he simply hasn't lived up to it so far, yet some continue to cling on to this impression of him as some kind of wonderkid.
He seemed to be out of favour after the Celtic game - where he was quite simply the worst player on the pitch.Any young player will need the manager to have faith in him and give chances, GVB basically gave up on Amad for whatever reasons and this turned into a shit loan, that all there is to it really.
Amad still needs a loan where he consistently gets to play football matches at senior level, be at Championship, Eredivisie, Bundesliga, or anywhere else.

After that Kent also played himself into a fair bit of form.
I don't think GVB 'gave up' on Amad, i just don't think he rated him or saw enough from him to warrant giving him starts, as is a managers right.
Agreed. It's understandable that we as fans get excited when the club signs young, hyped talent but the reality is that it sometimes (often?) doesn't work out.Was going to say similar. Unless I'm missing something, he didn't play a ton of matches for Atalanta?Totally agree with you. There;s something special about this kid. I watched a ton of his Atlanta matches before coming to united and he had me more excited than any Youth signing we've made in recent years. He has that messi-esque centre of gravity that allows him to drop his body and go past people with ease. He's also a fighter, his strength on the ball and ability to shield belittles his age and my guess he'll be twice the player Elanga is.

Why would AWB be on the left?
He'd made 3 sub appearances totalling about half an hour, I guess maybe the poster meant youth games?Unless I'm missing something, he didn't play a ton of matches for Atalanta?
