Amad Diallo - Atalanta winger

It doesn't seem like he is ready to come in and start anyway but it seems like we left this one late as he'll join in January because of paperwork? Did he just become available last minute? Otherwise it looks like a case where the club left this one too late to complete the deal in time.
I think the loan deal with Parma failed and we decide to swoop in

I still wouldn't be sure it's happening if it's dependent on a work permit, knowing the government.

Why aren't Atalanta keeping him? Any reasons that i am not aware of it?
Some mugs have offered them €30m + add-ons for a player who 24 minutes in the Serie A, I think.

Anyone genuinely know anything about this kid?

Papu Gomez -: “He’s a future star, trust me. During our trainings he seems like Messi! You can’t stop him”. He played 25 minutes in Serie A and scored one goal
Fabrizio Romano - Traoré is one of the top young talents here in Italy. Atalanta have the best Academy so far.

Maybe he was simply third on our list? And we always planned on this if the other two didn’t work out?

Who knows maybe this ends up being a master stroke! Or is that being waaay too positive?
It seems like a signing we'd have made regardless of the Sancho/Dembele situation.

Feck knows and hopefully this is some kind of masterstroke.

Way too positive because due to our incompetence he can't play until Jan

‘Incompetence’ in this case being unwilling to sign him permanently? Or do you know more?
Incompetence in the sense that we didn't have anything concrete lined up if a chancy loan deal for him fell through.

That’s fair, maybe it is a master stroke, get him before he’s worth 100 mil!

Doesn't seem like a panic buy.

And he does look really good.

Only two and a half months, isn't it?
A short period of time but there are a lot of games to be played. Ultimately, I think it's somewhat irrelevant as I doubt he'd have played anyway but the optics aren't great.

What I don’t understand is why Atalanta wanted to send him on loan before we bid for him, if his talent is really as big as being described

Christ we've gone for it with this one. Very exciting as he's a massive talent but surprised to see us spend €30m for him now! Roll on January.

Because we are run by morons?

I think it’s important to remember, at all times, how little of a clue we have about what really happens. I’m really not a fan of all this damaging slander that’s been flying around baselessly.

January is right around the corner to be fair. He’s not gonna be starting anyway. It’ll be Greenwood this season, with Mata, Lingard, James & Traore popping up here & there.

Mate, we are fecking brutal RIGHT NOW.

Signing a young lad (talented as he may be) who can't play until January and will have to adjust is not the answer. We needed a starting RW, and allow Greenwood to rotate. Unbelievable.

I think its a bit on the high side tbh. However from what I've read this guy is mint ie Greenwood like good.

I saw a youtube clip of him and he does look pretty skilful. Hopefully, he can transfer that over here and adapt quickly when he finally joins.

Unfortunately, I'm not too excited about it yet since we won't see him until January. I do like these type of signings, though.

Or maybe the footballing people at the club had a deal with Wormwood. 'So you're saying you're totally confident BVB will budge. Well then if you're wrong and you can't get Sancho then you have to approve this 30m punt on this 18 year old that you've never heard of and that you've repeatedly refused to let us sign for the past twelve months. Deal?'

Can you imagine Priti Patel denying a black footballer a work permit?

Then again:(

He'll be perfect to come in and make absolutely no difference (not his fault he's just a kid) to the relegation fight we'll be in by January 1st.
