The only United player to do so.
Well we did tell him if he signed for us he would win trophies
The only United player to do so.
Well, yeah, possibly. Courtinho is a very good player- but like Bruno, he's highly erratic...I was replying to a post which stated I have a recency bias, in reality how much of his career at united has he consistently played well throughout the entire 90 minutes? Stats masked his crap performances, it's just the numbers aren't there anymore. I'd go as far as saying coutinho is a better player than him.
He does have an Irish flag next to his nameShould loan him to Celtic next year for the craic
How was he?
He’s much more frail looking than those two though. If Mata and Dan James can handle it..
He was all right. Some good moments but also missed 1 or 2 good chances. And Scott Wright arguably changed the game when he came on for him. He was far more positive and adventurous than Diallo who played it safe too often. How was he?
Bruno was definitely world class for the first 18 months for us. People have very short memories on here.
Sadly like so many others his level gets dragged down by being surrounded by players who don't try or players who are just not that good.
he reminds me a lot of AntonyHe definitely deserves a shot here. His off the ball work does look good and playing deeper he is very creative. Our very own Bernardo Silva in the making
Maybe he ends up there, but starting him off the flank might make for a smoother transition into the first team. It's harder to have the awareness of whats going on centrally and there's more opportunity for game time at RW, a position for which we have 0 players as it stands.I would like to see him in the middle, where Bruno plays. I think his loan was a good one, not a raving success but good experience. Was on the bench most games, played a few, scored 3, maybe his average minutes could have been more. He does look more confident, being hurled off at Celtic could have broken him, he came back stronger which tells me mentally he wants to get better. He also looks stronger, slightly bigger frame than when he first went there.
Oh I totally agree, AMC is too complex for a youngster unless they are an immediate star. I probably didn't make it super clear, I did mean eventually or gradually from now. I wouldn't chuck him there against City, but maybe a league cup game against Salford would be a start.Maybe he ends up there, but starting him off the flank might make for a smoother transition into the first team. I imagine he'll have pre-season with us like all of our other returning loan players and will have his chance to impress the new boss. A couple of our youngsters will do that and will likely be kept here with cameos off the bench and the rest will go out on loan again. Maybe he does well and features in the plans this season and maybe he doesnt.
Based on what I saw from his Rangers minutes I think a championship loan would be good.

Problem with another loan is the poor lad has had to play under so many different coaches/managers and their respective philosophies from Atalanta to Ole to GVB that his brain has got to be an ensalada of styles and instructions.
Playing at the championship then returning to ETHs philosophy in 12 months time would feck anyone's brain up
A lot of championship sides play good football these days. It really isn't kick and lump football like it once was.Problem with another loan is the poor lad has had to play under so many different coaches/managers and their respective philosophies from Atalanta to Ole to GVB that his brain has got to be an ensalada of styles and instructions.

Worked fine for Mount. I know he had a buffer period under Lampard before Tushel but he was already excellent for Chelsea that first season in the premier league after his championship loan where he was playing so well he got an England call up
It would mainly be so he gets used to physicality in the adult game and with lesser opponents than the premier league so he can stand out a bit more a bit easier than asking him to do it straight away against premier league players.
I still he think he will be one of the best in the world
I didn't really follow Mount's progress all that closely.
I think the stint up at Rangers would have done him some good. He gets to play in a structured competitive environment.
Also having being dropped for quite a few matches will show him that its not a linear path for him. I am sure his ego was over-blown coming over to United when he was considered in the top 5 best teenager in the world at that time. Then the U23 was just way too easy for him. And then the hiccups at Rangers.
I hope he is, but I imagine he won't be. He's our only left footed forward and in turn, our only natural right sided forward. He's a brilliant talent and one, much like Sancho, who will thrive under a more progressive and system oriented manager.Pre season and back out on loan as not ready.
I hope he isn’t being counted on as a first teamer by management.

He looks absolutely quality for his age.
Is nobody going to say it? Guess I will. It is absolutely wild that we spent 20m + 20m in add ons for a kid who pretty much had 0 exposure to professional football. And 1.5 years later he still has extremely little exposure to first team football. And seems to be a depth player at best for a Scottish team.
Time on his side but fecking hell, it's literally a waste of money unless he becomes genuinely world class in a few years. No other thing will make sense at that level of investment. It's not like we had close to a finished team. I'd be asking serious questions from whoever gave the OK for this deal, you arent paying for potential, you are paying full price for a player 3-5 years away from being ready to be just a squad player let alone a starting or top player. It was an incredibly dumb transfer. Up there with Bebe it has to be, with the exception that he actually has talent so he might turn into a decent player one day. But who decided we had 40m to spare to spunk on a random young kid who is 5 years away from being ready, if ever?
Is his talent really obvious though? Any time I’ve watched him I’ve never seen anything to suggest he will be a top player. Elanga looks to have more talent..
What position does craic play in?Should loan him to Celtic next year for the craic
