Looks brilliant but he needs to sort these injuries out. He's already had a lot since he arrived.

He was certainly one of the better players on the pitch yeah. The wingers were basically both the highlight.

Lots of impressive movement and touches which you won't see on highlights too.

There weren't any obvious signs of him being too weak for mens football that's for sure.

He has added a few kgs to his upper body the past few months, under the instructions of his coaches for sure.

Looked very confident every time he got the ball. He should be tearing that league up

Certainly wouldnt have been my pick for a loan, would prefer premier league or championship. Hope it works out for him though... I just feel like he'd need to be putting out Messi and Ronaldo numbers for goals and assists for it to actually mean something in terms of the United team. For example Ryan Christie was good in Scotland and he's now at 3rd placed Bournemouth in the championship. So he'd need to be better than good.
John McGinn was at St Mirren not so long ago and is now a proven Premier League player and Sancho was putting up Messi type stats in Germany and he has been shite in the Premier League so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you

2 games against Celtic, 2 against Dortmund and he's in a title race on an English-speaking team and their RW is out for the season. This is a perfectly cromulent loan.

He's never looked like that when he's played for us either.

It's the weird part in all this and all of the 'physical side of the game' stuff.

His highlights vs Wolves, Milan and Leicester are all similar performances. He hasn't had many other chances in the first team than those games as well.

It's crazy. At least the 'needs to bulk up/prove he can handle t3h 3nGli$h GaM3' stuff.

You could write a Monty Python sketch* out of it.

A: We have secured an assassin trained in the art of the dagger; he's slain eighty knights-
B: YES BUT HOW DOES YON SLIGHT KNAVE FARE AGAINST THE MIGHTY BROADSWORD.
A: ....I literally just told you that.
B: NO YOU DIDN'T
A: ....are you an actual fecking idiot**.

*with slightly more finesse than the included example.
**Edward Woodward or any variant thereof

Sending him to the Scottish League is so pointless ffs it's really not going to tell us anything about him we don't already know.

Yes, we already know that he will be in the 16 man squad for next season. He just needs to keep playing before cavani, pogba, lingard, vdb and mata leave.

Absolute nonsense this post.

Ran the show versus Wolves. Our best player in that game.

One of our best players be Leicester too.

And other than that he has barley played at all.

Best player in the under 23s every time he played too

my primary concern with him is if he was any good surely celtic would have been in for him?

He hasn't played regularly for some time and is likely rusty. But he showed glimpses of his touch and technique, which seems to be of a very high level. He scored the first and was involved in the second, and his involvement in the second goal demonstrates his natural suitability as a right sided attacker in the inverted mould, cutting on to his stronger left foot.

Impressive moments in the game

I vote for Adnan to be relegated.

And McGinn went to Aston Villa in the championship. Now proven at Aston Villa a bigger club might look at him, they certainly werent when he was at St Mirren. So even in your example there Amad would need to follow this Scotland loan up with another loan to a club like Villa were, which is pretty slow developing for someone we thought was incredible and we had to sign him.

Aston Villa are a big club now and I bet apart from the money side of things Grealish would be wishing he was still there.
When we bought Amad it was based on his potential and that is why the deal is structured so we have plenty of time to see it come to fruition......If we had done this with Zaha a few years ago we would have had a top winger on our hands after a couple of loan spells.

Incredible off the back of a couple of cameos in serie A?

Incredibly talented maybe.

We said he was the best player we had faced in the u23s, we spent £30 million on him as an 18 year old. We obviously believed he was going to be something special because as has been proven we dont have £30 million to throw around unless we think its a good investment for the first team. We werent good enough for that. We didnt look good enough for that and we havent been good enough for that.

Sounds like a talented player, not an "incredible" player.

We didn’t spend £30m on him. It was 19 (or less) with add ons.

If we were smart we’d of been looking at McGinn when he was at Hibs. It was quite obvious he could play at a higher level.

Im not sure why you are so strongly against this loan? The alternative seems to have been Feyenoord, and it’s not like the Dutch League is particularly strong.

I think we should be loaning players to Celtic/Rangers a lot more often. Winning a title and playing with pressure and expectations to win comfortably every week is what our squad needs.

Very excited to see how he handles Wednesday night. One of the biggest games in football and the table couldn’t be tighter.

I dont think those were the only 2 options. If they were its pretty alarming that other clubs can get good championship loans but we couldnt here. A top half championship team would have been great, plenty of good premier league players have been there right before establishing themselves in the premier league. And hopefully he could have been like Mount and take form there into one of the bigger premier league sides.

Bournemouth are the closest club to me after moving so I'm always up to date with them, I was also aware of Christie doing well before he went there and I had expected him to get a better move than that... If teams around Bournemouth's level dont want to take him on loan to help them push for promotion to the premier league it suggests to me that it'll be a long time before he's making a serious case starting for us. Thats what im concerned about.

This is the primary reason for having him there --- the experience of facing huge hostile crowds. We already know he has the skills, vision to succeed. But he is never going to face such environments in many other clubs/loans.

Think the add-ons could take it more to the 40 region even.
The up-front fee was around £20m according to Romano and the add-ons were around £12m. And with transfers fees being paid in instalments (especially on the continent), I doubt Atalanta have received the full up - front fee, never mind the add-ons.

So in total, Atalanta would receive about €40m if the player lives up to his potential. But if I was to assume that the money (up-front fee, £20m) was gonna be paid in 3 yearly instalments, then I'd say United only paid around £7m to sign him, with the rest of the money being paid in the remaining 2 years. Which is quite normal on the continent.

So you are saying that the incompetent United management paid like £135M for Amad including taxi fares, videographers, party streamers, diet cokes and cupcakes & muffins.

Agree plus they play in Europe. Actually in some ways better than championship due to the expectation. And for a player like Amad, I imagine the physicality will be good for him too. Plus he’ll get tons of games. Happy about this loan.

Match review from a Ranger's fan channel:

side note: Its interesting how much more accurate Google's subtitles are for a Scottish accent versus say a geordie or a Brummie.

St Mirren, with respect, are a step below rangers, who have a title challenge and some European football coming up. Regular football in the SPL could be really valuable for Amad.

If he was still here now, we'd probably hold onto him for the season given the Mason situation.

I'd rather Amad stays at Rangers and gets consistent games.

With Greenwood most likely being put on leave I think we can manage with Rashford, Elanga, Cavani, Sancho
