He won’t start unless it’s the final game of the season which im banking on it being. I think a few kids will get a game as usual and I can’t see him not being involved in that. They’ll be nothing to play for.
I’d take that! :D

Not saying he isn’t being integrated properly, but for the fee we paid I expected a player that could impact the game at least as a consistent sub.

He’s been used as a youngster that just came out from the academy rather than a 40M young star we just bought.

I just don't get Ole's reluctance to give him minutes. He'd rather persevere with Dan James who specialises in running into players, losing the ball, destroying attacks and giving away silly dangerous fouls.

A potential €40 million teenager should be getting more minutes considering the hype that followed him too. I know it's early days but he's been impressive during the appearances he's had.

The injury to Martial means Amad will be getting some game time soon enough as will Hannibal (who I could see being given some time on the left)

He's only gonna cost us €40m if he plays often and scores lotsa goals.

Ole Masterclass.

Either he is an option for the rw or we buy Sancho.

For the love of God get someone for the RW. Please please.

Insane....... Same folks you seen moping about other threads melting heads..........

He'll of cost £50m by the end of this page at this rate.

I think it was really naive to think he'd be the solution to the RW, which along with a proper CDM is the biggest priority for the club to perform better IMO. He's a kid, he's going to need time to adapt and I think Ole's making the right move, he knows what he's seeing in training. I'm sure he'll get some more minutes before the season ends but I have zero expectations for him right now.
Exactly. We have to be patient with him and let his develop. At the same time it is funny how people though we didn't need a right winger/Sancho because... we signed Amad and Pellistri. The position is still a huge problem and let's not have unrealistic expectations from the kids right now. Granted Amad is in the squad and may have a soaring rise soon, but as things stand he's got some way to go.

living Up to the username.

I’d like to see him given a start in the first leg vs Granada.

Every player in the world is a limited edition.

United buying a player worth £18m considered an established starter for his position would be a big joke.

We wouldn't want any of those players on our team. Rather get Amad who likely is ready for more involvements next year.

Makes us less desperate for someone like Sancho, who might still join us this summer for something like £50-70m when Dortmund realizes they have to get rid and we aren't falling over for him.

I didn't say we should buy a ready made star for £18m?

I said it would have made more sense to buy a more established right winger, which isn't outlandish I'm assuming you'd agree - as we've been playing out of position players there for god knows how long, which makes our attack lopsided.

Is Amad ready for first team football? Clearly not according to Ole, and that's fine but he should shoulder some of the blame for not targeting a more realistic player (Woodward more so).

So your theory is next year we're going to have Sancho, means Amad having to displace an established English International when he currently can't get minutes over Greenwood or James? Players get ready by playing football, if Ole had zero intention in giving him minutes he should have been sent on loan, the kid has played no football for a year during a key phase of development - now that blame falls squarely on Ole.

Let's hope he goes to a decent team on loan next year.

Are you living in 2012? 40m barely gets you a Diallo today

People still think Ole gives youth a chance at every possible opportunity. People still think he is brave. He isn't. And you can see it with Amad.

Amad might get more or a lookin, but Hannibal won't. Ole will go with James or Pogba in those roles first.

The Granada game is a great opportunity to start especially with Rashford struggling. Hopefully we'll put some more space between us and the others in the top 4 race and he can get minutes at the end of the season too.

I've not got a problem with his current lack of minutes.

The fee is the reason people are getting their head in a spin on this one, Diallo is a prospect for the future but I think his early appearances have shown he isn't ready to be starting for us yet.

I certainly wouldn't be risking him against Granada, we need our best eleven in every game in the Europa now.

Rightly so, we didnt bring in a first team player in a position we badly needed to fill this summer, so paying that fee for a prospect seems odd

If we get a result against Spurs on Sunday then that should be top 4 sealed and with slightly less pressurised games afterwards hopefully that will be a chance to give Amad some more game time (especially as we will want to have players fresh for the midweek games) but to this point I do understand why Ole has been reticent to go to a guy who I don't think has ever started a professional game and is still new to the team, I would imagine it's more a reflection of where Amad is currently than of Ole's mindset to taking risks.

I think in the PL there's probably concerns over him being physically ready, I'd like to see him get a start against Granada.

Expect him to come off the bench against Granada as we'll be starting with Greenwood, Cavani & James with no other options on the bench

What a waste the 55 mil have been so far. Hopefully our bench is comfy otherwise I fear losing him soon to some club who would play him regularly.

I look at this thread since yesterday and I see the same suspects who can't stand Ole come here and write some absolute crap. Do these dumbfecks even realise if he ends up being 37 million that means he has been a decent player for us. The fact that they don't even know what are add on clauses makes me wonder how do they are even allowed to post as full members.

All people are doing by hyping up this kid is actually undermining his chances for success, if he was good enough currently then he would be playing, it’s really that simple.

The coaches work day in and day out with these players and are tracked in every possible way, the attention to detail is incredible at top clubs and so they know when a player is ready.

We have clearly invested in potential, sometimes that works out and other times it does not, reign in your inner muppet and give the lad time to develop.

I think people here are mixing up the logic or spending a lot of money on a teenager and being ready to play first team football!

Diallo has obviously been identified as potential future superstar and thus is the reason we jumped in (maybe other teams were sniffing) However, his frame and lack of first team exposure at Atalanta means we’ll need be patient

Absolutely. I am still a bit amazed at the nonsense that gets posted in this thread. The boy has a lot of potential but anyone who can’t get into the Atalanta team is not going to walk into our first 11.

It’s great to see him get a few minutes and in the match day squads and it’s pretty clear that the intention is to try to fasttrack him but it still has to be carefully managed.

After a proper preseason he should be closer to featuring more often next year. Anyone expecting more or sooner is not living in the real world.

If Ole knew he wasn’t going to play him, he should’ve left him with Atalanta till the end of the season. He was starting to get into the team there. To bring him here and not play him is just ridding the kid of valuable playing time which he badly needs for his development.

Hes played more professional football at United in 2 months than he did in his whole career at Atalanta.

Amad is 18. And is physically tiny. He's talented, but was purchased as a future player. It was clear from day 1 that he's not been purchased with any role in mind this season, and nothing more than a fringe role next season.

In a pandemic yes considering we were telling everyone we couldnt afford to improve the squad in the way needed. We brought in 3 players who have hardly contributed this season for a fee that we could have used to bring in someone who could contribute

If Ole still sees him as not ready in pre-season, he should be loaned to a team like Sassuolo or Parma.
