Alvaro Morata | Real Madrid inform Juventus of their decision to salvage Morata's federative rights

He has good technical ability, dribbling and pace, but he's a very poor finisher. I can't decide whether i rate him or not, so, for what he'll cost, I prefer a goalscorer like Aubamayang. But this is just my opinion.

Is there any explanation for his lack of league goals? Haven't checked how many minutes he played.

Played 1456 minutes( roughly 16 full matches)
7 goals
7 assists
104 minutes per direct involvement on goal
208 minutes per goal

He had 26 starts, and another 21 games as a substitute. 12 goals, and 9 assists. Not as bad as I thought, but not worth the money quoted. Obiorahking_ stats above are for Serie A alone.

You are quite right, but he said league goals that is why.
I am quite frankly not interested in him for any price. We already have Rashford, Rooney, Depay, and Martial as capable backups.

I know he doesn't have a great goalscoring record, but i think he's way better than Welbeck. I wouldn't mind him here at all, but not at the fee being reported.

Can see him flopping in the PL due to the physicality. But i do see Chelsea breaking the bank for him this summer as their top signing

Personally would love to see Alvaro as the main man leading Atletico, thats the league where i can see him becoming a 30 goals a season striker.

Morata, Ibra, Embolo.....maybe we have found a buyer for Rooney?

Struggle to get excited over him. Reminds me of a young Higuain for some odd reason. Something there, just not quite "there".

I don't think he's looked any better than Rashford has shown. He's just played more games. His numbers are pretty crap actually.

If we buy Embolo I don't think we need him. We can play him as a striker if we need to.

The only attacker we should be looking at Juve is Dybala, not this guy

Something doesnt add up here. If we buy Morata, then either Ibra or Embolo wont arrive. I would rather buy the other two for 15m pounds, then Morata for a huge fee.

Happy for us to be linked to him in order to drive up his price for either Chelsea or Arsenal. Fairly underwhelming if we do get him, although by no means a bad option to have. If this in any way infringes the Ibra deal I'll be furious.

If any Spanish, Italian or German club buy a guy rejected by Real and Juve, they'll pay max of €12m.

He was not rejected by Juve, Madrid have a buy-back clause and they want to make some money on him. Juve said they would like to buy him back, but they don't have the money to compete with clubs like Chelsea and us.

He is a big lad himself, so physicality won't be an issue.

He's not exactly prolific is he? 7 goals in 34 last season in Serie A as Juve won the league easily and 8 in 29 the season before

Don't think he is no, however the stats are skewed as many of the appearances are as a sub.

I think if he came here as the first choice #9 he'd prove to be a lot more than people are tagging him with in here, he also would probably suit Rooney more than Ibra in terms of how he plays the role.

12 goals and 12 assists across all competitions last year. Similar production to what Mata gave us. His goal rate is twice is good as Mata.

Am i the only one who thinks he's incredibly average? He's obviously not a bad player but he's not even close to being prolific enough to be a starting striker at a top club.

This doesn't make any sense, we already after Zaltan and Embolo and now Morata? It looks like we are been linked with every player in the market today.

Think our name has just been thrown in so the price goes up, would rather have Ibra for a shorter time and hope Rashford develops.

Yeah, this.

Morata will ultimately decide his own destination among those clubs willing to pay a certain fee. He wants big wages (which United can obviously offer) and he wants to start a lot of games (which United really can't unless the Ibra deal falls through).

Chelsea (if they sell Costa to Atletico or Conte plays with two strikers regularly), PSG (if they don't buy someone like Higuain and they haven't promised Cavani that he'll be first choice in the center), and Arsenal (if the Vardy deal falls through and they are willing to pay Madrid's price) remain the most likely clubs.

Madrid can only buy Morata between July 1-July 15. And in all these scenarios there are other dominoes that need to fall into place, which may not happen until later in the summer. I think we'll hear lots of rumors about Morata, Madrid will trigger the clause in July, but his final destination won't be settled until late July or August.

If Real buy him back, they can't sell him till the next transfer window?

They can sell him immediately. But they can only activate the clause to buy him back between July 1 and July 15 (at least from what I have read).

This is an Arsenal signing all day long. Unless Wenger thinks he's too similar to what he's got like, oh, what's he called?

Somebody help me out here..

Sky are saying Real are looking certain to activate their £24m buy back clause to sell Morata for £38m. But why would another interested not just bid £25m to Juventus? (they would accept it because its £1m more) So then Morata could just have the option to move straight to that club rather than fart arse around with Madrid who just want to use him for money
