Ozil may fetch more scan votes.. that is the only reason he could be picked earlier here, Cazorla has been a better PL player in every other way.

Fernandinho next to Scholes and Lampard is a massive waste of two of the best midfielders in the draft.
I understand, still I find it odd that players known for being huge disappointments in the league have been picked, doesn't seem right at all.
After a quick scan, probably better than 8-9 players picked before him. Even discounting team limits, about 5-6 could've picked him earlier.

Carbone v Di Canio was a good debate at the time. I preferred Carbone but by the end Di Canio probably had the better career in England

Here's a riddle about one of them - pretty straight forward.

It's the 12th pick. It rarely matters and I've long since given up spending any time on a 12th pick. Unless of course it's a draft with tight criteria where it pays to get a back-up who can open the door for an upgrade to come into the team. All we wanted was someone left-footed with good technique who can play in a couple of different positions and set-ups. Ozil was the best man for that "job". Cazorla has done better in the Premiership for sure (and I was even bumming him a page ago) and was someone who we considered a few rounds back, but he's a different player.
