It's mental. Leaving tactical fit and versatility aside, I usually think of players in terms of Top 16s. For example, there will be usually be 16 leftbacks, so who are the Top 16 in the pool and how badly do I want the top ones, or to avoid the bottom ones, and what is the quality gap you risk by delaying...
Whether he is supposedly a striker or wide forward, he doesn't get into any Top 16, clearly. The fact he takes a United/Arsenal slot would require him being a top 10 in the pool, but instead I can think of ten unpicked players who are better options.
thats fair but he had a good game time at United and was a sure starter in all the big games....

Nope. He was a bit of a small club journeyman, which is never very helpful to a player's legacy, but at most of his clubs he was the best player on the pitch by a mile and the one who could produce an upset.

We did one guessing clubs, that's how it all started. E.g.
I posted a team no one had guessed during a lull in some draft and several months later he still hadn't got it. I even told him it was a team that had featured in the CL recently but rarely did, so off he went read up all the teams ever to play in the CL... and still didn't get it.

Yeah, that's the easy one. We usually posted three, easy, medium, hard. I'd say the Cole one is the medium (apparently) and in fairness to Blau the other one is hard. I still don't get how he couldn't crack it after reading through each and every CL participating team.
