Was just going to write it. You'd have been a favorite if it wasn't because you went for that Petit-Alonso-Mata midfield(which was great btw) and then decided to go for the Cole/Yorke partnership. I thought it shone through very clearly that your midfield was tailor-made for a midfield trio and one piece was missing.

Yorke and Cole was brilliant though. Both had very high individual peaks outside of United, both did it for smaller clubs and most importantly they were always going to be picked very late. Can only imagine the team you would have built if you had it in mind from the start.

I liked that trio and it all looked good until he picked Andy Cole, that was the turning point for me. Once @Tuppet picked Cole everything he was building went to shit and he needed Yorke to make him credible, which in turn meant he needed Anderton... and that Mata pick ended up being costly when he could have picked Harry Kewell instead.

This being a Premiership draft a team with Anderton, Yorke and Cole looked pretty special to me (unlike one going for another boring 4-2-3-1 make-believe story). It was a shame it was a draft of two halves as had he planned for this and got Kewell instead of Mata it would have been awesome. Both wingers and strikers could start a final in a 4-4-2 setup AFAIC, only Giggs-Beckham improve it and not by much of a margin, you would certainly reinforce elsewhere ahead of those tweaks.

Great game, @Skizzo @Pat_Mustard @Tuppet. It was deservedly close, and but for your left side, Tuppet, you could have swung my vote towards you.

Still though, Tuppet had lots of quality players and still had a great team, but for me, Skizzo's team looks phenomenal and pretty much favourites at this point.

Cheers for that. His side was definitely one we wanted to avoid. Was never going to be fun arguing against Rio, Cole vs Ronaldo, and that Anderton-Cole-Yorke trio was great considering when he pulled them together!

oh well, seems like a goner now. For what its worth, I think Nani is getting a really rough deal here, its like he never played on left or is invisible and left me with a man less. Anyway as a last throw of dice, Nani comes off for Mata, who is in a David Silva like role. So from left I have a wide playmaker and from right a classic right winger who would stretch the pitch.

I avoided commenting on this at the time as I had a vested interest in it going unnoticed but it was a good sub imo. It would have left Ashley Cole very vulnerable against a Ronaldo/Juninho overload but it might have been worth it as Mata would have been difficult to pick up and would have knitted together the midfield and attack nicely.

Great job @Tuppet Hard luck on the draw. Brilliant opener. Keep playing!

Congrats @Skizzo @Pat_Mustard!

Cheers lads. It was a relief to get through here but we're very happy with how we drafted. Just need to hope the reinforcements are favourable for us now.
