I can think of ten players I'd have picked ahead of AbD.
He's got an elite wk-batsman first up
AB is an interesting pick, absolutely incredible batsman but I am not sure about the idea of him as a keeper. He is definitely good enough to be the first pick just on his batting though.
This is ODIs, though. A different beast.
Let's hope so.
There's only 2 batsmen I'd pick outright over him, and another one who I'd have tied.
Reminds me of a recent football draft where someone tried to be too clever and picked Xavi ahead of obvious first choice pick in Ronaldinhio.
ABD is a top pick but when you play an ODI draft and get the 1st pick, you have to pick Sachin really.

I think it's much easier to find quality top order players in Odi's, AB will probably be the best number 4/5 slot so smart pick from that aspect as well.
AB is already in top 5 ODI players all time imo, might arguably end up best ever by the time he retires. And is a WK...
Yeah.. right.. if ABD is top 3 ODI batsman of all time then a certain current Indian batsman should be picked soon as well.

You can only smash what's in front of you, ABD is taking the game to a new level.
That's just plain nonsense.
And I'd be surprised if the certain player is not picked soon either. Both of them are clearly word class players and would have been in any era.
Except for nobody else is doing it or has ever done it as destructively as De Villiers. Fastest ODI century, fastest 150 and at that consistency.
AbD is world class but he's no way near top 3 ODI Batsmen of all time. C'mon people!
Pitches, standard of bowling, boundaries etc makes this era a joke for batting IMO. Tendulkar in his prime was just a different beast to AbD.
I'd agree but you add in the fact he's a WK and I can sort of see why he's been picked first.
