Quite surprising... Didn't realize Dravid's stats outside of #3 were quite this good. That #5 stats really took me by surprise.

Dont like your openers at all, very hit and miss. Da Silva and Root are good middle order batsmen to build the innings and with matthews and buttler the runrate shouldnt suffer that badly near the end of the innings. Get another hitter in there and you are good to go!

That's my concern too. They're complimented by my very solid 3 and 4 though.

Severe lack of hitters imo. Bowling is very good but not sure it makes for the batting.

As MJJ said, your openers are very unreliable. No solidity there. You could have one game where they score 120+ or another where they both are dismissed inside 40. I love Da Silva. Ably supported by Root, Buttler, Mathews, keeping runs going shouldn't be a problem at all.

Not so sure about the bowling though. Hard to judge Ajmal. Gillespie is decent but maybe a little unspectacular. I always thought of him as more of a test specialist (Though I might be wrong). Donald is well Donald.

Your MO in a test match would win you any match comfortably but Bevan alone as a hitter won't suffice I reckon. Awesome bowling though.

5 down and you are already reached the tail. Not ideal imo.

1. It's de silva. :p

2. Yeah openers are volatile. I think buttler opens? Maybe put Watson down to 4 or 5?

I think you have strength in depth but if you can find a match winning batsman and front line bowler as your batsmen are best as complimentary players and Gillespie is good for first change

Batsmen win ODIs.

AB had another usual day in office today, 29 ball 71. Coming soon in a draft game near you...

De Silva has a poor record outside of the subcontinent like pitches.

Averages 18, 21, 27 and 28 in Eng/NZ/SA/Aus.

Root is KM's best player for me.

@Skizzo, if you can make your pick quickly, I think we can speed this along. Almost everyone above you is online and most likely have their picks ready.

Will wait for half hour more, after that, if there is someone I can PM our pick to, please let me know.

Bowlers are critical, no doubt. But a weak batting order won't win you too many ODIs regardless of bowling quality
Well weak batting can't win you tests as well. Generally good batsmen are more available than bowlers hence bowlers being decent becomes more critical.

This is maybe my opinion and I am sure many will disagree. But I used to think a superior bowling can win you a test match, but a superior batting wins you the ODI. It's hard for any bowler in the world, even the best to affect that much change with the white bowl.

Clutch bowlers are vital. What better way to stop the flow of runs than taking wickets...

Yes, a weakass batting line up won't win tests. My point is that batters are more critical in ODIs where bowlers can bowl only 60 balls max. That's where you win close matches. If any dept is shit, you lose anyways.

I agree with you. Bowling lineups win you a close test, batters win you a close odi.

Waqar yes. Malinga got a lot of whacking iirc in those final 10 overs. But I still love your bowling line-up. Strongest one of all the one's posted so far.

Walsh has an average of 30.31 in ODI. And SR of 47.31. Not that great.
