Yeah good point. It's a good draw for both of us. One negative however: Whoever gets through won't be able to take the losers best player i.e Messi and Maradona.

I'm very chilled. At the beginning Aldo was being a dick in the last thread though, was bizzare the way he kept attacking NM's team and not mentioning Isotope at all.

I was kidding, but am hoping the match will be played on a weekend. Work days are long (15-16 hours sometimes) for me so it will be hard to debate.

You never know, it may actually be wise to have both options, but you will only be able to tell once both teams are complete and the next rival is drawn.

Wow, some draw that. Very difficult draw for me but possibly prefer gettin Brwned to Anto or Theon, as i don't think i'd have the energy for either of those! No doubt he'll be lookin to get his hands on Van Basten should he go through!

I'm on the US on EST so I already struggle due to time difference - that's why Theon spends so much time in the thread.. This week is horrible for me.. I'm assuming the draft will take at least a day or 2.. so we will be at the end of the week.. I really dunno - it all bd. Weekend = best but your not there.. Other than that on Friday and Thursday I can give maybe a few hours.. Other than that.. I'm fecked.

Exactly. That's what has me miffed with NM, little I can use there and I would have rather had the chance to pick up Messi, Maradona or Di Stéfano than Pelé. With the Argies they cancel each other out, with Pelé you miss out on bags of quality all over the fecking pitch.

Vote-wise probably would have as people would have a clearer picture of him paired with Rijkaard as the meanest pairing ever.
In practice, I rate Beckenbauer higher in almost every facet of the game. Matthaus would be a more "steely" option, but with Rijkaard already there I fancy this as a better partnership.
Rijkaard can focus more on the destruction/man-marking/all-action stuff, while Beckenbauer provides elegance and class in the build up, as well as first-rate/best-ever covering for the back four. Technically he is the superior player by some distance, but if needing the battling type I would have picked Matthaus.
Overall, both Stobzilla and I got the right player out of the two.
I wanted Maldini myself but everyone else thought it was a no-brainer. I appreciate that Baresi's the standout defender in the draft on reputation alone but there's still some quality centre backs and very few quality fullback. McGrain against Best is unlikely to go down well...
