Surprised at the lack of Tostão
Very difficult to fit in. There's also Gerson, but I don't think he could live with a present day midfield.
Hard to definitively say who was better for me, as I haven't seen a great deal of Mcniell aside from that European campaign.
Carvalho was good, better than Terry, but I'v never been a huge fan.
Who would pair up with Passarella better? I'm inclined to say Mcniell...

In my defense I was in a huge mess at that time with Scots, Irish, Northern Irish, Welsh and Englishmen spread all over the place.
Martin Peters was a pretty functional player all things considered, Deschamps himself is lacking real class on the ball and there are no out-of-this-world #10's to make up for it. Though I do like Deco. It's just a very uninspiring engine room.

Play Giles and Deschamps. Add Deco in for Law if you think you need an extra midfield body but IMO the gulf in class between Law and Deco is pretty significant so you're better off keeping Law in whenever possible.
Gento as a winger in a 442 will attract criticism.
It's good if you have managed to pick better players (in your opinion), just don't be blatantly disrespectful. That is all.

Agreed. Takes a lot of time and everybody has done a great job in sticking this out. Plus I haven't had as much enjoyment out of a thread in months, it's been a cracking read.

Will people appreciate that? The feck they will. He has no caps.

I wouldn't be confident against anyone but I'd most like to play Cutch simply for the possibility of adding van Basten to my side. I've got room for a Dutchman, Italian and Spaniard without moving my team about so that'd be a nice start.
