There is another left-back from there I'd rate higher, but sound pick, as good as anyone post Maldini.

I'd have gone for Casillas. Zamora may well have been better, I have no idea, but voters would relate to Iker.

Right, this is gonna seem like a crazy selection but I've had serious doubts since pick 8 on whether I've selected the right german keeper. Having looked through Oliver Kahns individual honours I think it'll be a lot easier for me to sell him to the average voter, even though Meier is possibly held in higher esteem historically. Kahn was undoubtedly the best keeper in the world at one time, and so good at the start of the 2000's that he was 2nd in the World Player of the Year, pretty much unheard of for a goalkeeper.
