I guess I'll give my vote then. I agree with Paceme that with Sammer dropping into defense, it has given him the control of midfield and has put your defense under constant pressure. And with Gullit and Batistuta being players who can completely take CBs out of the game, any knock downs would be extremely fatal with the runs being made by Schuster and Socrates. And given that much time in midfield, I am sure Socrates or Schuster can come up with a moment of magic after trying a few times. Your midfield is hardworking, but lacks steel at the moment and hence my vote goes to art lover Paceme.

Antohan suggested bringing on Busquets, I guess he had the same concern as me that it lacked a bit of ball winning ability. Nedved as the AM with Busquets and the Magyar controlling midfield would look more assured IMO.
Busquets should be playing in that set up, undoubdetly for me.
He could go forward, and occasionally did, to good effect indeed, but nowhere near as much as Nilton. I would consider him more a Thuram (the sort we saw on a bright WC semifinal day) than a Cafú, although I'm thinking mostly '58, maybe he was more adventurous later on. Or maybe it was just Garrincha leaving him too exposed and making him prioritise defence rather than express himself.
Seems I'm not alone then. Nedved-Valderrama-Bozsic looks like an excessive emphasis on creativity, yet I can't quite figure out what it would stack up to. I would definitely get shot of Valderrama and stick Busquets on there.

Agree that Busquets would bring more balance, although there's merit in Nedved being left of a three to enable him to carry out some of that effective hard running into fairly empty flanks.

Such a see saw battle. There's been one vote separating pretty much the whole way through
I can see Paceme scoring through Gordillo getting forward and swinging in a deep cross for Batistuta / Gullit to attack. Both of them are better in the air than Sammer and Scirea. Similarly, can't see much resistance from Socrates and Schuster to prevent Lizarazu and Nedved from moving up and working something intricate with Messi and Schiaffino.
Deadlocked again.

Disappointed that no one gave thier views on how Sammer as sweeper and Scirera as CB would function. I was thinking to do something similar with my team but concluded that people would think its a waste of one of them, in this case Scirera?

I prefer Km's 3-5-2 but felt Figueroa - Baresi had a better blend of qualities to deal with Messi - Schiaffino than Sammer - Scirea - Pophlar possessed against the dynamism and aerial punch of Bati - Gullit.

Djalma Santos is arguably the greatest attacking full back ever, and started the great tradition of flying Brasilian full backs.
I've heard differently. I've never seen a video though but I've heard he was a brilliant defender more than anything.
