No, but I remember this one. The giveaway is the way all the players lined up running in celebration. It was relatively easy though, there were 3-4 moves that always ended up in goals.
And there was a Nintendo one where players' eyes popped out when tackled hard, then they stayed dead on the pitch for a while... one where the keeper always invariably jumped AWAY from the ball, for some reason.
Looked it up last night and can't stop playing since. It's all rather basic, but great playability and memories. It came out the Summer before the '86 World Cup. No FIFA license but the colours were enough:
1st Group Game: Scotland - walk in the park
2nd Group Game: Poland? - easy peasy, I loved dragging the keeper and making him go walkabout before walking the ball into the net
3rd Group Game: Brazil - good dribblers and burst of pace, terrible defenders
Second round: France, people fancied them as Italy because it was the first time you find a proper keeper and can't just score for fun, but they were deadly upfront, more so than some in future games.
Quarters: could be France away but I fancied them as England, this is where your run usually stopped and you would have to restart. Boring dull game in which everything you were doing before stops working.
Semi: Uruguay, clearly, I remember the Argies were incensed at their omission and argued it was because the pixels didn't allow for striped shirts. I don't think any of you realise that before that WC it wasn't a given that they were up there, let alone better than Uruguay. All they had won was a WC at home, with refs and rival players under all sorts of pressure and Peru conceding 6. This was usually winnable in that if you had beaten England you had worked out a more refined game than that of the group stages.
Final: Germany. An arse, they hunted you down in packs of 4-5 players and you never got a breather.
It's only 6mb and
you can get it here, just be aware there are no penos. Draw = loss.
