Definitely. He's the odd man out in terms of having a big name (for modern voters, at least). He's famous enough as such, but clearly not on par with yer Charltons and whatnot.

Hopefully he will rise a little on the caf with this draft. Always the case, you pay for the skill level of the player - and then you pay for their reputation.

Yes I agree. Someone winning this due to C.Ron or Henry would be meh so foreign player quota has been scraped.

Give the lad some lee way! He's doing loads of work for no real benefit for the draft to work. There will be a minimum of one more issue which requires rule changes here.

The draft has 15 players per round - 10 rounds - then two snake rounds. That means we are lacking 15 players - for everybody to complete their teams with the minimum of 12 players.

It also means if someone decides to buy more than 10 players in the auction - it will push teams to defaulting as they can't reach the quota of 12 players in their team. So we will need to add either more auction rounds after the draft until everybody has 12 players - or include 16 players per round(1 each) and ban teams from buying more than 10 players in the 10 auction rounds.

Yes. This will be address in future rounds. We will have 15-16 players instead of 12.

Edit .. this one has 15 already!

Please keep this rule in mind before making future bids

  • A minimum of 2m increments are required for new bids for first 4 hours from current bid time of a player. From 4-10 hours it is 5m minimum increment. For last 2 hours a minimum of 10m increment.
This means any bids on Edwards will have to for or more than 5m.

I think it's valid. Last I bid was at 14:30 today and in the copy/paste/update shuffle seem to have reverted back to original time.

No point withdrawing a bid but I dont think rules should be changed midway through the draft. Still you are the game master so your call.

I really don't mind the foreign players being removed at all and it makes more sense with this being a British draft but just concerned about the 6 English players in the first team rule.

I thought having a foreigner or two will offset this problem a bit. Will the Irish and Scottish pool be deep enough (no offense) to have 5 players in each team or should we allow one or two more English players into the team?

With twelve managers and the whole of history to choose from, I really don't think that should be a problem. We're talking about sixty players or so - spread out across twelve teams - from Ireland, N-Ireland, Scotland and Wales. So, fifteen Scotsmen across the history of football? No problem whatsoever - you wouldn't have to go scraping any barrels whatsoever there. Slightly more problematic with the other nationalities - but not really a problem, IMO. And certainly not if the idea is to showcase players who normally aren't given the chance to shine.

Might consider going up from six to seven England players, I suppose - that would take care of any semblance of a problem, as I see it.
