All ticket/travel information thread - 2009/10: Touting will not be tolerated

I thought Viagogo only touted... sorry sold tickets... no right first time, touted tickets if the game was already a sell out? I can't remember, but I'm sure games like Bolton and Blackburn weren't sell outs?

They do. After the ballot has been done, viagogo open their sales. But then you get people returning tickets to the club meaning they are not sold out but viagogo still sell.

Not gonna get in the debate over whether what you are doing is right or not. My issue would be with Viagogo not you. I think the fact they are allowed to operate is disgusting.

No it's not. They are the official partners of United and have permission to re-sell STH tickets with these fees added on. It is the only way to buy tickets legally after the ballot has been done and you have received your usual chubbing.

What I would say though is that your point about legality is completely moot as you yourself are breaking the terms and conditions buy selling them on.

I hate it as much as the next person. And yes I suppose so, but then again so is selling on tickets directly from the club or even season tickets; they're only meant for the name on the ticket.

I don't always buy off viagogo. Check the posts you quoted idiot, it's only the big games that are off viagogo, ie when I can't get them from the club direct. My tickets for Burnley are direct from the club. And our minibus guy can't take us if you really want to know why we have all the spares for this.

Haha this shows how much you know. Member applications have nothing to do with loyalty or how many games you have bought on your membership. Each game is a one off ballot. And I have been rejected in the initial ballot for every home game I have applied for this season bar Wigan. So no, you're talking bollocks.

There's a loyalty pot scheme in place. WTF are you on about. It's been like that for years!

I can't be the next person then as I refuse to use Viagogo just like I refuse to use any other tout.

Yes I realise that. But you can't use the argument that you are using Viagogo as it is the only legal method then sell them on yourself. Seriously, you should ask around on here for tickets before using Viagogo as there have been so many spares kicking around for games this season. Twice I've been sorted out on the day of the match and have had to turn down tickets on numerous occasions.

I am pretty certain that he has no intention of going to games. I don't understand why he gets the tickets? You'd find spares anywhere if you want to go. Even TO on the day.

Out of interest do you go to matches? I don't mean this in a having a dig way, it just seems that you know about the availability of tickets but not the applciation process which seems weird.

Like I said, I only use viagogo for the bigger games.

And by legally, I meant more as in it's an official channel and guarantees my ticket to the match.

Again, you can feck off. I would bet my left ass cheek that I have been to more games than you, so don't say I don't have intention of going to games. I get the tickets for us to go to matches, but sometimes things come up. And as I go with quite a few lads, the chances of something coming up is more likely.

Yes I do. I know there's a ballot but I thought that everyone was placed in one and whoever got tickets was based on a loyalty pot like Euro aways.

I was pretty certain that the only loyalty pot we run is for the Euro Aways and even then it's only used if we get to a semi or final, or have a small allocation in a not too distant CL away, for example - Celtic or Rangers where we are more likely to have more applications than the allocation.

NextSeason, either your the unluckiest person to apply via OU or you are not being entirely honest, as I have applied for every home game this season (League and Cups) bar one against Sunderland via my OneUnited membership and got every single one, even with as many as four applications for one game.

Again, Wrong.

The only loyalty scheme the club runs is for European away matches. All other applications are done through ballots.

You've got that badly wrong mate!

Although there were rumours circulating earlier in the season that the domestic away loyalty pot had been ditched... alas not

Yes it's ballots, but loyalty pot members have a far far better chance of success than your average non loyalty pot season ticket holder

It's also a closed shop apparently

Personally I think they ought to revisit the whole thing, I'm not a fan of it

Yeah I've heard this as well. A lot of people go as far to say as the only season tickets worth their money are the loyalty pot ones.

Exactly. I haven't applied for all games, but I haven't been chubbed for any this year.

I have thought for years that there was a loyalty pot in place. In seasons that I got to more games I didn't get chubbed for big games, in those that I didn't I got chubbed for big games. Coincidence?

To be fair I have only applied for about 7 games including Arsenal and City. I just wait til returns as they have them for every game pretty much.

I thought that you needed to apply to ever away to increase your chances of getting other aways? It's not a proper loyalty shceme like other clibs run, going to 1 game does not guarantee you tickets to another. It merely increases your chances. If I'm wrong then I stand corrected.

The loyalty pot isn't a guarantee of a ticket, like I said it's still a ballot. But your chances of getting a ticket are vastly increased. And to be in it and remain in it you have to apply for every domestic away. Miss it once and you're out. And I believe it's a closed shop

I thought this system was used for every type of ticket. As I said, when I've been to more games in a season I haven't had problems getting tickets for big games. When Ive been to few games I haven't been able to get for big games. I don't think it is a coincidence that this has happened for years now.

My 2 seats are available for......

Burnley - Sat 16th Jan 3pm ko
Hull City - Sat 23rd Jan 3pm ko

Seats are in E236 (East Stand Upper, Tier 1)

You can collect the tickets from my mate Robin, who also posts on the Caf, from outside the ground on the day.

Tickets are £35 each, but can do a bit of a discount for the Burnley game as its late notice.

Still got 2 tickets going spare for Burnley on Saturday 3pm.

PM Me. Can do them for a good price at its short notice.

It is. It clearly states in the application/ticket info that each game is a complete one off ballot and previous attendance means nothing.

Two North Stand lower concessions (Seniors) for Burnley. £20 each (would be £45 each if they weren't concessions).

He needs to register the OU membership with the Travel Club here.

The ticket will be posted by Special delivery to his house. Then he can send it to you.

The Italian Government, for example, has made it a legal requirement for all spectators to provide name, address, date of birth and passport details. Other countries are likely to follow suit and UEFA are looking to introduce a similar scheme themselves in the future.

Is this going to be a problem regarding Milan away?? I remember the same thing when I got tickets for Moscow(final 08) from a another person but then there wasn't any names on the tickets..

They've never checked names against tickets at a United Euro away, despite promising on various occasions. It would be mayhem (well it's mayhem anyway, but it would be both mayhem and impossible). And the tickets will not have names on in any case.

OK, I have a problem. I need a single ticket for the Burnley game but can't get to the ground until probably just after kick off so can't really pick up on the day. I live in Lancaster so if anybody within reasonable distance could sort me out tomorrow evening, or on the way to Manchester first thing (before 10am) on Saturday, I could collect then.
Can anybody help me out?

Checks are impossible when you have 5000 United fans turning up at the last minute. Not only that but the tickets most definitly will not have names because they'll be printed from AC Milan anyhow. Even when there's been names, like last years final, no one checked, and not only did they not check but some lads I saw were getting tickets passed back from their mates, trying them on the turnstile readers, and then complaining that it wasn't working. Stuards there checked that the ticket was valid and simply let them in.

I think the travel report that you fill is sent to the Italian government but I'm not sure.
