All ticket/travel information thread - 2009/10: Touting will not be tolerated

How times have changed at OT in the last couple of years, eh? Wasn't that long ago that tickets for weekend league games and CL group matches were like gold-dust. :(

Any chance there is a Wolfsburg ticket going. Ticket and cash transfered outside ground on the night of the match is my only option unfortunately.

I'd give you my ticket as I can't make it. Unless you're currently in London Village however, I've no way of getting the ticket to you.

Can you post this in the mains for me? In the ticket exchange thread.

May have a spare for the Wolfsberg match.

Face value or just below which is around £30-35.

I'm going but my dad aint so I can meet at the ground on the night no worries

Pitch level seats. Few up from the corner flag - Check the picture

PM ME :)

Cheers

PM Moultz in the newbies if you're interested. He seems like a nice lad.

Pretty sure you would be able to replace the name on that with 90% of Premier League teams this season!

Moscow away. Been reading up on the visa, not 100% sure but those who have been am I right in thinking you won't be granted a visa without a hotel booking confirmation?

What's the best pub to go to before the match again (I'll be with the missus)?

Depends what sort of drink. If you want singing and stuff the Blaize (you have to queue to get in), or the Trafford (go through the beer yard at the back).

Quieter pubs are the Quadrant and the Tollgate (where the cool kids hang out).

Frankly your best bet is a few tinnies outside Lou Macari's chippy.

5,800 for Barnsley at £25, thank God we got an away tie, this should be fun just like Derby away last year, and probably those that cant normally get away tickets will be there, bring it on !!

What's the best way to get to the ground from Piccadilly - is the tram running yet or is the bus a better option?

I usually just get a taxi from outside the Station with 3 or 4 other people. Takes maybe 20 minutes at the most and if there's a few you're perhaps looking at £2 to £3 for the journey.

Tommorow will be first time at Old Trafford, first of many hopefuly. I've made a search on the best way to get to the ground from Piccadilly station and the tram seems the best option. However, I'm not sure after the match it'll get me to the station in time for my train which leaves at 7:50!. Anyone knows who long is the journey?

EDIT: Just read Elvis' post, I think i'll consider a taxi after the game.

750! your prob best rushing out at or before the end and getting a bus or a taxi, a ssumin the game will finish at 715 you should be ok, bus will drop you off about 5 mins from picc

Thanks Bread. I'll rush out right at the end and get a taxi. A taxi is the safest option, i don't wanna get in a bus and hope its the right one, as I always do hehe.

I've decided i can make the game tomorrow, but i've only got a tenner.

So if anyone for some reason has a child spare, let us know ta.

Cheers :D

A taxi after the game is certainly NOT the safest option.

I'm not sure how feasible getting a taxi after the game is going to be to be honest mate. You could be waiting for hours trying to get one and then you have to deal with the matchday traffic.

Your best bet is to catch the train (not the tram) from under the South Stand (queue in the South Stand tunnel). One goes on the final whistle, one 20 mins afterwards, but they are quicker than the tram or a taxi, reliable, and take you into Piccadilly station.

How do you find out when results are out? I will probably get blackburn tickets, but don't get paid for a week, and will get rejected if they're out before then.

Thanks Ralphie that was really helpful. I've decided to take the train to Oxford Road (turns out i can catch my train from there with more time to spare). A website says the station in the south stand is unstaffed and no ticket machines!. I'm hoping to get a ticket in my free time before the game.

There are turnstiles you have to go through to get on to the platform, you can pay in cash.

Any spares for the Everton game would be appreciated. Looking for 2 if possible.

I'm a fairly young looking 20, what are my chances of getting in off an Under 16 ticket in the South?

It wouldn't matter if you were a shite looking 45 year old, you'd still get in on it.

Never tried it before myself. Some of my mates have gotten in easily before with u16. Ye reckon it's a banker?

Hate to be a wet blanket but saw a girl turned away at city game who was trying to get in on child ticket.Warned her it was an offence that was liable to prosecution

Really? We've been using OAP tickets for about 15 years and have never been challenged.

So the consensus? Should I take this ticket up? I heard before that it doesn't flash orange when it scans in the East

I had NEVER had any problems at all using OAP and u16 concession tickets until last Wednesday against Wolfsburg. I got in, but my mate was stopped and asked to show his ticket outside W16. We used the excuse another mate had used before in a different part of the ground, that his brother had gone on in earlier as he was in the pub and obviously messed up the tickets but the steward was having none of it. Asked him to ring his brother etc, and obviously as most will know there is more chance of an atmosphere in the South Stand than getting signal in or around OT on match day.

Like I said, I personally have never had a problem but though I'd let you know as this only happened last week.

EDIT: Also, the light definitely DID flash orange when I walked through, luckily the woman in the turnstile box was facing the other way.
