RONALDO WILL USE DIRTY TRICKS TO FORCE MOVE

Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly attempt to force a move to Real Madrid without formally requesting a transfer from Manchester United.

A fresh wave of speculation about Ronaldo dominates the Sunday papers, with Fleet Street unanimous that the Portuguese forward is intent on leaving Old Trafford. However, it remains to be seen exactly how he will achieve his 'dream' move to Madrid.

According to The Observer, Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, 'has been mandated by Real to offer a cash-plus-player deal. Brazil's Robinho and Wesley Sneijder of Holland head the list with which Real hope to tempt Sir Alex Ferguson, with the Spanish club's opening offer expected to be €40 million plus one of the two. Ronaldo, due to go on holiday, is said to be confident that United will accept that his departure is inevitable.'

The Sunday Telegraph goes further, predicting that Ronaldo will use 'dirty tricks' to engineer the transfer. While the player is not keen on making a formal transfer request due to the financial penalties such a course of action would bring about, 'Madrid's argument is that if they are willing to pay up to £70million for him and then pay a net weekly wage of £150,000, both of which are true, then his specific obligation is to keep on making life close to unbearable for United.'

But will there be anyone at home listening? As The Mail on Sunday points out, 'When Ronaldo returns to England this week for his foot injury to be assessed, there will be no one on hand at United with the authority to deal with the issue of his desire to go to Spain. Ferguson has told friends he will not break his holiday in the South of France, while chief executive David Gill is also away, leaving Ronaldo, Mendes and Real sweating on the deal they are so keen to strike.'

Is it right that SAF and Gill are still on holiday. Seem to have been away a long time.

Nothing we can do in relation to courts, etc, i'm afraid. We've been guilty of this ourselves before by signing other teams stars even when their clubs didn't want to sell. Difference is we didn't resort to underhand tactics through the media, but then again our mere interest has resulted in the players wanting to join us no matter what, so the end result is the same.

We've been bullies before i'm afraid. Madrid's just bullying the bully. We'll just have to live with the fact that we're not universally recognised as the ultimate club team to play for.

We probably do have tactics as do all other clubs, but madrid's tactics are the worst by far and if we or any other club pulled the crap they did, we'd be punished. It's outrageous

Real ready Ronaldo offer

Real Madrid head coach Bernd Schuster has revealed the Spanish giants will pay Manchester United 'what is necessary' in order to secure the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The two-time PFA Players' Player of the Year is expected to make an official announcement on where he sees his footballing future in the coming days following intense speculation linking him with a move to the Bernabeu.

United have stood firm over the Primera Division champions' well-publicised interest, insisting that they will not part company with the Portugal international.

However, recent rumours have claimed that Ronaldo is set to reveal his desire to leave Old Trafford with Real poised to swoop for his services with a reported record-breaking offer.

Key to Europe

And Schuster has hinted that Real are prepared to spend lavishly in order to acquire Ronaldo, with fresh claims suggesting the club may offer a fee in the region of 100million euros (£79million).

"For such a player we will pay what is necessary because what counts for us is to win the UEFA Champions League," Schuster told DSF.

Schuster also said that he fully understood United's strong will to keep hold of their prize asset after the Old Trafford club reported Real to Fifa over their pursuit of the winger.

"When you have a player of such quality you don't let him go," added Schuster.

Since money is no object to them, I hope we can ripped them off really hard, for even £100m.

I can only imagine what Everton fans thought of United when we swooped for Rooney.

They're so boring. why oh why do they keep talking bollocks and not just make us an offer......I know they want to lower the price but fecking hell, they're acting like fools. Just make an offer so we can reject it..idiots

I can only imagine what Everton fans thought of United when we swooped for Rooney.

Do we have a paper called marca? We're no angels, no one is but what madrid do by talking to the family, making up stories everyday, asking for quotes from their players, getting madrid supporting reporters to ask him non stop questions, giving him a poster to sign etc....no we're not in their league

The thing is too, because alot of it is behind closed doors (as it should be) then how can everton fans say anything? Rooney wanted to move. Madrid are much more manipulative

Everton fans surely must have been confident because he was an everton fan, but the train only comes by once....:lol:apparently

I still think we can prolong the agony though to make it difficult for it to happen again. Otherwise we've got Teveth, Nani and Anderson likely to take the same road.
Most Latinos and non-English speaking countries over here in Central and South America regard Madrid as the bees knees. It's just built into them. Nothing's ever going to change that.
The only one who will lose in all of this, ironically, is Ronnie. He's leaving the best team in the world to play for a "used to be the best" team in a second rate league in front of quiet half empty stadiums.
The TV coverage of the PL is worldwide. The numbers are astounding. And most of those numbers are made up of "you've only switched on to watch United" crew. Ronnie's about to disappear into the xenophobic cauldron which is life at the Bernabeu. Wait till Ruud is on the bench cos they want Ronnie to get a goal....
Personally I don't think Ronnie can better this season. His head's swolen now, believing himself that he can only get better. This last year was a fluke. When he ends up with 15 goals next season for Real the questions will start to be asked.

For those who are still unsure of the Balague interview, here is a segment of it. It starts at 0.28:

My attempted transcription:

Vamos a ver".

My attempted translation:

"It's something that I want, something that I dream of and everyone knows what I want but it doesn't depend on me."

"You want to leave Manchester, do you think it will be very difficult?"

"It's always difficult because it's not one person who decides, it's many people but we'll see. I think it could be good for both parties, we'll see. It's a dream, a step forward, whatever you want to call it. For me, it's a very good opportunity and as Scolari says, the train only passes by once so we have to take advantage of certain things. People have to grab hold of the opportunities that arise in life, so we'll see what happens."

"Will you be able to carry out this dream?

"I really hope so. We'll see."

They have edited it to include different parts of the interview so it isn't the same as what appears on Balague's website. What appears on Balague's website is the following and the bits in bold are from the above interview:

Ronaldo: It is a personal thing. It is something I want, something I dream of.

Guillem: And that your family dreams of too

Ronaldo: That is true. You all know what I want. I cannot say anything else. In two days you will hear from me

Guillem: Do you think it is going to be very difficult to get out of United?

Ronaldo: It is always difficult. It is not only one person deciding, it is many people, but it can be a very good thing for everybody

Guillem: Do you feel what you are about to decide is a step forward in your career, a dream?

Ronaldo: It is a dream, a step forward, you can call it what you want. For me it is a great opportunity, and as Scolari says, that train passes by only once, and we have to take advantage of it

Guillem: Ah, but thats not fair, Scolari is going to be the new Chelsea manager and wants you away from him!

Ronaldo: That is why, he took advantage of his change, that opportunity, and other people have to take advantage of opportunities too.

Guillem: You know that when you return to Manchester people will be upset with you

Ronaldo: But that will pass, a couple of good goals and people will be happy

Guillem: Will the key be to talk to Ferguson?

Ronaldo: I will do a public note and we will then see what will happen

Guillem: Do you think your dream will come true?

Ronaldo: I really hope so, lets see

Guillem: What about the operation?

Ronaldo: I will be seen by the doctors of United in a couple of days

Guillem: You will talk to your club first

Ronaldo: Yes, I will talk to them first, and then in 3 or 4 days I will be operated and then i will start the recuperation to get better soon

Guillem: Is it true that you never took a call from Ferguson?

Ronaldo: It is not true

Guillem: But have you spoken to him?

Ronaldo: No. I was in a very important competition and we had nothing to say to each other

Guillem: Are you convinced that in three or four days everything can be sorted?

Ronaldo: Yes, lets see, in the next few days we will have more details

Just thought I'd put it on a plate for those in denial (with whom I sympathise because it's taken me a while to accept the truth..I'm still not 100% he'll leave though).

That actual interview is a lot more equivocal (read: bet hedging) than the Ballague "magic transcript".

I still find it amazing that people are believing Ballague lock stock and barrel.

This is the man who confirmed from the player himself we signed Senna. Done deal.

He makes crap up riding the wave of what he thinks is going to happen so he can claim to have the inside scoop. Since he got his start before the widespread internet days, he's too entrenched (and no one in the British sports media has clean enough hands) to be called out on it.

In fact, he promised THURSDAY to WITHIN 10 MINUTES put what is BY FAR the most damning of the alleged Ronaldo interviews online via AUDIO.

He told us "word for word" what it contained on Sky Sports News. Half an hour later, a "word for word" transcript appeared (NO AUDIO), and it had DIFFERENT QUOTES. Half an hour after that the "word for word" transcript had been tarted up again with YET MORE DIFFERENT QUOTES.

No, Ronaldo has not covered himself in glory. Yes, he has repeatedly made want-away-but-maybe-not type bet-hedging statements.

But Ballague has been lying and simply making crap up.

any new statements made by Ronaldo yet after he said there be more news in 2 or 3 days time. :boring:

Yes, the interview was altered but its clutching straws saying this guy is lying. The interview is posted above from youtube and translated it has all the important points in.

I reckon part of the reason Ronaldo has been so secretive is because if the move falls through, he wants to still be loved at United by the fans

it seems Ronnie wants to move as well......

Well it's not conclusive. There are mixed reports. I'd sure he wouldn't have minded either way, but Madrid have caused the problems and have told Ronaldo what he must do to make the move happen.

I think it's different. Rooney was ambitious and wanted the move. We didn't have to convince him of anything. Ronaldo may or may not have wanted a new contract, who knows; but they tapped him up to the extent he wants to move and may do things that see the move happen

I'd blame Ronnies agent for orchestrating this move more so than Madrid for their pursuit of him, he's reportedly getting £10m for "arranging" the transfer. You can't blame Madrid for their interest in Ronnie and when they hear stories that Ronnie would one day like to play for them you can't really blame them for trying to sign him, we'd do exactly the same if the circumstances were similar.

Scolari - Ron dreams of Real
New Chelsea boss expects United ace to move on

Luiz Felipe Scolari insists Manchester United will not be able to prevent Cristiano Ronaldo from joining Real Madrid.

The out-going Portugal coach, who will take charge of United's Premier League title rivals Chelsea on 1st July, knows the talented winger well from their time together with the international side.

Ronaldo's career at Manchester United could be coming to an end this summer with Real Madrid eager to secure his services.

The Red Devils insist that their star player is not for sale and that they will not be listening to offers, but Scolari believes that once Ronaldo has made his mind up, he will not be persuaded to change it.

Destiny

He told The People: "I know Cristiano well and I know the type of person he is so I have no doubts about how he will handle himself in the next few weeks.

"People must understand that Cristiano becomes stronger with all the difficulties and the stories about him. I have never known anyone so mentally strong.

"What happened to him at the World Cup in 2006 in the quarter-final against England would have crushed many other players - but not Cristiano.

"And what has been happening around him here with the uncertainty about his future has not affected him - I know that because I have been with him.

"He is so strong mentally and he is in control of his own destiny - and because of that Manchester United can do nothing to hurt him.

"It is his dream to play for Real Madrid and I am sure Cristiano will fulfil his dream whatever the difficulties."

Humble

And Scolari insists that all the speculation over Ronaldo's future had no impact on Portugal's exit from Euro 2008 in the quarter-finals against Germany.

He added: "Cristiano has been completely focused and if I had any doubts I wouldn't have put him in my 23 and given him an important role in the team. I trust him as an athlete and as a person.

"Ronaldo plays for the national team and defends the national team with a great will and that's what I like about him. The secret of Ronaldo is that he is simple, humble and he works for the group. He is a great team member and dedicated to the group.

He has a special will to win that I have not seen in anyone else and the other players soak it in. He" also has a special technical quality which everyone is aware of." End.

What planet is this guy on? I saw none of these qualities on Thursday night.

Planet attack your rivals as quickly as possible. He knows we are better than Chelsea and is trying to distrupt us early. He should be banned from managemnt by fifa for constantly commenting on stuff thats none of his business.

Shut Your Trap Rent Boy… How Can Ronaldo Be So Stupid?

the end of May, before his appointment as Chelsea manager had been announced, Luiz Filipe Scolari, speaking as Ronaldo’s international coach, claimed he thought Real Madrid were the right club for Ronnie.

“I have told him that in football you cannot live on memories,” Scolari said. “You have to take the opportunities when they come along because they will not come again in your lifetime. Cristiano knows that Madrid are a club to which you can never say no. History shows that you can lose the opportunity, and for that reason he is not going to say no to them. There are very few people who can say they have the capacity to make their lifelong dreams reality, but Cristiano is in this group of chosen people. Cristiano has always told me that his objectives in England were to win the Premier League and the Champions League. Now that he has done that, he has nothing left to prove. He knows he needs a new challenge.”

Since those comments from Scolari, we have been bombarded with mixed messages over Ronaldo’s future. Today, Scolari has stuck his nose in again, but Ronaldo shouldn’t be naive enough not to spot the hidden agenda behind Scolari wanting our player moving to a different league!

It is not Ronaldo’s decision on his future that is giving United fans a headache at the moment, rather his unwillingness just to come out and say what it is he wants. Since adamantly stating he was going to stay after the European Cup final, we’ve followed several weeks of hidden and vague messages from the player. He won’t categorically say he wants to join Real Madrid, but equally, won’t confirm he wants to stay at United either.

May 31st

“Beckham is one of the club’s greatest-ever players and it was a huge honour to be handed the shirt,” Ronaldo said. “I just hope to carry on doing it justice for the manager and the fans. To be talked about like Becks and George Best would be amazing. But then why not if I carry on what I am doing?”

June 8th

“Still I do not know where I will play,” he said. “I have not yet decided. It will be decided after the European Championships.”

June 12th

“I like a white kit,” he said. “The white kit of the national team that is.”

June 20th

Guillem: If you wanted to stay at Manchester United, why don’t you say it?
Ronaldo: You will soon know what I want. You do know what I want and that is why I don’t want to say anything else. Lets wait. I want to give more details that is why I cannot say much more.
Guillem: Do you feel what you are about to decide is a step forward in your career, a dream?
Ronaldo: It is a dream, a step forward, you can call it what you want. For me it is a great opportunity, and as Scolari says, that train passes by only once, and we have to take advantage of it.
Guillem: You know that when you return to Manchester people will be upset with you.
Ronaldo: But that will pass, a couple of good goals and people will be happy.

Ronaldo is playing games and it’s entirely frustrating. However, what is really starting to piss me off is Scolari’s involvement in the situation. The Portugal Football Federation have announced this week that they were livid with the timing of the news that Scolari was moving on, claiming that they couldn’t compete with the money Chelsea offered for his managerial services. Yet this is a man whose opinion Ronaldo really seems to value.

“I know Cristiano well and I know the type of person he is so I have no doubts about how he will handle himself in the next few weeks,” said Scolari today. “People must understand that Cristiano becomes stronger with all the difficulties and the stories about him. I have never known anyone so mentally strong. What happened to him at the World Cup in 2006 in the quarter-final against England would have crushed many other players - but not Cristiano.”

Hold on a minute, Ronaldo’s ability to get through the vile abuse is something which is now just attributed to his strength of character? Scolari is seemingly forgetting something, and hoping Ronaldo does the same. The support Ronaldo received from United fans was incredible. To counter balance the boos from the opposition every time his name was read out on the team sheet, we cheered for him the loudest. We sang his name week in week out. We turned up at matches home and away with Portugal flags and shirts.

Does Ronaldo honestly believe he would receive the same support from Real Madrid fans? Imagine in the World Cup 2006 and Portugal were playing against Spain. If he’d been a Real Madrid player then and was involved in the same incident with Raul instead of Rooney he would have been booed out of the club by his own fans on his return. There wouldn’t have been a place for him in Spain anymore. Yet all of our players, Rooney included, our manager and our fans, did all they could to separate the events at the World Cup from him as a United player.

“What has been happening around him here with the uncertainty about his future has not affected him - I know that because I have been with him,” Scolari continued. “He is so strong mentally and he is in control of his own destiny - and because of that Manchester United can do nothing to hurt him. It is his dream to play for Real Madrid and I am sure Cristiano will fulfil his dream whatever the difficulties.”

Whilst United will start next season as favourites to win the title again, with or without Ronaldo, it certainly won’t do Chelsea’s title bid any harm if Ronaldo isn’t at the club anymore. Since Ronaldo joined up with Portugal ahead of Euro 2008, Scolari had to know that the chances were strong of him managing Ronaldo’s title rivals in the coming season. Every bit of advice he has given to Ronaldo in this time about his future has come with his own agenda. He wants to weaken the opposition. How can Ronaldo be stupid enough to take on board anything Scolari has to say? Why hasn’t he dismissed all of Scolari’s comments the moment it was announced that he was set to be the Chelsea manager?

I already made my feelings on Scolari well known when his appointment was revealed, but my dislike of him is growing with every comment he makes about our player.

So Scolari picks up when Mourinho left off, hated by United fans. In a years time, I hope to be reflecting on how Scolari’s first season in charge ended like Mourinho’s reign with the rent boys, 2nd best to United.

But the interview isn't false? it happened...quotes twisted here and there yes. BUT it's real, he wants to go to Madrid and is going to do everything he can to get there this summer by the sounds of it.

Still think he aint going this summer but that interview was not totally pulled out of his ass.

I reckon part of the reason Ronaldo has been so secretive is because if the move falls through, he wants to still be loved at United by the fans
He's trying not to burn all his bridges. Not doing a very good job mind.

maybe you will but for me he is now eternally a full time judus cnut. Even if he comes back. I could not care less.

“I like a white kit,” he said. “The white kit of the national team that is.”

Think the full quote ended up reading:

“I like a white kit,” he said. “The white kit of the national team that is, for Manchester I prefer red"

thats the word on the street anyway, god only knows if it's true

I think the youtube vid I posted is fairly conclusive. It hardly differs from Balague's transcript, the only differences come from the editing carried out by the news company that made the report.

Ballague has made things up in the past, although to be honest I think he just got things wrong rather than made them up. And in any case, having to chat away for an hour a week on Revista de la Liga about rumours is in no shape or form the same as writing out a transcript of an interview. Making up or exaggerating transfer stories is one thing, but fabricating an exclusive and detailed interview (which we have seen he hasn't done due to the youtube vid containing at least some of the same quotes, and I reiterate that the lack of the rest of the quotes is due to the news company, not Balague) is proffessional suicide.

I agree that it's odd he hasn't put up an audio of the interview but to say it's all made up is clearly not true.

To be fair to Ronaldo, though, I feel that if it were not up to others' dreams, this 'dream' move to Madrid would not necessarily have weighed in so much for him personally... He probably feels too obligated to people close to him... :(

Ahhh! Now that you understand you might as well go away. Goodbye Shyster.

To be fair, they'll have gone through him and three more managers plus two presidents and a midfield by the time the week is out.

The circus is in town...

I'm not. They're already spending the imaginary money they have got for Ronaldo.

You absolutely had to know that was coming the moment we got to the fourth day of the "two days".

They couldn't hold it in any longer.

They care more about transfers than about actual football.

And people wonder where I get my supposedly ott stereotypes of the FM muppets extraordinary from.

He has made his "translation" of his allegedly (and clearly NOT) exclusive interview MUCH MUCH MUCH more damning than what it actually is.

Just read the god damned thing in either language.

How many times does Ronaldo do that cutesy little prevaricating "not up to me" dance? Ballague excised that over and over and over again, plus moving things around to make them worse. And it isn't his exclusive.

He even said on Sky Sports that there was absolutely nothing in it to indicate that United fans could think he might even 1% possibly stay.

At first the "score a few goals" comment was on the site, then it was gone. The next day it was back, altered to be more hazy. Then it was back to the original.

He is lying his tits off, using other statements as the general gist of his "interview" and riding the wave of the story to pretend like he's a major player in the story.

He does this all of the time.

Beckham is a big time charlie cnut of the highest proportions. Thought he was bigger than SAF .... trying to make me choose him over SAF. Poor lamb, started crying cos he got found out. He can feck off. And I could not care less for his whining ever since. The torment is has endured was self inflicted.

Its a shame as he's a London Red like me, grew up not far from me and I admired him alot ... he gave us London reds real onwnership of United as he was one of ours doing the business for our beloved team.

But I support Manchester United ... and after United there is only one way to go.

KING SIZE cnut only slipping into No 2 position by Ronaldo.

Spot fcking on.
