Even that's made up DR... trustno1
Nothing about an RM offer there when I looked.
Oh, seems like they've removed it now.
It was a statement from United saying that they had received an offer to today which they were considering.
He said that two weeks ago too.
anyway, Did anybody watch the interview? Most likely made up or lost in translation(from scottish to english)

When I read it it said they had acce[ted an offer of £12.5m for his left leg
Wow an unsubstantiated counter-rumour (unless you were there). You should go into the espionage business.
Thanks for all the good wishes guys.
I think this thread will still be going when I'm 64.
Can't believe we're no closer than post #1 to having this sorted.
Real hint at Ronaldo defeat
Madrid chief admits Dutchman could be only signing
Last updated: 5th August 2008
Calderon: Ready to join dole queue;
Ramon Calderon has dropped a huge hint that he has accepted defeat in Real Madrid's pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo, by applying for the Madrid Job-seekers allowance. It's his belief that his weekly cheque for 50 euros could be his only earnings of the summer.
Madrid's president was introducing the Dutchman to the crowd of fans who had gathered inside the Bernabeu, when he revealed this would likely be the last major presentation in the Spanish capital.
Manchester United have said that they do not expect the Portuguese star to leave them and now Calderon has publicly stated that he also thinks he is on the dole.
"Van der Vaart is my last signing and probably before the dole," said Calderon.
Madrid have made no secret of their desire to sack Calderon but while the Spanish press continue to speculate over his future on a daily basis, it would appear his chances of being given the dole in Spain are shortening by the day.
United are loath to lose their prize asset and while it has been suggested they may contemplate a deal next summer, Sir Alex Ferguson is adamant he will have achieved Calderon's disposal this season.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists the transfer saga surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo is over and he will stay at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo's future at United has been the subject of constant speculation all summer with the Portuguese refusing to commit himself to the club.
Real Madrid have been waiting in the wings to swoop for Ronaldo with the Spanish giants not hiding their liking for the dazzling winger.
Reports in Spain have claimed Ronaldo would inform Ferguson he wanted to leave Old Trafford for Madrid when he returns to the club later this week to undergo treatment on his ankle injury.
Throughout the summer, Ferguson has remained adamant that last season's top scorer would not be leaving the club and the wily Scot insists the whole saga is now finished.
"The matter is closed now," said Ferguson on Sky Sports News.
"He is a Manchester United player, it's finished.
"He is going to play here believe me."
Ferguson also revealed he is no closer to bringing in a new assistant manager as a replacement for Carlos Queiroz.
Queiroz left United to take up the manager's role with his native Portugal leaving Ferguson to bring in a new No.2.
Assistant
Ferguson says the club will not be rushed into getting a new assistant, but is hopeful of having the new man in by September.
"No news [on a new assistant] we take our time with that," added Ferguson.
"We hope to have someone in by the end of September but we never rush these things. It is hard to replace good men.
"We have good coaches here, I have no problems with that aspect of it.
"I am just looking for a particular type of person to assist me in certain ways."

That's all he said on the subject. No talk of next year blah blah like the media will probably speculate.
Link for the report?
First installment apparently.
£20m for his right peg.
£2 for his brain.
£80m for his ego.
Hmm - wonder if this links to the 'temporary' appearance of an offer story on the Utd site.
Did we just knock an offer back?
£80m for his ego.

That's a total of £102m for his lego
(he'll need to build bridges)
He said a few weeks ago Ronaldo was staying. That didn't stop the stories. This won't either.
Did anyone other than cnut see it?
Or is that Major 'Ronnie' Ferguson, currently holed up in a small town in northern Portugal
If you were Fergie, what would you do?
- Sell him now, knowing his value will only be going down
- Sell him next year, even though his contribution this year will not be on par with the last couple of years
- Bench him
Option one would be the most reasonable, especially if we could get top pound for him. However, it would set a bad precedent, it would mean Real wins and it would mean they will play the same game every year we have a genuine great player.
Option two is more of a face-saving exercise. Ronaldo will sulk all year, never produce the brilliance and will be sold at a discount 12 months from now, wondering what was the point of that at all.
Cnut was on a WUM.
