ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

He's the best player on the world. But is it worth keeping a player that wants to play for another club? That said, a part of me loves the idea of sticking two fingers up and Real and keeping him. They'd look like a laughing stock.

It's complex. If I was Sir Alex I would say absolutely not, but then I'd know what Ronaldo's like and I would think. How big is this desire? So i'd want to talk to him and knowing how influential I could be I'd think, ok i'll try to convince him

And I think if he does stay he will be the same as he ever was. I also think it would be great to prove him wrong if he thinks that you can't win the top awards here, or get the recognition.

I just think it's beneficial for us because 1) he'll be hard to replace, especially at a time we weren't even considering it and 2) a years a long time. I think it's possible we could get another year out of him if we should him that we are ready to do something sustained in europe

It probably won't help but additionally it makes fools of Madrid and Calderon looks silly and is pushed ;)...

We'll look like idiots if we agreed to sell him after making such a big deal about him not being for sale and not being walked over by Madrid, we even reported them to Fifa. We'd look small-time if we accepted any bid. Let him go to Barca!

Thanks, but I can't hear him.

I can't quite understand this desperation to believe everything said in the media is bullshit. We've heard Ronaldo himself quite clearly indicate he has a decision to make about going to Madrid. We all know his decision is made, this saga wouldn't have gone on like this otherwise. Given it's not his choice, it's not a simple case of coming out and burning bridges, although he's pretty far down that road anyway. The longer it goes on, the more chance of United agreeing its not worth the hastle and selling up

And yet, you take Ronaldo's word of 'I stay', said in the heat of emotion after the biggest game of your career, as if it has been uttered by the holiest of the disciples. Does it not occur to you he was hardly going to say 'I'm going' that night? Or that he might just be a liar?

That Ballague interview is a full transcript, from a personality who, ok, is known for speculation - much of it garbage at times - but is still a well known, well employed journalist in the British media. It's simply not worth risking that for the sake of faking one 'exclusive' story in such a manner

Bollocks.SSN is about as reliable as there sister paper The Sun.
Well I'm not defending Sky, but they don't have a Ronaldo tuned voice manipulator. If he said it, and they played it on SSN...well you can't say it's bollocks just 'cause Sky aren't a reliable source.

There's no way he's getting out of here without meeting with Fergie.

I'm still backing Ronaldo to be at Old Trafford this coming season.

Do you really want him that much because I really do want him to just feck off out of my beloved club.

I liken this to having a tasty girlfriend, who thinks she is too good for you, she was with you for a while and you had some good times but now she thinks she can do better.

What do you do?

A) Make a complete tit of yourself and beg on bended knee for her to stay with the promise and hope that things will always be fantastic.

B) Tell her to pack her bags and feck off because you would rather be with a fat bird that loves you than someone who doesn’t appreciate you. (Come back Ralphie, all is forgiven)

Rumour has it the guy reckons he is worth a transfer because of his loyalty, wtf, the only true loyalty shown was from Manchester United and its fans who stood by and supported him when he needed it most.

Manchester United turned Ronaldo from an arrogant, diving pre-Madonna with potential into the player he is today, we in fact have only had Two good years service as repayment for this and for him to supposedly speak of his loyalty to us is nothing short of ridiculous.

I don’t think any one would of deny him his so called ‘Dream move’ if he had given us another three years service, as say Beckam did, but it seems that he only has the courage to come out with the transfer demands when he is away from Manchester and surrounded by his country men.

If all this is a smoke screen by Ronny and he is just doing it to angle a pay rise then fair play, he deserves it and I will be the first to say I was wrong to criticise him.

But some thing tells me that the majority of us rightly think that he is a twat of the highest order and he should feck off to Real where he will be in good company with his mate Heinze.

This is Manchester United and we don’t beg.

Yes but we trusted Ronaldo when we made that stand. And now its seems he has turned traitor was lying all the time when he said he would stay here for a few years at least. We all knew he wanted to play in Spain but not this early.I am sure Fergie didn't expect this.

Now the best deal for the club would be to sell him for the maximum money possible. We cannot not sell him to Real.

Not sure how the fans would react, though. I wouldn't boo him, but I doubt I'd sing his name, either.

We may soon reach 10 000 post in this thread and still the only one interview in which we could HEAR and SEE Ronaldo saying something directly about his future was: No no, I am staying.

If she was the hottest girl in the world and you got to have your way with her once or twice week for one or two more years, you may consider begging...

I hope that this whole CR7™ thing hasnt gone to his head. There is a fine line between knowing you are a great player and believing your own hype. It appears that Real Madrid are turning him into another marketing tool. Going there would be a risky move because that club lacks stability, discipline and respect.

I'm not sure it was him actually, it was a dummy. . .or a clone. So, basically he's not said anything at all.

And since then we have SEEN him say he will make a decision about his future after the Euros. Why is there even a decision to make if hes staying?

it'll probably be mixed but once the seasons underway i'd like to think most people would just enjoy the footy. It might not happen but if he worked his bollocks off then people would begrudgingly accept it i think, in time anyway. hopefully

True. Rio's turned things around, hasn;t he. But Ronaldo should never be in that position anyway. What an idiot.

Funny, but innaccurate. I've seen several press conference and pre/post match interviews where he's had something to say about the matter. Mainly either deferring the question until later, or insinuating he has a decision to make. Which goes directly against his 'I stay' comments weeks ago. I can understand to some degree not believing the odd quote assigned to him or his entourage in papers, but what I don't understand is people claiming an entire interview transcript from a well known British based source is faked, or things I've actually seen him say on camera is just 'media nonsense'. It smacks of pure desperation not to want to believe the lad wants out, when all signs say exactly the opposite

I think I finally understand why women stay with opressive husbands. They just choose to believe everything but the behavioural evidence of what is actually going on. They'll hook onto one word or sentiment of hope for better times, despite all over evidence to the contrary, and let the opression continue. Some people are displaying similar classic signs of denile in this thread

He has big time. It's taken a few years mind.

The cheek of Ronaldo saying the fans will forgive him once he scores a couple of goals is beyond arrogance. The kids/girls might forgive him but it would take something very special for him to worshiped again in the stands.

I agree with everything you say and cant believe myself that some people just choose to downplay the authenticity of anything negative that comes out. Ronaldo is responsible for his own actions.

However, this analogy is probably a tad over the top :smirk:

it sure sounded like ronaldo on the interview i heard, i couldn't understand what was said though:confused: perhaps bellend got that allister magowan bloke to impersonate ronaldo.

i will be glad when all this media frenzy bollocks is finished, either make him stay or get rid. personally id prefer the latter

Rumour has it that the poster of the 10000th post will get a tagline/new tagline..

Yes, that "fans will forgive me" is very strange. It means he is admitting that he has done something bad enough to be forgiven.

Rio was stalling over a contract, not flirting with another team.

Eh? I thought he was flirting with Chelsea?

I've heard a few people defend Ronaldo on the grounds that it's nothing new, Rio has behaved like this in the past. I'd argue not to this extent, but either way, how short the memory is. Do people not remember how the supporters reacted to Ferdinand back then? So he's getting similar kind of treatment

Ferdinand has proved his mettle and won the majority back over. I'll be highly dissapointed if United supporters confirm Ronaldo's arrogance and have all forgiven after he scores a couple of goals

That's one way of looking at it. I remember the papers reporting otherwise. ;)

Refresh my memory (I'm getting old) what team was Rio flirting with? I genuinely can't remember.

Edit: Just seen Spoony's post. I still don't remember.

Further edit: And all the others, the mists are clearing as I now remember the "accidental" meeting with Kenyon.

But I assume at the same time you recognise that Ronaldo can win the fans back around in the same way as Rio? That if he knuckles down and maintains his performances we will eventually forgive him, even if it does take awhile?

Or do you think that the damage he has done is irrevocable, and that's that for his fandom?

Do people expect a definite word within the next day or so? from Ronaldo himself.

I expect the negotations to drag on and on
