All Roads Lead to Rome - ALL TRAVEL/TICKET INFO FOR FINAL HERE

I HAVE to go this year somehow.....please please.

I'm only a One United member though, although i am trying other routes. I know a few ST Holders and Execs so will have to see. Fingers crossed!

Just go, worry about a ticket once your there!

I booked my flights after the quarter/semi final draw on the 20th March.

Just need tickets now. Hopefully will be able to get them though the ballot as im a ST holder.

I dont like the fact there are only 19,000 tickets. Its a 70,000 seater stadium FFS.

Hadnt seen anyone post the official info:

We will receive an allocation of approximately 19,500 tickets, priced at £183, £128, £83 and £65. Applications will be accepted from the following supporters, from 08:00 on Wednesday 6 May through to 08:00 on Tuesday 12 May:

Season Ticket Holders who have attended all domestic and European home cup games this season can also make an application online. It is anticipated that we will be heavily oversubscribed and a ballot will be processed giving priority to Season Ticket Holders who have applied for 6 Champions League away games. Remaining tickets will be allocated to Season Ticket holders on a descending basis (i.e. 5 Champs Lge away applications etc).

Eventhough I have 2 season tickets, I dont think I have much chance of a ticket as I opted out of the Carling Cup this season and havent been to any Euro aways - glad I went to Moscow last year when I had the chance!

Yeah, anyone thats opted out of the Carling Cup will be excluded. Bit unfair really.

Im glad i stayed in it.

i've put a bid in on EBAY for two tickets...must be mad, am the current high bidder....look at the prices....bet i don't end up the high bidder $1500 for two cat 3 tickets....am regretting it already....
might be better off just booking flights and telling those ticket touting bastards on EBAY to feck off....then try my chances in ROMA.

I was in Barca and Moscow but will be struggling this time as I'm going on holiday on Thursday, so would need to get a flight back early, and then would have a long drive....

I'm posting a bit of advice; I didnt think I'd make Moscow, but managed to get a reasonably priced charter flight late on. If you're still mad to go and havent got anything sorted late on, this might come up as an option

good luck peeps

To be honest I think it is fair enough - those who have been to most games are given priority - cant really argue with that.

however, the paltry allocation does piss me off - only 19,500 tickets

I want to go and can afford it but am only a OU member so getting a ticket through official means will be remote. Need a ST holder that doesn't want to apply but my network of them is as small of my chance of getting one in the ballot.

I'm afraid that crazy as it sounds, you're wildly optimistic on your chances of getting one through the ballot as a OU member! They are precisely zero, there will be no ballot, and no tickets for OU members, so I'd start pursuing those "other means".

I'm a season ticket holder, and I can't even apply (fortunately, if that's the correct word, there's no way I can afford it again this year anyway:()!:

Did you opt out of the Carling Cup? Have you tried applying on the website?

I've applied but not hopeful to be honest. 19,500 tickets in a 72K stadium. UEFA = touting twats.

Damn how I want to make the trip to rome for this one... Living in Berlin right now and there are cheap flights to Milan at least, I could catch the train from there hopefully....

Are there any Caftards going just to soak up the atmosphere? (and maybe try for tickets outside the ground) - Because I don't have anyone to go with, and I'd like to avoid being stabbed in the kneecap by some Roma Ultra fan.

A lot of United supporters from Poland are going to Rome without tickets to enjoy another great night in their lives!

Has anyone get any suggestions on cheap-ish flights from Manchester, via tinbuckto?? Can't find a thing...

Or from London if not?

I have booked my flights from London. This is the route I am taking.

Fly out from Luton to Paris (Easyjet) on Wed 27th May at 6am, then get a connecting flight from Paris to Rome (Vueling Airlines) get to Rome by 1:00pm.

Fly ot from Rome to Venice (RyanAir) on Thurs 28th May around 6am, then get a connecting flight from Venice to London Stanstead (RyanAir), and in London by 11am.

Not sleeping in Rome, so no hotel needed! Will go straight to the Airport after the game and get a few hours kip on a bench.

All this cost me £251 - and I booked it this morning!

Wooo-hoooo!

I’m going to apply but it’s looking increasingly likely that I’ll have to choose between a trip to Rome or a season ticket next year. Season ticket probably wins that one I think. I’m desperate to go but I just don’t know where I could possibly scrape that kind of cash together, I’m gutted!

It's an common quandry and an interesting one from the point of view of the clubs finances. In theory, by getting to the final, they could be doing themselves out of income, from those who chose to give their money to Uefa and the airlines instead of buying a season ticket!

Yeah you’re probably right. Especially this year considering the current economic climate. I’m just fecking gutted that United have been in 3 champions league finals in my lifetime and I won’t have been to any of them. I was even looking into a credit card earlier but the bastards won’t lend me any money. I’m cursing the credit crunch today!

Me too - not going to be able to afford Rome or next year's ST.:(

At least I have the consolation of having made it to Moscow last year!

I reckon one credit will be sufficient. I bet there can't have been more than 19k that applied for Celtic away.

Did anyone fill out the travel report for the Arsenal game, because the letter that game with the tickets said if you didnt, then you will loose your credit. I am worried, as I didnt fill out the travel report.

But I did apply to 4 other away games, and got Inter Milan. So I think I should be okay for a ticket to Rome.

Congrats.

Shit picture.

I doubt 19k applied for Celtic away but I bet there are more than 19k that applied for at least 3 games (not inc. Celtic) that will be applying for the final.

I doubt people with 3 credits will get tickets never mind with 1.

Whats the credit card like chip for in the ticket, is this for the free travel that maybe available around Rome?

I've found return flights from Gatwick to Florence on 26th depart and 28th return for £216 (or direct to rome for £259) but still no chance of a ticket. I don't deserve one in comparison to many but it doesn't stop me wanting one madly. There wont be many times that United are in the CL final on my birthday so I want to exhaust every avenue before conceding defeat.

who gets all the other tickets, i want to be one of them, sounds much easier than the normal route. time to start ringing all my contacts
