What 'rant'? is everything that goes against your opinion a rant crerand? im merely suggesting a man who's headed an organisation for such a long time and been shown up to be so spectacularly wrong in everything he has said surely has lost all creditability and should do the honourable thing and step down?

Id actually gain a ton of respect for the man if he did this or either simply came out and said 'look ive fecked up i was wrong we were wrong and i apologise for calling the manager and David Gill liars and everything associated to the glazer ownership' which is effectively what he's done for 5 years, its surely basic incompetence to have said the things hes said and been proven so conclusively wrong on every count? if that were a general everyday working man hed have been shown the door years ago for sheer incompetence.

To be fair, MUST wasn't only concerned about PIK debts, we still have the bond issue as well. While this news should be treated with cautious optimism, we are not exactly free unless the bond debt is settled as well.

Can the glazers buy the bond that are in the market now?

What are you on about?

The same bond issue that MUST got everyone all riled in a big panic about because it meant that the evil Glazers would take all the club's money away leaving us with nothing?

Money taken in carveouts and dividends: £nil

GCHQ will be able to answer that for you no doubt; tax is far too complicated for my understanding of the situation to grasp enough of to be able to answer.

I'd be very interested to be honest. If we paid a 12mill dividend and presumably some tax on operating profits of 40mill I think it would be interesting to have a guesstimate of what we'd possibly be paying in tax and dividends with our current turnover assuming debt free. I'm sure the loan payment is still more but I'd be interested in an approximation of the degree of difference.

Sigh, someone lend the man a clue.

And please Christ don't go on one of your rants about being insulted, you do it every time someone gets frustrated with your inability to understand rather easily understandable posts, the reason people get annoyed with you is because of things like that.

Losing it again are we, chill man

GCHQ worked it all out amidst great controversy and animosity many months ago and his conclusion was that in comparison to the PLC's model the Glazers have cost us only a little bit more.

In that case I'm starting a Brown and Black campaign (the colour of Fergie's dog) to get the cnut out.

So to break it down after todays news regarding the PIK loans - United's total debt stands at just over 500 million with cash reserves of 150 million, so in theory the debt could come down to 350 million. United's value in todays market is 1.5 billion. Revenues are up by 10% in this quarter and likely to raise, someone suggested to 150 million profit per year in the near furture. And to top it of Chelsea have lost there two centre backs for a few months. I think all in all its been a good day.

 It'll do for me. On top of that i logged inot my paypal account and found £266 there which i cannot explain; says it's been there since April. Withdrawn and am now going on a date with a bird in Bury next Tuesday. Good day.

Have the Glazers gone then?

Slowly does it mate

Personally I'm for fan ownership, but until we are in that position keeping up the pressure is the best we as fans can really do.

The achievements of MUST, GG and other fan protests so far

- no price increases this season

- clubs money not used to pay down PIK's.

Indeed ..... Well said.

That's a bit much. Surely ticket prices have stabilised due to then noting they'd reached near equilibrium between supply and demand. I also see no indication that they've shown any inclination to bow to fan pressure in any way that would cost them a significant sum.

Good point

Noted!

Edit: I'm still sure fans pressure has taken it's toll to some extent.

There's bound to have been some effect. The protests aren't worthless and G&G etc certainly had a positive unifying effect with fans. Just sadly when you are talking about figures in the hundreds of millions of dollars things would have had to become far more widespread to have really forced their hand.
In a way I think MUST missed a trick in varying their focus and making what I perceived to be slightly outlandish claims. Had they maintained focus on certain issues that had a very real effect on fans I think support would have been much more behind them.

Although saying that I wouldn't want to get dragged into criticising any particular group as there's been too much in this thread already.

Bingo! That is exactly what I have been saying for a while - MUST should focus on issues like getting rid of the horrible ACS or the distribution of away/cup tickets or safestanding etc. They could also do a lot to lobby the FA/UEFA/govt to try and get rules changed to stop huge leveraged buy outs in football.
These are the kinds of issues that I would fully support - a never ending witchhunt against our owners which ends up spilling into criticism of Gill, Fergie and our squad is not something I will ever support.

I'm using your's, you plonking spoon. You said that we would have made the same commercial advancements even without the Glazers, well, how do you know all this, got a crystal ball have we?

Anyway feck this, i've learnt that engaging in dialogue with you is akin to smashing myself repeatedly in the face with a partially decomposed frozen duck.

"Touched a nerve, have I?"

No.

Yer typical Cider post when it all gets too much for him, it really is funny

Has anyone seen the episode of South Park where they want the KKK to support the opposite (non-racist) argument just to make their own one sound better, since everyone has the mentality of "if the KKK support it, it must be bad."

I really wish Crerand was a huge fan of the Glazers.

Side splitting that, your a South Park fan that says it all

This comes back to wether a certain person actually want's us fans to have a fairer deal or wether his actual goal is to get his friends and business associates in the hot seat.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys but aren't the PIKs the Glazers personal debt? If this is true then surely this isn't making any difference to the club is it?

I notice that AndersRed has revealed terms and conditions of the PIK on his blog. On another day, I guess this would constitute big news (as far ad this thread is concerned).

Main points:
1) Early redemption penalties in year one and two of 2% and 1% (smaller than I would have assumed). Nada thereafter.
2) No fixed repayment dates for partial repayments- only a few days notice required.
3) Pik backed by all (100%) the shares in RF Limited.
4) A change in ownership would require full redemption of the pik.

4 is obvious but statements issued on behalf of the Glazers indicate that this is not in play here.

Probably because you touched a nerve.

Got on a nerve. Crerand's problem is that he perceives people getting wound up by his thick-headed attitude as evidence that he's somehow right in what he's saying; that and his hypersensitivity to even the mildest of insults.

A typical conversation with Crerand would go as follows, sans spelling, syntax and grammatical errors:

Crerand - The Glazers are going to take all our money and you know it.

Recipient - No, we've told you a thousand times already, they can't.

Recipient goes on to explain for the thousand and oneth time why Crerand is wrong.

Crerand - Just face it, they're going to take all our money!

Recipient - What?! Can't you read? I've just explained it to you!

Crerand - The Glazers are going to take all our money and you know it.

Recipient - You're a moron.

Crerand - I've always found that people only resort to insults when they're losing an argument.

Recipient - wtf, feck off.

Crerand - Touched a nerve have I?

Recipient - No, you're just impossible to talk to.

Crerand - Calm down!!!!!!

Recipient - Jesus, man, what's wrong with you?

Crerand - Oh more insults! You're obviously not able to stand up to hard questioning and are just resorting to insults like usual.

Recipient - That wasn't even an insult.

Crerand - I don't care anyway, I'm crying with laughter here from all your insults, it's water off a duck's back to me.

Crerand pm's all the mods complaining about how insulted he is.

Recipient - Right, well, just shut up for a bit Crerand while we get back on topic. Erm... where were we...? yeah, with the increase in EBITDA that'll follow from the commercial growth we'll probably...

Crerand - The Glazers are going to take all our money and you know it.

Recipient - JESUS!!!

Crerand - I'm never posting in this thread again.
