All-Ireland Championships '08

Unbelievable. Wexford have been brilliant. Matty Ford was unbelievable. Wexford 1-14 Armagh 0-12.

Great couple of matches, fair play to Wexford.

Galway would have beaten most teams today, as would Monaghan last week, but if Kerry are at it at all, they can go up a gear and burn off the opposition. Some great scores today, Meehan played the match of his life, but Kerry march on. I thought Declan O'Sullivan's shot was in, would have been up there with the greatest goals of the last few years. Gooch is getting back into it now, slow start today, but by the second half he was looking more dangerous.

Match of the Championship so far.

Kerry were outstanding but Galway had a chance to really pull ahead and they made a balls of it. I'd expect Cork to beat Kildare fairly handily. The Cork Kerry match will be very very close. I'd still expect Kerry to win and go on to beat the Dubs in the final.

I have to laugh at the over-cockiness of Dublin fans, you are disillusioned as feck if you think your gonna railroad Tyrone!

I'm a Tyrone man living in Dublin for nearly 9 yrs & the shit i've heard from you lot seriously entertains me. Is it any wonder its Dublin Vs 31 Counties!

You disrespect a great football County like Tyrone by thinkin you're in the final already. You may come to regret the over-confidence you show for a respected team with 18+ All-Ireland senior medals & many of whom have Minor & U-21 All-Irelands aswell. So before you get too far up your own arses remember one thing - this Tyrone team know what it takes to win All-Irelands - you dont & we certainly wont be intimidated by the cocky Dubs on the pitch & in the stands :)

C'mon Tyrone :D

What are you on about? I think Dublin will beat Tyrone bit I am not 100% confident. I think it will be close, very close, but if I had to pick a winner I'd pick Dublin. And if it was cockiness then I wouldn't have said I thought Kerry would beat them in the final. There is a difference between confidence and cockiness.

And to be honest I don't really give a feck because I don't support the Dubs. I watch the matches but I don't give a shit who wins.

I paid $20 to watch the Cork/Kilkenny game yesterday. got to the pub early so I also saw Cork in an unconvincing win over Kildare in the football.

ah well, at least Utd won.

to watch live GAA, yes. the pubs don't actually charge it - it's Setanta.

over here in the states Setanta runs the racket for that kind of thing and only shows live GAA on PPV. same for the big FA cup games, live 6 nations, etc.

premiership and champions league footie is not PPV.

Actually yea I remember a few years ago in Chicago I paid $20 to get in to a pub to watch an Ireland v England 6 nations match. That was 8am or something. It was great!

Fair enough mate

I think the pressure of the game finally got to me there in my post, humble apologies NC!

Been taking grief off the Dubs since the draw was made & its constant disrespect from quite alot of them, especially folk i work with, hard to take but i wont be cracking again!

Should be an interesting & intriquing encounter & a hard one to call.... I hope we do ourselves justice if all the hype is to believed about this Dublin side!

Looking forward to the game on Sunday, I think it will be a close encounter. We (Tyrone) have stumbled through to the quarters I have to admit while Dublin have looked good value for their wins. I do think Tyrone can up their game, the question is can Dublin? This will be a hard fought game and the fans will play a big part.

I do hope that we can improve and book that slot in the semis.

Alright man - good to hear from ya - especially as we near the big day of reckoning!

I do think Tyrone have more gears to go up. And that was a very valid point if Dublin have the ability to go up gears aswell. Tommy McGuigan was very poor against Mayo, so he has something to prove on Saturday and i'm hoping to be proved right that Tommy will play well & justify our confidence in the boy!

Its gonna be a hard game alright but the Red Hand boys wont be intimidated by the Boys in blue - on or off the field. So i'm banking on the big game players for Tyrone to bring back to the County, the respect as a contender it has lost the past 2 years!

Could be the game of the Championship so far :D:)

totally agree with your point about T. McGuigan, he was totally of the boil. I have to also say that a lot of our players were not up for that game. Brian Dooher and Ryan McMenamin to name a couple went missing. Tyrone have a great panel this year probably spoiled for choice, if you were Micky Harte. But you can only play 15 at a time. I think the managers will have a good tactical say. Micky harte is one of the best tactical managers in the country.

Yeah Dooher was missing for large parts of the match, i think the playing of 3 weeks in a row took the edge of us but now after a 2wk lay off - i feel we'll we'll be ready for it!

I always like to hear the Tyrone lads & Mickey get interviewed after games, they're brutally honest. I remember just after the Westmeath game, the lads were saying "everyone will want to draw us next..." - that was some statement, but it showed the realism of the squad, in respect of improvements that need to be made.

My main problem with our lads is the wides count. Although against Mayo we didnt hit as many, but still some of the finishing was extremely poor, especially Tommy's - remember the free in front of the goal & he ballooned it, Seany took over the duties after that!

I hope Mugsy's ready & able for it - from the start aswell, so we can employ Seany back in mid-field with Enda & have Mugsy, McCullagh, McGuigan's x 2, Mulgrew & Dooher flying high up the field!

There's been alot of doom & gloom about this Tyrone team, so maybe this is the time of put some of those worries to bed & challenge for Sam once again!

To be honest, I'll be giving all the Dubs that I work with serious stick as well. Some of them are supremely over confident but that's probably because we are so used to winning nothing and this year they seem to have one of the strongest teams. It doesn't bother me as I said because I don't really follow them and only watch it because I enjoy watching the game.

I think Kerry are going to beat Dublin or Tyrone or Wexford in the final anyway. They look very strong and are in nowhere near top form.

Even the Georgians at war are getting behind the Tyrone team for Saturday

I was in a cue for a sambo in a cafe near work and two Tyrone lads behind me are prattling on about the match. All Im hearing is the Dubs have no bottle and we'll show them this weekend. I was tempted to take my bottle of water and smack the f*ckers around the head and show them exactly what bottle is. ;) I have to say that I've yet to hear any bragging from my mates about the game. They see it as the first stern test of credentials for Dublin and reckon that it will be a very tough one at that. We owe Tyrone one but we got much to easy a journey to this point. I still cant see beyond Kerry for Sam though!

Fighting talk - but i like it :lol:

Are ya goin to the game man?

I'm not bothering, limited options to be honest. Best mates from Wicklow & is an honoury Tyrone fan - pretty passionate aswell too, but he's working. So i'm left with goin with Dubs & that would just be crazy. So i'm just gettin the brews in & a few tokes & have the best seat in the house to watch all the drama unfold!

Games like this always get tensions a little high. I've taking "Stick" all week about the game tomorrow. Out of 600 staff - i'm the only Tyrone man & some folk have ripped the feck out of it but i havent stooped to that level, so to be honest & without sounding arrogant - i hope we whoop Dublin tomorrow - it wont happen, but its gonna be alot closer than Dublin fans think!

I'm gonna be trolleyed tomorrow probably before the game begins, so i'm plannin to cook a big feck-off pot of stew 2nite, to do us over the weekend - i make a fine stew Stick, - its a masterpiece  and i'll take a photo & post it on Monday :D

We really get the best of both worlds dont we? The Prem & when its finsihed the hunt for Sam kicks off & then we've get the Prem back again - if ever there was a reason to feel great about being Irish - this is surely a fecking great one

It's actually thundering and lightening!!

Bernard Brogan looks fecked. Coming off already.

Tyrone up by a point.

Bad misses by Alan Brogan and Jayo

Tyrone look up for this! Should be good.

what happened to brogan? i only tuned in just now

thank feck we got a goal back, dublin 1-2 : tyrone 1-5

great performance by tyrone, most dubs may not admit it but i will say that it was a joy to watch, they played so well all around the park!

Christ...talk about having your arse handed to you....serious performance by Tyrone.

If we were to get to the final, I'd love a crack at them. They deservedly bettered us in the 2005 final, my most disappointing day ever at Croker. I'd love a rematch. Semi first though.

What next for the Dubs...back to the drawing board. In fairness, they're better than they showed yesterday, but that kind of thing can happen from time to time. Slate clean, back again. It's the only way.

Have to say what a cracking Display of football by the Tyrone lads. Dublin never turned up at all. I said in my previous post that Tyrone had plenty in them to up their game, and they did not disappoint. I could not call a man of the match they all played superb.
