Sanchez: "E' ancora tutto aperto", Pastore, chiavi in mano a 50 milioni - La Gazzetta dello Sport

There is absolutely no way we are going to sign him, probably his agent using us to get a better deal out of interesting sides or simply Udinese trying to squeeze more money out of City. Anyway, I still feel we should have moved for him at some point in the last two years as we were clearly interested, he wouldn't have cost that much if he had been lined up as Ronaldo replacement that Summer.

No offence mate, but you sound like a broken record here sometimes.

Some of our fans seem to think we are incapable of pulling off a huge transfer, like it has never been done before.

Because I don't think we are going to break our transfer record for yet another winger when we have already spent about £50m this Summer and will probably need a midfielder or two as well? I already admitted I will probably be wrong about net spend less than £20m but how the hell are we expected to spend £120m+ all of a sudden?

If we actually get Alexis Sanchez I vow to become a superhero and fight crime such would be my joy, I would happily share it by fighting villians on the mean street.

For me it's more so that it's not Sanchez we'll put off the massive transfer for.

He's not a winger. Not for long anyway.

No because of your previous posts also.

Also we hardly needed a center back when we signed Jones, but we did signed him because he is an exceptional talent, what makes you think we won't do it for Sanchez?

We've already pulled three big signings this Summer (unless we give up on Young but we wouldn't do that), we will likely need a midfielder that will cost upwards of £20m to go with it which is going to bring our spending to £70m at least.

I don't think that is it. Atleast that's not my reservations about it.

Mine are first and foremost, how does this lad fit into our plans considering young and nani are already here. Not to mention valencia as well.

As noted, I haven't seen much of him. But what i've seen of him, he's a winger/wide forward/withdrawn central striker.

Isn't this exactly what young is?

Perhaps we are looking to mould him into a false 9 ala messi? However wazza is our man for that.

We also still have berbs on our books, and hernandez does desrve more time after his season he had last year.

I don't think anyone would be puzzled if we were in for schweinstiger or modric (though i don't rate modric that much) for 40 million. It is easy to see how they fit into our squad given the price.

Not sure how sanchez fits into the squad given his massive price tag.

Jones is a 19 year old clearly bought for the future, won't play most games. Sanchez would be a huge signing and would surely be expected to play every week - who gets dropped?

Nobody of you know what Fergie's has got in mind.

I'm sure nobody predicted that we're gonna sign Jones, however due to other club's interest we signed him an year earlier. Same type of thing was done with Rooney. Why can't the same be applied to Sanchez?

I reluctantly agree with the logic, it's the main reason I was disappointed with us getting Young. However it was just an observation, as no matter who the big player is we are linked with, if he's not already in the Prem then it's met with lots of derision and Charlie Adam comments.

Well, I think we actually needed Jones when Brown is about to leave, apart from that I expect Ferdinand to play much less and eventually drop out of squad in two or three years. We were probably going to sign Jones next year but potential interest from other clubs sped things up.

On wings, however, both our options are young and likely to be at the club for years to come, and if reports are to be believed, we are closing in on another young winger who will serve us for years. Park isn't particularly old either.

And he won't cost £16m like Jones, he will cost £30m+, I think that if we are going to break the bank for someone this season it will be a midfielder. Spending £80m on two new wingers and a defender will be incredibly frustrating if we leave our midfielder in its current state.

Did we needed Wazza when he was signed?

Nanis leaving.

Well, that would make sense because we could probably get close to whay we'd be supposed to pay for Sanchez for him, but are we really going to do that and will there be a team willing to match asking price for Nani?

Lots predicting a Nani depature due to our strenght on the wings... no chance we will play Sanchez throught the centre?

Ofcourse he can. His best form for Udinese has came while playing just behind the striker.

He's better than Pedro, and id play him wide over David Villa to tbh, either way IF barcelona are interested for the price being mentioned im sure they'll find room, the're not gonna pay 35 odd million and sit him on the bench are they?

They bought Affelay not long ago, who occupies the same positions as Sanchez. Yes he's better player than him, but again - Pedro, Messi, Villa, Iniesta, Keita, Boyan, Ibrahimovic would be back, Keirrison as well, Barca have plenty of attacking options and Sanchez can displace only Pedro in that team.

Also Pedro is a local lad. Barca have thrown money left and right in the past, with Ibrahimovic and the Ukrainian defender recently, not like they don't have money to burn...

Ok so how the hell do we fit in all of these attacking players into some kind of formation...

Young, Nani, Valencia, Sanchez, Hernadez, Rooney, Berbatov... all of whom have a good case to be automatic starters... thats before we even touch on the central midfield.

Valencia--Carrick--Fletcher--Nani
--------Sanchez----Rooney-----

Or

Nani--Carrick--Fletcher--Young
-------Sanchez--Rooney------

Or...
--------De Gea--------
Rafeal----Vidic-----Evra
Young---Valencia---Park
----Sanchez---Nani----
---------Rooney--------
------Hernandez--------

When we want to score a 100 goals against Norwich

I still hope we don't buy Young. If he go for Sanchez rather than him, we'll have Nani/Valencia/Sanchez/Park for the wings, which is great.

Young is redundant and I can't see what he can bring to the table...
