You haven't seen much of the internet then.
So you an AS Roma fan spend most of the time on Man Utd forum defending your wife's favorite team.
Even for internet, that's weird. We should ask Oates to defend United on here.
Not to get sucked into another debate about Arsenal, but the injury excuse is nonsense. Look at the ridiculous amounts of defensive injuries we've racked up in recent years that made us play midfielders there, or vice-versa. Didn't stop SAF using the depth of the squad to win leagues. City had their best player (Aguero) injured for half of last season, didn't stop them winning the league.
Everyone knows the PL is a test of your squad nowadays and not your first XI, so if you can't cope with injuries it's your own fault.
If the prices going around (i.e. below £35m) are true then I think Arsenal have done really well. I really hope we either have other wingers lined up or Sanchez particularly wanted Arsenal and that's why we're not in for him. Cause otherwise I think he's a player that, at that price and age we shouldn't be missing out on.
I think he's just the sort to bring the best out of Ozil and likewise Ozil will be a player he thrives off.

Just a reminder of the numbers of the Alexis deal that is about to be confirmed: Arsenal will pay FCB £27.5 plus £2.3 for objectives. 4+1 yr
That's a bargain in my book, I'm happy with Shaw and Herrera but when I see players like Rakitic, Fabregas and Sanchez going for less then I feel clubs know we're sitting on a large pile of cash and a bit of desperation after last season means we're an easy target.
Sánchez's at his best behind the striker IMO, which is where Rooney and Mata usually play. It's not a position that's a priority. If the prices going around (i.e. below £35m) are true then I think Arsenal have done really well. It isn't for Arsenal either yet he's going there.Sánchez's at his best behind the striker IMO, which is where Rooney and Mata usually play. It's not a position that's a priority.
Yaya was their best player because of Aguero's injuries. Aguero had a better goals per game ratio than Suarez did last season. He's also their best player, which was my entire point.Yaya was their best player last season. And coping with injuries is all about the depth of your squad in regards to quality. Not all teams can cope well with 3 or 4 of their best players on the injury table. I'm not finding excuses for injuries, it's just that you folks are talking like you've never played football before. When you're missing your best players it DOES affect the team. The brilliance of a manager is trying to minimize the effect and that's where strength in depth or a manager who can motivate comes in.
I fail to see your point? It isn't for Arsenal either yet he's going there.
You say that Sanchez plays best in the #10 position. Arsenal have Özil there and are still buying Sanchez.I fail to see your point?

You make room for players of his quality.
Wouldn't surprise me if Ozil is pushed to the left (just like for Germany) so Alexis can play through the middle behind the striker.
Difference of opinion I guess. I don't think he's that good so much that you have to buy him at all cost. You say that Sanchez plays best in the #10 position. Arsenal have Özil there and are still buying Sanchez.

I just don't get why we weren't in for him. Probably one of the most exiting players to watch in the world.

Meh, not too bothered about arsenal - people were shitting themselves when they got Ozil. They always feck it up somehow, rest assured.
Imagine putting down £20 at 16/1
ITK.
For the first time in a long time; feck off Arsenal.
We don't need more #10's but how often does Sanchez play as a #10? More often then not he plays on the right drifting inside, but very much as a winger. For Chile he played like a second striker, but still as a right sided player, sort of like a wide forward if anything. He just had a lot more freedom and was the main man.Sánchez's at his best behind the striker IMO, which is where Rooney and Mata usually play. It's not a position that's a priority.
Why "at least he went there"? You do realise that Arsenal are a major title / top four rival to us?
Signing of the summer, he'll be a huge success in the premier league IMO. Potential for player of the year I think, and he'll fit right in with Ozil and co supplying him. At least he went there if he wasn't coming to United, but he would have been perfect for us. Oh well.
