Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

No idea sorry, I dont know the broader context of that particular comment. I just occasionally check ArsenalFanTV when Arsenal have an awful result because I know DT's reaction will be entertaining. Though also quite predictable, generally.

No worries. I really didn't have the heart to watch his ranting video this time around. Yet it appears from the title that he was guaranteeing that Sanchez would not be joining United. I can't imagine he has anything amounting to inside information so one has to wonder just how badly he's going react if the deal does actually go through.

Can't blame the bloke. He's not set the world on fire but trying to get him to move to Arsenal? Talk about a cruel and unusual punishment.

We should sell him back to Dortmund. It's only fair that he goes back to a team that'll challenge for the CL on a regular basis which Arsenal aren't capable of doing. We could use him to sign some sort of a pre-contract for Pulisic.

@Giggs86 i guess they want to cover themselves in case they can't convince anyone suitable to come in. Same as the summer. If they can't, Sanchez would be their best hope of salvaging 4th. Which would be worth more to them than whatever they'd get for him from us now.

Yeah that sounds reasonable, although if I was Wenger I would really question Sanchez's motivation after being left out yesterday and having negotiations with other clubs. A smart manager would get rid and focus on quality replacement. Too bad Wenger is not that kind of manager.

"Mhiky not in the right place" for the match - mentally...... or geographically? He's in London negotiating a contract.

If Mhkitaryan does go, I will actually be sad to see him go.

He's a great player, he's very intelligent too. Shame he's not settled and has been in poor form of late. When he's in form, he's so good. Think he gets a bit of a hard time on here, that's just my opinion.

We were warned by a Dortmund fan on here his form fluctuates wildly, and I guess he was exactly right. Hope it works out for him if he does go to Arsenal.

Martial is at least 3-4 years away from that, Lukaku will never be worth that imo.

I think that as Sanchez slides off into the sunset (if he signs) after leading us to CL and PL glory, Martial will slide into his wages. That's the way I'd see it anyways, with my about 4000 hours of football manager experience. :)

I would agree... And we honestly need to get rid of deadwood. Ashley Young is on 120k, Mata is on 150k, Herrera is on 100k+, Fellaini, Damian, Blind.... We've got a lot of mediocre players earning top tier wages which they don't really deserve. Lingard does not deserve to be earning anything more than 80k.

I actually watched his post Bournemouth remarks after posting that and contrary to what I said, he wasn't angry at all. Not raging, anyway. It was like when you expect your mum to be really angry with you about something and instead she's just sad, like she's lost all hope with you, and somehow it's worse.

Why does this have to be anything to do with the club I support?

Extending your logic if we signed Messi on 600k a week some people who's club couldn't sign him would say "600k a week lol"...whatever figure we pay...you can guarantee the club are paying it because they a) they have it and b) they believe him worth it. You'd love for spurs to spend 350k a week on Sanchez. You won't get to spend it anyway.

That is actually concerning. Isn't that too much? Pogba, DDG and eventually Martial and Lukaku will want similar wages, too. Aren't we blowing the wage structure out of the water?
Martial :lol::lol:

I think some of you lot really overestimate the talent that martial is currently showing.

I can't feel but help a bit sorry for Mkhi.

Ok he's been poor since coming but he's clearly had problems settling in this country and will get flung to Arsenal seemingly against his wishes.

Ah well, £100k a week and all that.

I think he might do better at Arsenal. It's no real secret that Mkhitaryan does his best work when he feels comfortable and when he feels like he has the absolute trust of his team/management. If he goes to Arsenal, he isn't going to have much competition I don't think for the positions he will be played in. At United he was in a constant war with Mata and Lingard nipping at his heels. I think if he goes to Arsenal, and he becomes de-facto one of the main men at the team, we could see the Mkhitaryan that was a beast for Dortmund.

Some players, just need that unflinching confidence from their manager/coach, and I think he's one of them. I have no other way to explain how it took him so many years to emerge at Dortmund, and then to come to United and fade. If he believes he is the guy he plays like the guy if he is looking over his shoulder or has doubts, he plays that way. Athlete psychology can be weird!

Once we sold Mkhitaryan to Arsenal, Mkhitaryan hit his form and assist a lot of goals like he did it for us at the start and we'll be wondering why he didn't do it for us?!

Convincing Mikhitaryan to leave is like this one episode from this obscure BBC children's drama with some annoying weasel-faced kid who wanted to be like Michael Owen and then Owen would appear in a sort of christ-like form to guide this boy in his football dreams and convinced him in this awful episode to persuade the best defender on the team who happened to be an Asian lad, to skip his Grandmum's funeral to play an important match. kind of.
