in the summer i suspect we will replace that position too.
My worry is in the summer we bring in another near 30 year old say Ozil, and where crowding out these young players who are likly to spend the next few years getting worse not better.

I was was referring to Sanchez's position, not Lingard's. What's wrong with competition? If the youngsters you're worried about are good enough to consistently start, they'll start regardless. Besides, having to compete for a place is far more likely to get the best out of them than giving them a free pass because we want them to develop.

Also, you mention Sanchez being near 30, but is that a bad thing? His age is pretty convenient, as once he does decline, the younger players will hopefully be ready to step up. Would you rather we sign some 26 year olds to start for many years to come (keeping the youth out for longer), or just nobody at all and take a massive risk by hoping Lingard, Rashford and co. suddenly become world class next season?
