We need him fit, I'm liking the look of how many options we have from the bench to change games when everyone's fit

He hasn't changed a single game since he's been here, man!

Apart from that last second winner against Newcastle which probably kept Jose in a job for a bit longer. He's lost the ability to change games, we need to accept what it's in front of our very eyes.

Off to China in the summer for free?
That's depend on himself whether he wanted to go there or not, if he wanted to stay, there is nothing we can do but to let him here. No other European club willing to afford his wage.

So how come pogba gets and also most everybody gets a clean slate and not him or Lukaku?

He will be a great player to come back later in the season, so we can rotate the front 3 a bit. Just needs to stop rushing himself back.

Would like to see him play a few games in the Lingard position yesterday with Martial and Rashford. Having that option would be interesting to watch.

Both Lingard and Sanchez have been on the pitch for 155 mins in the CL this season. In that time, Lingard has covered 20107m, while for Sanchez the figure is 16361m. These figures are similar to what you'd expect given their respective numbers in the CL last season. So in essence, by replacing Lingard with Sanchez, you lose 2km over 90mins.

Sanchez (9.5km per 90mins), Lukaku (9.0 km) and Martial (9.0 km) tend to cover a fairly similar distance per 90 mins. Sanchez slightly more than the other two.

Sanchez's frenetic style gives the impression he runs a lot, when the stats show the opposite. His movement off the ball is modest to say the least.

Sadio Mane (10.5 km per 90 mins). Salah (10.0). Son (10.4)

Me too and I think it is the only position available currently. However, I find it strange that it has never tried before. I hope he finds his best form again

Output is much more important and in that respect, Lingard has been very poor for an attacking player

Theyve also played different positions so doing a straight comparison between Sanchez and Lingard is not completely fair. I think with the added pace to the team and more attacking sense we are seeing, it would be interesting to see how a motivated Sanchez performs in a position surrounded by further pace.

Im not surprised it hasnt been tried given we hardly played Martial and Rashford together either previously (nor the obvious Herrera, Matic, pogba midfield)

Slowlt giving up on the little guy. Would so much love for him to be the upgrade on Lingard. Sounds good on paper but when we get to the pitch we get a player who gravitates to whoever has the ball, doesn't know how to release it quick, can no longer run at defenders and instead prefers to go off script to spam low percentage lob passes when a quick short exchange is the better

Pretty much this

On paper it looks like an upgrade, but for one reason or another we can't field that front 3. Brighton at home might be a good starting point, let's wait and see.

In the CL this season, Lingard has played right-wing, while Sanchez has started two games, he played right-wing against Valencia and centre forward against Juventus away.

I liked his performances vs Juventus and Bournemouth away in the central position but that quickly stopped then he got injured. I think he's worth a go either from the right or centrally. Anywhere but the left as we've gone round in circles with him at LW.

The reason is pretty clear. Asking Sanchez to cover the same ground as a kid and do it as fast.......

Pogba's nemesis. ( and Martial too )
He should stay away from the starting XI

How many games have we actually seen him in that front 3? Can't be more than a handful, and it was at a time when they all had one eye on covering the defence.

In games where we expect to dominate possession certainly he might be a good option. In those games closing down is less important and defences will be packed out, so his incisive passing would be useful.

I refuse to give up on any player with proven quality until they have been given a long time under a quality manager. We need a player of his quality especially against poor teams who park the bus.

If he doesn't improve - fine, let's get rid of him in the summer. But if Sanchez discovers his true form under Solskjaer - it would probably mean the difference between top 4 or not.

That's what I'm thinking as well. His supposed physical decline would be less exposed also. I think Ole can make it work to be honest.
