What's going on with him? Some amazing, jaw dropping passes in amongst a pretty average performance.

Total contrast to pre season.

An absolutely attrocious performance. Just really, really bad.

Someone has to post up how many times he lost the ball, and what his pass % was.

I haven't seen a performance that bad in a long time.
Was thinking the exact same thing. Gets the ball in a good position. Cuts. Puts a pass way behind the attacking player then complains!! That’s the craziest part

Saved his worst till last. Losing the ball with 30 seconds to go. Could have really cost us there

The stubbornness in playing him out in the left position is equivalent to managers not selling Rooney. He simply has no clue how to play football in that position. Put him in that Mata position on the right, where he can choose to go wide or spend 80% of his time in the middle. That is the position he played most successfully throughout his career.

He was really bad as a LW, Martial should have a chance there.

In which position can we get the best of Sanchez? Maybe in a different system?

If he's this shite on the left we may as well plonk him on the right, and get Martial/Rashford going on the left again

Played like Bebe tonight. Shocking performance! Looked really sharp in pre-season so hopefully this was just a day off.

For someone of his experience to give the ball away at the end like he did, is attrocious. Play him on the right and put Martial on the left, he hasn’t earned the right to play in his preferred position.

Why did we buy him? All he's done is create a headache. Already sick of him losing ball after ball and then he goes off and asks for more players. Martial was never this bad for us. If Sanchez doesn't fix up Martial should take the place again.

Played striker most of pre-season. Won't be surprised to see 3-5-2 a lot this season with him next to Lukaku.

Still seems a pointless signing.

Jeez better up his game and soon.

Not sure where he fits in a Jose Mourinho system.

How much better would we be without Sanches? All he does is work for the opposition as he always loses the ball. Always.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear.

An absolute liability.

What's going to be the excuse this season people?

It should come as no suprise that after a good rest hes looking as sharp as a razor again. Makes the comments from last certain posters last year seem all the ridiculous.

Looks like a man fired up to carry another team on his back again this pre-season. If he plays like this all season then we might get closer to City. The only player in our squad that potential wise has a Salah/Suarez/RvP season in him.

A fit and firing Sanchez will be like a new signing, his partnership with Mata is looking really good atm. I have high hopes for him this season.

Sanchez looks more sharp than in the entire second half of the season. Chile missing out on the World Cup is a blessing because Sanchez can finally have a proper pre season to build on his fitness and form. I think he should play as a second striker with Lukaku instead of on the wing. He looks better there than on the flanks.

He is a new signing ;)

Apart from that, I agree with you. He looks much more in his element now he’s bedded in more. He is a brilliant player and brilliant personality when he is in his stride.

Chile missing the WC seems to have made wonders for him

Looking sharp which is encouraging, we need him to have a big season if we are to compete.

He's been the biggest positive of preseason. Looks up for it. We're going to need him to be at his best if we have any hope of challenging for anything this season.

Never in doubt, he’s class and he’ll come good for us.

Good to know that this won't be a Torres-Chelsea situation. We can catch City if him, Pogba and DDG perform every week.

Lukaku too. I think all four will have very good seasons.

It's crazy to think Sanchez was written off so quickly. He's quality.

Wheres @Vilev? Still think hes already spent? Show us your unbiased analysis please would ya

It's almost like those 5 minutes weren't a reflection of his abilities on the last decade.

Really bad. Martial would have given us a lot more quality on that side. He is beginning to worry me slightly to be honest.

Probably as a support striker with license to roam and players flowing around in a open system.

Disgrace. Stop taking about who we should sign and complaining to your teammates when you make a bad pass.
He needs to start performing and quick.
I’d be furious if I was martial watching that.

It's incredible how many times he lost the ball tonight, especially towards the last kick at the end that led to the final corner kick for Leicester

He reminds me of Rooney when his performances started to deteriorate

He was atrocious, almost everything he did failed. But he works so hard, I can’t help but feel it’ll click for him eventually.

What an idiot.

So sloppy, at times he looks like a faster version of the latter day Rooney with how poor his short passing is when he gets into good areas.

I'll excuse him just because he was at least trying to make things happen. Covered Shaw a few times defensively too.

Feel like he should try to get more behind defences, instead of dropping deep to act as a creative player. Some of those passes will come off, but he can be very inconsistent with them.

Too had Chile had a rough WC schedule otherwise he would've had a full summer to rest up and start the season fresh.

He is going to cost Jose his job if this form continues cos I can’t see Jose dropping him

He will be fine, rules arent the same for everyone, so i dont worry about him in JM universe.

On top of looking completely finished as a top-level player, he's really unlikable for some reason.

Doesn't need to be repeated how bad he was tonight. The odd good long-range pass but that's not what he's in the side for.

Hopefully just a one-off.

Is not justifying his wages. Has shown nothing to suggest he should be playing on the left. Looks worryingly like he's past his best. Should not be used as a passer of the ball/

First game and he may grow into the season, but the worrying thing is he looks exactly the same now as he did in the last campaign.

We've no reason to carry him and he should be dropped if he doesn't show more in the team than he has done since getting to the club.
