For someone who had all the time in the world to rest and get ready for new season he surely looks completely spent. Last season people were saying "he is tired, he needs proper pre-season", i somehow get the idea there will be need for a new excuses come august.

What are you talking about ? He has been great this preseason so far. Tonight him and Mata had zero service as they were the only 2 attacking players. Both can't be evaluated today at all, otherwise you are bringing you agenda here as there's no other reason.

If Alexis looks spent in this pre season, I don't know who looks fit...

mainly our opponents, liverpool players were like 2-3 times faster today.

So a 'no service' broken record. How Sanchez was great is beyond me. We had totally awful attacking game in every single game we played regardless of opposition. That is Sanchez's direct responsibility on the pitch, attack i mean.
Sure it is only pre-season, but i already have serious notion that we will the same Sanchez that was here last season. Some great episodes with a lot of average or even below efforts. That is what i've seen from here in pre-season so far as well.

Faster at what? So called spent Alexis pretty much brushed off their pressing and not just couple occasions they resorted to clumsy foul. You don't need to foul a spent Alexis, he is gonna gift you the ball anyways by CAF past CEO tha logic, no?

So surely you see the wider issue?

Sanchez will definitely be like last season. Probably slightly better in terms of numbers. But he's going to struggle a lot. Likewise our other attacking players. Get used to it.

You mean higher up the chain so to speak. Yep, i do. And do think that it is the main problem.
I also think that Sanchez arrival is part of that problem. He is a good player obviously, but whether he fits here and if he was a good investment given his salary is remains to be seen.
Faster at what?
At everything really, the game was extremely one-sided.

He appears a bit sharper this season than what I remember from the tail end of last season. However, he is definitely still missing something in his top speed running off the ball. Remember seeing that video the other day of Sane running with the ball passed Van Dijk like he wasn't there? I know Sane is rapid, but still, for comparison yesterday Van Dijk only needed to jog to recover back and tackle against a "full pelt" Sanchez. He just doesn't have the pace to be a centre forward and get away from defenders over anything more than a few yards.

All of his best work yesterday was as a no. 10, turning with the ball quickly and then making through balls in to whoever is making runs in front of him (yesterday, Mata). The big problem with this though, as demonstrated at times last season, is that Sanchez's best work is the same type of thing in the same areas of the pitch as Pogba's best work, and Sanchez often ends up stepping on Pogba's toes.

Sanchez also a couple of times again yesterday showed that he still has his very irritating habit of doing an excellent turn to beat a defender and get in to space, but then even when he then has good options to pass to he inexplicably decides to dribble back again in to touble, getting dispossessed in the process.

He's an alright option to have, but I still don't really think he's what United need and has added much extra to the team. He should be a bit better again next season, but he creates as many issues as he solves. I also echo the sentiments of those here expecting him to be basically dead on his feet again way before the season has finished.

There is 22 men on the pitch. Game one sided is not the work of 1 man.

At everything yet they couldn't win the ball clean and resorted to foul.

Maybe you watched a wrong player the whole time?

The one who benefited the most from this tour, him and Periera. Hopefully he carries this performance in the upcoming league matches

Looks promising. It's a shame we won't have many of our first choice players to help him immediately when he is in this form. He has to get used to playing with the second string team for the first few league games and then with our regular starters when they come back. I hope he kicks on regardless of the chopping and changing we will experience in the first few weeks.

This guy never stops. Player of the season shaping for him nicely

VERY encouraged by Sanchez's effort and quality tonight. He will have a great season IMO and I thought he had a very lively and quality US tour.

If you look at Alexis' season's in the PL. 14/15- Very good, 15/16- Good(bit of a drop off) 16/17-Excellent, 17/18 - Fair(big drop off). Hopefully this season we get another Very good/Excellent season.

He came here to play with bigger names and to win things but he actually seems the most happy when he is not, i mean he loves to be the guy that carries a weak team with his effort. I love it tho, I just hope he doesn't slack when the eyes aren't on him constantly.

It should come as no suprise that after a good rest hes looking as sharp as a razor again. Makes the comments from last certain posters last year seem all the ridiculous.

Sánchez has been playing better as striker (352) than winger.

Maybe he could continue in a good level next to Lukaku with Mata/Lingard behind them. Also, we have good strikers to cover him in Rashford and Martial.

Where would you play Sanchez?

Uptop with Lukaku.

Diamond midfield for 3 at the back. We don't have any real wingers anyway.

I’m hopeful for Dalot.

Left hand side isn’t great though.

I agree on both. Alex Sandro or Kieran Tierney would have been great additions to balance things up.

Looks like a man fired up to carry another team on his back again this pre-season. If he plays like this all season then we might get closer to City. The only player in our squad that potential wise has a Salah/Suarez/RvP season in him.

How do we play him then ? There is no way Lukaku gets benched and Sanchez is thriving up top

There’s nothing to suggest he will not play well on the left. He played well there in his first pre-season game. I’d personally want Sanchez left, Lukaku central and Rashford or Jessi on the right to start with.

Haven’t gotten to see much of the games, but I’m very happy that Sanchez seems to be looking ready for the season.

We desperately need him firing for us this year, so hopefully he carries this good form into the games that matter.

A fit and firing Sanchez will be like a new signing, his partnership with Mata is looking really good atm. I have high hopes for him this season.

Would honestly push to get him a front two. He just drifts into already congested areas when on the left. He should be as close to Lukaku as possible - they need to support each other and develop some real chemistry. If they click they could be an unplayable force.

Sanchez looks more sharp than in the entire second half of the season. Chile missing out on the World Cup is a blessing because Sanchez can finally have a proper pre season to build on his fitness and form. I think he should play as a second striker with Lukaku instead of on the wing. He looks better there than on the flanks.

He is a new signing ;)

Apart from that, I agree with you. He looks much more in his element now he’s bedded in more. He is a brilliant player and brilliant personality when he is in his stride.

Chile missing the WC seems to have made wonders for him

I was really worried that we'd signed Sanchez and he was never going to get back to his old form, but these recent signs are encouraging.

Just imagine how disastrous it would have been if he never made it into the states!.

Looking sharp which is encouraging, we need him to have a big season if we are to compete.

He's been the biggest positive of preseason. Looks up for it. We're going to need him to be at his best if we have any hope of challenging for anything this season.
