He has been terrible! United beating Cardiff won’t make him a better/fitter/sharper player.

But I love the positivity around here suddenly
You have seen our players right? Even Matic was great. So there is a fair chance that Alexis will also show much better form

Really looking forward to his comeback so he can prove he is not one of the biggest flops in Premiership history. I think Jose might have been really hampering his ability to reproduce his Arsenal form here.

Wish him all the best to recover as soon as possible and I have a funny feeling he is going to do special things with Ole at the helm.

We will just have to wait and see, no one really knows the answer. He’s now got a great opportunity to revive his career, he hasn’t been good enough - is we will see whether it’s him or the effect of the manager. I hope we can see the old Sanchez, as he was one of the best players in the league.

I really hope so as well mate as I hate to see decent players careers decline so rapidly whatever team they play for but especially if they play for us.

The old Sanchez is gone. He's lost his pace, Arsenal fans were talking about it at the start of 17/18 and it's been the same with us, Delaney in the Independent even reported that he had lost to Mata in the clubs sprint tests.

Best case is we get his crippling wage bill off the book asap (it's making our current contract negotiations with De Gea and Martial a nightmare). If we can't in January then give him games on the right wing until the summer because it's our weakest position anyway.

Ultimately he's just another signing we should never have made that did us more harm than good. A shame because he used to be one of my favourite non-United players, even going back to his Udinese days. We just did our usual mistake of buying him way too late in his career.

He might give us 1.5 good seasons in a better attacking set up.

We're better off getting rid, get him off the wage bill even if we have to subsidise it - make a point to the players it was a stupid contract and we're not handing out any more of them. Then we go and buy a proper RW finally.

I agree with a lot of your post but I still want him to succeed here as I any United player.

The club made a monumental mistake paying him that much money not sure of figure have heard its anything from £350,000 to £500,00 per week. Whoever sanctioned this deal should have been able to see the potential feck up this could cause in the future.

I am happy to give somewhere who has been here and put in consistent performances that they deserve. De Gea is an example of this. In my opinion he is our best player and deserves to be top earner however that much be as I think that is how clubs should operate, if your the best you get paid the best.

Where we fecked ourselves over is that any player who comes in ans thinks they are as good as Sanchex is at least going to want the same wages. I think he was a luxury signing by the 'Toxic One' to try to get one over in hid pointless war against Pep, which I doubt even Pep gives a feck about.

So far Sanchez has been almost 100% waste of money for United. Sell him! Over at the Arsenal forums, they started yelling at him 2 years ago, and they don't miss him.

"Again he was poor in a big game with his constant poor decisions and lack of awareness stifling the teams attacking momentum."

Most final-third passes misplaced this season:

Alexis Sanchez (239)
Christian Benteke (182)
Troy Deeney (182)

Hopefully with the team playing more dynamic football he finds it easier to make positive contributions and gets some confidence back. Because even if we want to sell him at some point, I don't know who's going to pay a transfer and such big wages for someone who looks like this. If he doesn't show improvements this season then we've got the Rooney case again, or very similar at least.

He’d be in heaven with players moving around him like they did in the Cardiff game

Not sure where he'd get in the team right now. Think he should be rotation with Rashford / Jesse.

At some point I'd like to see a fluid front three with Martial, Rashford and Alexis moving all around and interchanging positions, with fullbacks reaching the end and Pogba coming from behind to give the killer pass.

It's amazing the possibilities we've got with our current squad, all the different things that we can do and how it's been constantly misused in the last 6 years, always in pro of more conservative systems. I hope we've seen the end of this terror film already.

I think this would do wonders as an interchangeable front 3 are mayhem to defend against and in my opinion would make us much more effective.

Interesting points.

I thought we lined up as a 433 yesterday, but I seem to recall the best maps made it look like a 4231 with Lingaard sitting behind the strikers.

With the senior players I mentioned, I think we have the fluidity to mix it up between the two formations. Gomes appears to be a better central player, but positions may not matter as much in the fluid play we had yesterday

Pretty much a narrow 4-3-3 but with bombing fullbacks that were closer to being midfielders

I wrote Sanchez off months ago but after watching our players actually play last weekend, I'm excited to see what he's gonna do with his chance.

If he regains form a front 3 of Martial-Sanchez-Rashford/Lingard could be amazing. At least 3 of the mentioned 4 have a work rate any manager would love.

Lingard is very central there, while Rashford seems to be dropping back. We can look very disjointed with little coming down the right, but on Saturday the movement offered players in that position

Whatever the formation that along with the tactics seems made for Sanchez. We arn't relying on traditional wingers we arn't going to shoehorn him on the flank and if He is put in a wider position (an inside forward) then there is the fluidity and freedom for him to take up dangerous positions

I bet he can't wait to get fit!

Could we try something like that?

Martial------Rashford/Alexis------Alexis/Rashford
------------Pogba--------Lingard/Fred

Some very damning statements in here. sanchez has lost a lot of pace but it means feck all in this new United team. I have no doubt he will be very effective in the striker role or on the right wing. he has just turned 30 but is still has his natural abilities. Lets give him a chance ffs! I know Lingard has been very good for us this year but against the very best we need real Quality. If we can get him firing its only a good thing. Sanchez firing and lingard coming of the bench is a very deadly combo.

Cant believe how one game has really changed the persepctive of how we view this United team. Right now i feel the only areas we are lacking might be CB and RB.

Based on? His performances a couple of years ago??
As Ole said, everyone gets a clean slate and a fresh start. Whatever the reason the players were not playing for Jose, there is a new philosophy and I would not write anyone off turning up against PSG, including Sanchez and Lukaku.

The way Ole set up in the first game means Sanchez would probably be suited as a left forward or striker.

Not sure he has it in him to play the role Lingard played. I'd have Mata in that position.

second half of this game he played very well on the right. This game was during the international break in November so its very recent. I think he also scored 2 goals in this game if im not mistaken. He should get very accustomed to playing on the right. It would do us a whole lot of good. Could also cover very well on the left if martial needs to be rested. Problem solved.

Just thinking about it if this guy comes good the rest of the season we might actually be very well stacked with premium attackers.

Class is always permanent. I really look forward to his return to the team, could give us another dimension. Maybe he will be the difference for us against PSG

Under Ole, this would rip most teams to utter shreds...

----------------------DDG--------------------
Dalot---------Bailly-------Lindelof-------Shaw
Herrera-------------Matic--------------Pogba
Rashford-----------Martial----------Sanchez

How often did he give the ball away there?

Ole is spreading the love. Hopefully he’ll get Sanchez’ United career going.

Most player I'm looking forward to what he's going to provide in our current setup.

In the traditional easier games I can definitely see us pushing Pogba a bit deeper in a 2 with Matic and then having Lingard as most advanced of a midfield 3 and then the front 3 how you put it. Rashford on the right with Sanchez central could work but could equally work the opposite way. Just depends on which Sanchez shows up. Will he be motivated to succeed at United, and if he is, then he could really give us another level from an attacking sense. I think we'll see plenty of rotation regardless, having Rashford, Martial, Sanchez, Lukaku and Lingard is great for any team and we should be seeing great attacking football from them. Ole being who he is will relish having that depth at his disposal and I think we'll always see one being subbed on for the other and different partnerships depending on who is performing.

We all have our favourites, but I don't think any of us would complain if we saw fair rotation. Mourinho was stubborn and just kept Sanchez and Lukaku in every game for way too long, and then he just freezes out players when they don't perform. It's never a normal, fair rotation situation with Mou, but just picking his favourites.

I really can't wait to see Alexis in the team now. The way its setup it should fit him very well especially in the No.9 position with lots of movement around him.

One thing for sure is we'll be able to say definitively if he's finished or not.

Seems like he's in contention for Sundays game. Got back sooner than expected.

Martial Rashford and Sanchez, pressing, hustling and running at you.

This is my dream definite and permanent line up. Hopefully after this festive period and when everything is said and done this line up becomes the definite one.

Last time Mourinho mentioned him it sounded like it would be well into January before he was back, but now he's likely to be on the bench on Sunday.............

If Ole can get Sanchez back to his best, he'll be brilliant in this side. The playing style will suit him perfectly.
