Against bournemouth he was very good. Against palace he was solid at least

He wasn't bad I'd say - Generated some more flow, but he had these terrible throw-the-ball-away moments. It's just been a while since he's gone and did something that actually made us produce a goal.

To me he's sort of a symptom of what is wrong with many of the players: We really need someone playing stable that we can rely on. It's so annoying that no one in the team is playing stable and good week in and week out, like a Willian type of player. Pogba, Lukaku, Sanchez, Rashford, Matic. They're all unstable and they rarely click at the same time.

He’s 10 times the player Lingard is even when playing bad. Jose is just an idiot. Should be playing right wing or forward if Lukaku isn’t starting.

It's a joke he's not in the squad. The whole situation is a joke. Jose needs to feck off or we'll be introducing the next manager to our best players Fellaini, Jones, McTominay and Lingard - everyone else will have (rightly) fecked off.

Mourinho confirmed Sanchez wasn't injured tonight, just wasn't selected

Weird he's not selected, must be the easiest player in the squad to coach.
"Alexis, win the ball..."
"Alexis, pass the ball..."
"Alexis, score a goal..."

Biggest flop of all time. He should be ashamed himself, an embarrassment of riches too. Absolutely disgusting from him not to be even performing in training.

I feel sorry for him. He might be declining but United have brought the absolute worst out of him. Another team/manager would get more out of him I'm convinced .

I have lamented this signing for a long time as a complete disaster. However it's weird how Sanchez is now dropped after it being evident that the player he should be playing instead of one of Mourinho's favourites - Lukaku.

Mourinho just doesn't care. And some think he's best for the club they love. That's life I guess.

Off to PSG/China in January? The situation is just bizarre.

Not even a little, tiny chance he goes to PSG. I wish people would stop bringing them up in some make-a-wish to get rid of him.

So...maybe China then? Yes it is wishful thinking in many respects but something clearly isn't right in this situation and I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to leave. His wages will be a problem though.

That's all there is to it, and it is a big one. I'm sure he may be interested already in leaving, and I wouldn't be surprised if United felt the same. The problem is, he hasn't shown enough here to make him an attractive prospect for any clubs. The worst part is that even if he did perform since he's come here, his wages are too steep for most clubs to afford him given his age. Any team that could afford him simply don't need him as they have better options already in place.

China is probably the best bet if Alexis is unable or unwilling to find his place on the team, which I hope isn't the case because I think China is still a long shot and so you're pretty much stuck with him. I'd much rather see him persevere up front and get himself into a rhythm but the fact that he wasn't even on the bench today is not a good sign.

I still believe that a progressive coach (e.g. Pochettino, Klopp, Guardiola) would get a lot more out of him; even if he isn't quite as good as he used to be.

A good manager brings the best out of his players; Mourinho does the opposite.

Highest paid player in England has only played his his favoured position twice.
Please get rid of this man.

He's still a very good player, and I'm not surprised he plays like shit. Tell me one player that Jose gets the best out this season....

Looked good in recent games he played and with q competent manager, he will be a great asset for us.

At the moment, Jose is wasting the talent of a player in his peak years

My sincere hope is that we feck off that man before we start losing players.

I had just assumed he had a knock, I just can't fathom this - seems to me like there is more to it. Yes he's been underwhelming since his arrival but he was undroppable last season. Finally gets a couple of games up top vs Juve and Bournemouth and played well - then he's nowhere to be seen. He was also bright off the bench on Saturday so I was convinced he would get a start last night. Just bizarre, this isn't a player who is new to the league or a youngster who we should be easing in, it's a Premier League proven quality player.

I feel like such a muppet for how happy I was when we swapped him for Mkhitaryan.

Was convinced he would be class for us and take us to the next level.

I'm more disappointed in his performances than I was with Di Maria and Falcao.

"No, Sanchez is not injured," Mourinho clarified.

I don't get all the surprise on here. Under-performing player gets dropped. He was given more starts than he deserved last spring and now Martial has taken his place.
Yes but lately he played two solid games. And there are some players whose form is awful and still play in first 11. Alexis not even on the bench is a such stupid thing to do.

He was much better in the two games he played upfront and looked to building some momentum so why he's out again I don't understand. He shouldn't be competing with Martial for one position because they are two of our better players . what have Lukaku, Rashford done to be selected ahead of him? To not be in squad is baffling

I think that the club has finally accepted that they wasted Mkhitaryan's fee when they swapped him for Sanchez, and that his ludicrously obscene wages mean that we'll be lucky to find anyone fool enough to take him (and the problem that he is) from us.
Keeping him out of the matchday squad is just Jose trying to freeze him out as a big FU to Ed.

He scored the winner v Newcastle, and had a couple of tidy games as the central striker, so it seems very bizarre to completely leave him out.

In a season where Lukaku has scored 4, and Rashford 2, by the end of November it's an absolute joke of a season attacking wise so far.

All these guys can't just suddenly be crap. They can't be, can they?

It's a neutral result at the moment, as Mhky isn't exactly wowing it up at Arsenal.
Needless to say though, that wow factor that we'd brought him in has utterly disappeared.

Ironically, in August Sanchez was unhappy Man Utd had failed to sign more world class players to play around him.
