Got to be up there with Torres and Shevchenko as one of the most baffling flops in the past 10-15 years of the PL era. I mean things can go bad and a player can lose form at a new club or not quite be as good as they were for the previous club but the decline shouldn't be THIS drastic.

I've read in a couple of places, including the Guardian, that Sanchez wants to leave in January. Wonder if there's any legs to this story?

I'd take money off PSG ALL day long. He's been absolutely shite for us with no signs of improving. Cya, Sanchez!

Shame it hasn’t worked, but if he wants out then that should mean he’s willing to compromise on wages at least so hopefully makes things easier. No transfer fee probably, but we’d only waste the money anyway.

Shame also we didn’t bring him in when Ronaldo left, or made a stronger play for him during the “value” years, but we are were we are now and it’s not worked, so move lets on.

Let him go and spend all his wages on Dembele. Or Veratti. Or Rabiot. Would also keep Adidas sweet if we're constantly replacing our number 7.
3 players with known attitude issues are the last thing on this earth we need.

Every good player that comes into the club turns into a failure - something is fundamentally wrong with the dynamic of our club.

Wouldn't it be convenient if PSG, who have Mbappe, Cavani, Draxler, Neymar, Di Maria (just re-signed), along with their own youth players who are showing good signs like Nukunku and Diaby, would decide to not use an ounce of logic and go for a player that hasn't shown form over a year but would be one of their highest paid salary coming into the team where there is no spot for him?

Yeah, makes sense.

It will be a real challenge for any European club to want to take him on, he's overpaid and is showing signs of decline. A few months off can be form, a whole year or more becomes problematic, nevermind the insane wages.

Nobody wants him as his wages are too high. He maybe released on a free because of them.

I think he was poor at first but last few games he’s been good I thought..growing into the team, more things coming off- at Juventus he looked good. He also looked good playing through the middle.
He’s not been perfect but let’s give him a chance if he wants to keep progressing.

Total and utter failure. I don't buy the whole "he's being playing better the past few games". He was brought in to hit the ground running and score goals. His capture only stifled the development in one of our most creative players in Martial.

The best for both parties is to cut ties and move on.

Why will he agree to cut ties. He is paid handsomely

If he were to leave tomorrow he’d be yet another massive flop. We are constantly making terrible signings, many of whom don’t even seem to really want to be here, it’s shocking. It’s not just the manager that’s doing that. It can’t be. Our scouts have to take some flack for recommending easily demotivated or mentally weak players

He's just not Jose's type of forward, not big enough.
Jose doesn't know how to use our forwards because his tactics are too one dimensional. Makeshift wingers being made to hug touchline and cross to a target man who couldn't trap a bag of cement
Why he never tried even two striker system I don't understand.

None of United's wingers are being made to hug the touchline.

Imagine if it was Martial who after losing his place starts pining to leave, you wouldn't hear the end of it on the caf with peeps tripping over themselves to label him "soft mentality", "weak" and the likes..

That being said, I wouldn't want Sanchez to leave yet as I feel he can nail down that CF position if we can stick with him for a couple more matches

Don't know who to go with. On one hand Jose can be a bit of a tit to new age stars with his blunt style, on the other hand Sanchez can also by all accounts be a tit and primadonna. Their union was always going to either work seamlessly or fail miserably

For most of our players I'd say keep them for the next manager but the opportunity to offload those wages are too good to pass up. He might actually be open to a reduced contract to get his move and we wouldn't have to pay the difference. Our other players also stop using him as a benchmark for their contract negotiations if we get him off our books

Sanchez was much better playing as a number 9 while he was getting to play off our other forward players in Martial and Rashford. I believe he was stifled in the other position due to lack of movement in our side, with Lukaku up front we are incredibly static. A player of Sanchez's quality does not just suddenly lose his capabilities, I think back to so many games when he has played clever little forward balls which end up nowhere and the reason is we have no movement! He has created numerous chances that our team has not managed to finish.

Give him a run as our number 9 and see what happens - our main issue is he doesn't have many other technically sound players to bounce off which he did have at Arsenal. I want to see him play through the middle and watch his understanding with our left side blossom, if we have Martial, Sanchez and Pogba on song we could be devastating down that left side which would leave gaps on the right.. quite unfortunate we do not have a gifted right sided player who could exploit this.

He'll move on and do really well, I'm certain he's still a top player but our system suffocates any attacking guile or flair at the minute.

You need to be able to convince other clubs to believe that because I doubt Sanchez is going to accept getting paid less, and I'm pretty sure there isn't a club out there in Europe willing to pay him what, or even close to what, United is paying him at the moment. The few clubs who could currently afford him have no need for him.

Didnt Lingards form coincided with his own relationship problems? From Messi like form down to current form.

His head has gone.

This is fecking bs. How do they know what he is contemplating? So you're not allowed to sit alone somewhere without making headlines.

Football journalism is a bloody joke.

I feel for him a bit coz he can never have imagined things would have gone so unbelievably badly here, but we need to get rid if we have any chance this summer coming.

Is he called up by Chile for the internationals?

Yes. Chile played against Costa Rica and lost, 2–3. Alexis struck a poor penalty shot which was saved, but scored a goal later on in the match.

Of course, that didn't make its way into this thread ahead of Alexis' personal life, since he sat alone on some bench.

Cheers mate. Hopefully the goal gives him some confidence. He badly needs it

He's scored 2 goals in 2 games for Chile, why aren't people talking about this more?

Also, does anyone know what position he played for Chile in these games?
