Loved him in the 2nd half as a central midfielder. Said it from the beginning - play him in a 3 alongside Pogba and Matic because he can playmake and defend. Absolutely brilliant there tonight.

Wow that is a really bizarre post. Firstly his passing was awful today for the most part. Secondly while he did a little bit better when he played as a no. 10 in the second half, a large part of this was due to him seeing less of the ball. Very poor performance.

Am I the only one who think he was decent?
Nope, I do - especially when played as a CM in the 2nd half. Could've had a couple of assists tonight. Hope to see more of his as CM in a 3.

When Alexis tries to play free, it shows a lot of clutter. Mou must give him a specific role and force him to comply, O winger or as a second striker not both.
He did not play well today. In general the team played horrible, lacked more concentration and attitude.

He has to move to the right long term.

Quite besides the fact that we've got more options on the left anyway it's pretty obvious that him and Pogba want to play in the same spaces on the left hand side.

Despite countless errors on start of his United journey I still think he can be soul of this club.

He got fight in him and right experience to adjust his game to the new team.

On form he is not even close to being worth a place in the team.

His passing in general was very poor in the first half, but when he went to CM he was dictating the game and could've had a couple of assists.

Nah I think he was alright. A bit annoying that he decided that almost every attack today had to be a couple of 1-2s through the middle of their defence.

It’ll come good eventually. I’m just eternally greatful he’s not playing under Van Gaal. He would never play again after that performance.

This. He was really active in the 2nd and was all over the pitch making passes, runs, everything.

Slow start but I’m sure he will be fine. Very hard signing in Jan. Mata didn’t score a goal in 3 months but then scored 5 within the final month of the season.

He's a bright spark and it doesn't always come off, I get that.

I feel like he deserves a bit of slack given how poor our attack is in general.

He's been very average so far. Like the Lingard of last year.

Jose should really think about how best to fit him into a team that clearly doesn't need him to play on the left.

He's affecting the balance of the team. He always wants the ball, which is fine, and the players oblige, always! This limits our play, we need to vary it sometimes, play it long, out to the wing etc. With Sanchez, it's always through the middle and more often then not he loses it. I think he needs to be benched, play Martial on the left and Mata on the right.

I think he was OK. But there's a clear difference between him and Mkhi. The guy doesn't give up, at all, and I wouldn't be surprised if that determination spreads through the team. Worked his socks off and had moments of quality in there, too. I do feel as if he gets fouled far too much.

He's still playing like he's at Arsenal. Those one-touch passes look great when they come-off but the 95% they don't it's just wasting a possession and it's frustrating when it's clearly not the optimal choice most of the time. He's so gifted technically and I appreciate his effort but he makes a lot of poor decisions.

I didn't think his work rate was anything exceptional.

Might be repeating myself, but him and Pogba don't gel well on the left. Get him on the right where roaming wherever he wants isn't as much of an issue.

He'll come good he has too much quality not to! He has the right attitude and work ethic he just needs time.

He's too central, Sanchez that is and is almost getting in Pogbas way. Needs to stay out wide or on the bench for Martial!

Not good enough today, and hasn't been for a few games now. Yes, he's new and all, but he's not even getting the basics right, which is completing simple 5 yard passes.

Based on performances, he shouldn't start vs Pool.

Thought he was poor in both halves

He is worse than Mkhi right now. I do think he will improve hugely though.

Its no coincidence he looked better when Mata came on, but his all round play really is bad at the moment and if it was say a Rashford he would be getting slated for it,and rightfully so.

Was the same with Ibra I felt. They both deliver but need to curb their hunger to always get on the ball

Fair enough! Personally, I'm hoping to see more of him as a CM because he can contribute in defence, and he takes a weight off Pogba's shoulders in that the playmaking doesn't all fall on his shoulders. I'm not holding my breath, though!

He is playing like Nani in his worst form, but Nani in his worst form at least had one or two good shots and dribbles per game. Alexis has one or two decent passes. Also, Nani in his worst form would be subbed off at half time for this and nowhere to be seen for next 30 days.

Again, this is a very typical Sanchez match and why I had reservations about him before the signing. He makes a lot of bad decisions, gives the ball away stupidly in selfish ways, frustrates the hell out of his team while throwing his arms around as if he is the only one trying. However, he keeps going, keeps being brave in his play, showing for the ball and is not afraid of looking stupid trying the difficult.

Even when he starts to score these issues will be in his game, it is who he has been his entire career.

Hits the crossbar for our second, great ball in prior to our third - he was part of the ones settling this for us - he is extremely far ahead of Mkhitaryan

I don’t think he’s being utilised properly. He’s capable of far more than this, but it may take until next season to really see it.

Well put. And he doesn’t have the speed to trouble defenders that Nani had either. On the other hand, great agility, and normally fantastic close control.

Frustrating. I wonder how long we'll be able to be patient with him. I like him and appreciate his efforts, but seriously need to make more serious contributions. At the moment, the downside to his game is too much in comparison to his contributions.

how many times did he lose the ball - around 35 I'd guess

his pass completion must be around 20% tonight

must improve soon
