Alright, it's a flip a coin for me between the two. Perhaps France a bit higher.
Not sure man, obviously it's super opinionated, for me the overall quality of Italy especially with the huge injections to the Milan clubs, gives a better overall league, but Monaco definitely made sure France can't be sniffed at, although PSG did the exact opposite!

It might be Italy being the better one this season, depending on Milan teams indeed.

France aren't really a big league, they're definitely not, can't be grouped with the top 4, they have strong teams at the top of the scale with Monaco and PSG but the overall league quality is so dire it makes me sad, i hate to disagree with you because well, it's you.

lol france are a big league. They are part of the BIG 5. Also i'd say half of the league is a notch below, but top 7-8-9 are good clubs that can put out a game against its counterparts in the other leagues.

Still a lot of players that move from France to any of the other 4 leagues have done extremely well.

What i like about this guy is that atletico madrid had him sewn up until their transfer ban cropped up on them. That club never seems to go wrong regarding strikers so im hoping he's the genuine deal.

If he get us 25 goals in all competitions than he's worth every penny in this current market.

Lyon are better than almost all the italian teams outside of Juventus and they are having a good transfer window. Same thing with Nice who are better than Lyon and pretty close to Monaco. PSG failed during one game, one game doesn't change anything.

10 of the 28 goals weren't penalties. It's out of 37 goals. Get your facts straight.

Perhaps check your own facts before going in at a fellow poster and looking like an idiot in the process.

He's going to be the best striker in Arsenal since Henry, might be even better for them. I'm really affraid of him with Alexis and Özil. Probbably one of the best attacking options in the league, but the rest of the team shouldn't worry us. I hope those three won't carry the team like Coutinho, Mane and Firmino in L'pool

The French league are better now than before. PSG are a strong club as are Monaco (CL semi), so the league is definitely growing in stature. A good player like Lacazette is ready for a move up to the Prem.

Lacazette will probably do his thing and score ~20 goals but I don't see him transforming Arsenal.

Well then, let's wait. People don't want to hear anything good about him in terms of being compared to the legends, but just wait I hope he's just one of those players that played for Arsenal and nothing more.

I agree with that, unless he becomes more "aggressive" in his game, he will just be a good/very good player but not great.

Arsenal will probably still have a soft center and a mistake-prone defense as they usually do. Like City, they don't scare me until they address those issues. We can always count on both of those clubs to play pretty, intricate attacking football but that's not always enough.

Have watched him on number of occasions. A very good striker and a lethal finisher but I have never been a huge fan of his. Very slow and he goes missing when things are going tough. Having said that he is a better striker than giroud and will take his chances. So definitely a good signing for arsenal. But if they lose Sanchez then they will start the season weaker. Lacazatte is no sanchez.

I think this is the perfect team for him in England. With all the french connections he's got a good chance of making it. It's also a risky transfer because these soft forwards can get stone cold in the PL. Players like Borini or Stéphane Guivarc'h to name two.

FFS, you didn't had to insult Lacazette!

From what I have seen and read I would rate him on level with Morata.
So not bad business given nowadays prices.

I think the fact that he stayed so long at Lyon and he can't get a sniff on the international level hurt his value, but he is a great striker. I think he will have a big impact on Arsenal. They got a good one.

yea lyon don't often play with the big boys PSG aside so this may have hurt his chances internationally.

If he can show us how good he is displacing Giroud at club level and putting up similar numbers with the great strikers in this league, then deschamps won't have any choice but give him more chances for france as well.

He kind of killed 2 birds with 1 stone, coming to a better club and better league to prove himself plus dislodging the obstacle in front of him in the french setup

Are you talking about speed? If so I doubt you've watched him as much as you claim.

He will score a lot of goals and hasn't cost them a ridiculous price. Good signing.

But Italy is for some reason?
Italy - 12
France - 1

If you are talking about here and now, Juventus is better than any French side as they proved in the CL. I would also back both Roma and Napoli to give PSG and Monaco a very even game.

Uhm, is the 12 and 1 reference to the CL? How is it relevant at the moment?

Juventus is the best out of the lot, sure, but that's about it. I wouldn't put either Roma nor Napoli above PSG or Monaco, then you've got OL who's probably on par with Roma, worse than Napoli.

If Arsenal lose Sanchez then it's still no improvement. If they keep him then their attack is vastly improved.

Still have issues elsewhere mind.

Few times i seen him, not overly impressed. Hopefully for them he will step up.

what ? The Roma team that Lyon beat in the EL, the same Lyon team that is much worse than PSG and Monaco at the moment ? I know football isn't as simple as that if A>B and B>C then A>C but come on, this is absolutely ridiculous.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Lyon finished fourth for example and still managed to beat Roma quite convincingly in the Europa League. Obviously one game doesn't say much but it's difficult to see how the Italian league is superior to the French one based on last season at least.

I don't see how the level of the French league is that significant when it comes to gauging how well he will for Arsenal. The style of the team, league, team structure, experience, etc ... play a much bigger part in how well a player does as opposed to a simple equation of the merits of the specific leagues.

He might be better for Arsenal than Henry was? Well that sounds incredible so why has he spent his career in a 2nd rate league and why does he struggle to get in the France squad? Not even the France XI...the squad?

He's a great player, anyone trying to convince themselves otherwise are kidding themselves. Question is whether he can make the step up to a bigger team.
