What a huge disappointment this would be.

Lukaku has no first touch, no passing ability or even an idea of link up play. His only good trait is finishing. Lacazette is a much better option.

Good player if you intend to play a game around movement and technique, ideally he would play for Sarri or replace Aubameyang at Dortmund. If I try to be controversial, he is better than Aubameyang.
And early in his career he was a winger.

For me his hold up play is unconvincing. Only makes sense to me if we are making Rashford first choice.
You need to be able to do much more in a top team.
And besides, why is being able to score pen a problem now ? There are some one a kind level idiotic posts on the caf at times.
He's strong and fast with an eye for goal. Decent holdup play but likes to get in behind. Think we could do better though.

That last bit surprised me, I've not watched Lyon much in the last season, I thought he looked good when paired with Fekir in that great season Lyon had a couple of years back. He doesn't seem a lone striker to me so we'd have to play a tight front 3 or use a 2 striker system IMO.
