Ayling had him on toast tonight. His inexperience told.

Except for that time when he went past him a few times. And the time he was through on goal and had an effort cleared off the line. Other than that, TOAST.

Just 18 and recently only Rashford is able to make a bigger buzz than him. The best thing, he's not looking remotely fazed about weaker performances and just keeps attacking.

Just a few tweaks here and there, decision making and better control in moment he receives ball under pressure and he'll be a football machine.

I really didn't think he looked too bad yesterday? It wasn't his greatest performance but pretty much all of our chances came through him in the first half, he was just unlucky not to finish any of those chances off. He's still young and learning anyway, there will be off games.

He really wasn’t too bad. He was robbed of the ball a few times and countered. He also missed a good chance. He looked bright. I don’t think shifting the team around last night really came off and he looks to be a better option off the bench against tired legs and minds for now. He’s pretty two footed too. I would have preferred him on the right cutting in if anything,

Looks like he was trying too hard at times which always happens with the young uns. He's playing well enough to earn the minutes he needs to develop that's all that matters.

It's fine. He's 18 - they all go through a phase where they have to figure their game out after the initial honeymoon phase.

He was lively and was up for it, but his finishing touch and passing wasn't fantastic last night.

He's only making his way into the team, he's got a fantastic future ahead of him.

I mean Garnacho wasn't great but he also wasn't helped by the fact that all of our attacks were going through him in the first half. Even then he also just, like, wasn't that bad? I can't understand why he's being criticised so heavily.

Weird situation with him, he probably isn’t ready for this level and ideally would be on loan, but even with a lot of the poor choices he makes he can be such a threat at times. Just the direct fearless intention to beat his man. Makes such a difference to the team, but at times he looks so unbalanced and weak, making poor decisions and errors.

He getting a load of time now with us so probably best just to keep putting him in and hoping it speeds up his learning curve.

He was utterly wank. Yong and lernin'. Perfectly normal, not sure I would have started him myself but I can absolutely see why Ten Hag did. Big mistake was not swapping he and Rashford round part way through that first half to give him a chance to get used to the RW. I think switching too late was let them get their 2nd goal.

The biggest issue with starting him was shunting rashford out right where he was considerably less effective. Thought he had a mixed game really but not one of the best displays. Inconsistency is yto be expected from a teenager.
The assumption is Rashford would have done better on the left. Well Garnacho is better on the ball and every time Rashford was pressed even in the middle of the pitch he lost the ball… and it’s not Like Rashie hasn’t had very good games on the right but fans will always use the what if.

Well, Rashford is a much better player so it isn't far fetched to believe he would be better on the left. especially with the form he is in.

Garnacho lost possession a lot yesterday; only Fernandes was dispossessed more times against Leeds.

I don't really understand your post.

The whole Garnacho debate right now is so strange.

The kid's been getting massive praise in the last few weeks and rightly so, he's exciting to watch and a constant threat. He then has one 'bad game', which in my opinion wasn't even bad and large chunks of the fan base demand he improves? Over reaction much? He's 18, he's playing first team football with Manchester United, he's getting goals and assists.....What more do people want? The fact it's even an issue right now is ridiculous.

I don't know if it's specific to our fan base or I just see it more but it's a constant theme. It's happened to Sancho, Shaw, Rashford, Bruno etc.

You can understand why some of these guys lose confidence and go through long draughts.

I agree completely, it's bizarre. The guy is 18 and already has quite a bit of maturity in him for someone his age. He's broken through quickly too - no one expected him to be close to a starter at the beginning of the season. His end product is fine. If you expect your 18 year old debut season player to turn in 8/10 performances every week, I'd find another hobby

Not our fan base, just the cafe and its quite frankly ridiculous.

Big fan of this player, I love that his natural instinct is to get the ball and try and take his defender on. It's good to have a variety of players in the squad. We know players like Antony and Sancho like to keep possession and typically stand the ball up and assess the situation, so having his raw attacking instinct is good. As he gets more experience, he'll learn when to slow it down when needed, and be a bit more selective.

Wow... we have some expectant fans here... we have players, with far more experience that Garnacho, who have been no-more than average for YEARS, and frequently utterly s***, yet they are still at the club.

Garnacho is young, v young, and has already had a major impact on our season. Game time will be so very good for him. And he does keep going.. consider when he scores (and he will..) how that will look, and feel.... the positive, in-play energy this player both attracts and transmits is fantastic, and v v much needed.

We were not great against Leeds, and guess what, it happens. He's playing a key role, in a forward line which is still, still finding its identity.

Love the kid, and I'm so pleased he is here. We need him this season, and that's not his fault.

For anyone who wants a good laugh…

It's the wrong debate. The question is what happens if he doesn't sign a deal and we go into this summer with him having two years left (one plus option) and we get a huge offer for him from say Atletico this summer, or Barca wants him after moving Fati or Torres and it covers half the De Jong fee.

Couldn't last the whole video. Guy is smoking that strong stuff. Time will tell how Garnachos career pans out but I think most united fans are very happy we have such a talented young player in our team and hope he commits his future to the club. The kid is obviously raw and needs refining and coaching, luckily for him we have ETH in charge now.

It is disgraceful that an 18yo youth player that has made his way into the first team is attracting so much criticism on here.
Half of the time I have seen him play he looks our most threatening player so spare a thought for the young man when we try and excuse the expensive imports that need to acclimatise to the pace and culture of the Premier League as at least they were playing against men.

Don't be so soft. Nobody is above criticism in life. It's all valid as long as it's not personally abusive

I don't think Garnacho is at the level of consistency and ability where players like Rashford and Bruno should be getting their postions sacrificed for him.

There’s also a case to be made for supporters actually being supportive. But nah don’t be soft, be a man or whatever the feck that video above is on about.
