I personally wouldn't if i was him. If he's got the right advisors around him, they'll tell him about the correlation between first team minutes and development.

There won't be any space for him here after this summer, apart from the occasional token minutes here and there.

That's not exactly set in stone. I'm still hoping Ronnie is off before the window closes. That would leave us with Martial up front and Rashford as backup, quite thin but manageable if the other players are contributing well, which you'd expect once they get up to speed with ETH's methods. Let's say we buy Antony, then him and Sancho cover the right, with Rashford and Sancho covering the left, but Rashford might also be needed up front. Instead of buying both Gapko and Antony, I'd roll with Antony and properly promote Garnacho.

We simply have to secure his long-term future here and ETH is not the type to ignore an obvious talent due to a young age, on the contrary.

How will there not be space? Rashfords contract runs out next summer and Martial is on more than last chance saloon. There will only be Sancho and Antony ahead of him, if Garnarcho is good enough, he'll make it.

seems like he should be our top priority on the youngsters. Cant imagine if someone wants to be at united they look at the squad and think theres not gonna be room for them to compete and get good playing time.

I’ve been worried about his playing time. Might be that he features in cup and Europa games but was hoping he would get small starts in epl games. Probably our performance so far also has been behind his absence but hope it changes

The kid looked so good in his last games. Hopefully will become the super sub winger this season.

Rather him than elanga

Yes. Fully agree. Although he may not be fully ready, I felt excited when he gets the ball, the kind of feeling when I watched the young CR7 played. Unfortunately i don't have that feel at all when Elanga has the ball. Not trying to hype Garnacho up but hope he gets some minutes to have the chance and prove himself.

Sancho will eventually have to rest and I'm hoping he starts. He stood out as the only one who looked ready among the young players. I think he has massive potential and is in his last year. Losing him will be something we will come to regret.

ETH mentioned him only having 1 year on his contract, wonder if that's why he's not playing as much

Free agent in January, in 4 months?

Doesn’t sound good, not signing the contract reminds me Angel Gomes (now disappeared from football and probably retired before the 24 yo)

Should get some minutes today as the only attacker on the bench (who runs)

I like the Antony signing but it also kind of signals he won't get much/any game time. Given that he only has a year left on his contract and refused to sign new one, he might walk on a free next summer.

I keep seeing people suggesting his contact expires in the summer but that’s false.

He signed his first professional contract with United last year.

His contract runs until 2025 however United are in negotiations with him to extend that on improved terms.

Thanks for clearing that up

That’s a relief to read that….I thought his contract was up at the end of this year.

I think he is a huge prospect on a similar level to our number 11….but obviously from the other flank…I really hope we start giving him some minutes soon….I presume Ten Hag wants to stabilize everything at the club before developing new talent but can’t wait to see him coming on against tired defenses and tearing it up..

Been in the squad every match this season. Surely he'll get a taste of action next Thursday. Any news on that new contract? Was in the news he'd be offered a new deal last July.

When he was actively playing every single game, and we were having a bad season, journalists always somehow knew of what players get up to behind the scenes. They knew which players are demanding change and who's holding the team together, and Maguire was also described as one of the more vocal and important figures to squad harmony.

The man's dropped. Where are those reports now? Where is captain fantastic? I wouldn't be surprised if this guy would leak stuff for positive press.
Uhm......either Garnacho has had a way different career arc than I thought, or this is the wrong thread.

Ah, that's nice. So plenty of media reports are wide off the mark then. And they've likely been basing their "European power house trying to tempt him away" on that misinformation too.

Yeah I’m pretty sure that’s accurate.

Transfermarkt do have it expiring next year so it does seem there’s been some confusion about it.

@Adnan may know the finer points but I don’t think there’s anything to worry about at all.

He signed his first professional contract at the age of 17, in July last year. And he actually confirmed that on his social media account at the time. And it was then reported in the media about the contact length being 4 years.

And it seems United are now wanting to tie him down beyond his contract expiry date of 2025.

I thought ETH confirmed he only had 1 year?

I remember when it was rumoured he was signing a new deal but for some reason there was doubt about it at the time, can't remember why? Were there reports at the hasn't actually signed it or something to cause these doubts?

Gotta give this guy minutes. I know people want to protect "the kids" but if you're good enough, you're old enough. He can't, absolutely cannot be worse than Rashford.

We're finding form at the moment. Bet if we're leading 3-4 goals in some games he will feature to impress.

Will be a shame if he didn't get the minutes and decide to leave.

We have a tendency in recent times to not make the most of our youth talent. Hoping Garnacho and Mjebri don't get added to that list. If he's genuinely a quality talent then we should prioritize him
