Television Alan Partridge-Funniest thing on tv

I thought it was pretty good. I also knew you'd post in this thread after I did.

 These just keep getting better and better.

Some absolute classics there. I love the way they flesh out the character by referencing older Partridge. His fascination with army/special forces tactics and name dropping of Bill Oddie were brilliant.

"He went spiralling off into the crowd like a bearded catherine wheel"

And that conversation with the little girl at the end. Brilliant.

That was a really good one!

Also, a guest appearance from Nigel Lindsay, who played Barry in Four Lions (and was also one of Dan's mates in the second series of I'm Alan Partridge, funnily enough).

This was my favourite one so far. Both conversations with the children were brilliant, I also liked the line where he describes a typical modern day bank holiday

They've got a few episodes of Knowing Me, Knowing You on bbc iPlayer if anyone fancies a listen.

Alan Partridge film to be 'pure Partridge' and set in the UK | Film & TV News | NME.COM

Filming of the forthcoming Alan Partridge film is set to start next year with it's eponymous hero staying put in the UK. It had been speculated that the fictional chat show host-turned-Radio Norwich DJ would end up crossing the pond to seek fame and fortune.

But speaking to Empire at the Cannes Film Festival, head of BBC Films Christine Langan put paid to those rumours. "It's Partridge as you know and love him. It's Partridge on home turf. We're not doing anything crazy or wild or exotic with him that would be out of character. It's absolutely pure Partridge."

Last month The Guardian reported that much of the shoot may in fact take place in the character's hometown of Norwich. The as-yet-untitled film will be written by Steve Coogan, Peter Baynham and Armando Iannucci. No director has been confirmed.

Steve Coogan can be seen later in the year in My Idiot Brother starring Paul Rudd and Zooey Deschanel. He is currently filming Good Vibrations with Michael Fassbender and Misfits star Robert Sheehan, the story of Terri Hooley, a Belfast record store owner responsible for bringing punk music to Ireland.

Now the funniest thing in the cinema as well.

I think my favourite Alan Partridge moment purely for the randomness of it was when he was walking down the side of a busy dual carriageway singing Goldfinger.

Is that true? I can't help feel that with the Fosters series only recently ending, any really good stuff would have been used there.

They missed a trick not releasing Bouncing Back in my opinion.

Yep, according to his twitter feed.

Aye, I think this book is probably a realisation that they did indeed miss a trick by not releasing it first time. I really do like the way they've sculpted the character in a completely believable way from his spots on On The Hour/The Day Today, to his tv/radio shows, his comic relief spots, rise and fall and subsequent rise again. It's genius.

As a character, they've had him spot on for years. Coogan knows exactly how to deliver almost every single word, genuinely top class comedy and comic actor.

I watched the farmer episode recently, it's just hilarious.
