Even back then when he was notching up assists most other teams fans didn't want him. Mentally weak doesn't work in the premier league.
Yeah he looks like he's given up. It feels like the Di Maria situation at United - player just counting the days until he can move on.

They took over a pub and sang about having Özil. Biggest victory of the night. Skip to 30 seconds for Troopz enjoying himself before the inevitable disaster.

That is amazing haha .. bloody love Troopz what a guy

To be fair to Ozil, when Ozil and Sanchez signed you'd have thought that there would have been an influx of similar players. Sometimes quality players want to be surrounded by quality players

All we need is Sanchez to give up now and they will be in absolute freefall.

Well they deserve it.. it makes me smile after every Arsenal game. One of the best things in football right now.

It is actually an entertaining channel unlike FullTimeDevils which is awful.

Actually, I have checked it out myself. I will certainly look to see the Neville video (Is he on a retainer from them??).

It is entertaining, a mix of football passion, good insights, a gentle style (Robbie Lyle is very good!) and underpinning it all, bathos.

I wonder if any of the Arsenal squad watch it?

But they brought us Andy Tate and Mr Bobbins. I will forever be thankful for that.

Also, Howson talking out of his arse is very entertaining. His comment about Petr Cech being mentally weak because he wears a protective helmet thing was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

I think Arsenal's fan-related media reflects their luvvie north london location. From Fever Pitch to Arsenal Fan Tv, their club may perpetually under-achieve but their fans generate the best content around. Arseblog is the best football blogger I've found and Alan Davies' podcast was essential listening until they got so sick of groundhog day broadcasts that they pulled the plug.

His body language in the last few weeks has been very frustrating. I'll be very surprised if he extends his contract. Let's hope that the inside little boy starts crying out

Oh Howson, he is one of the main reasons I don't watch that channel. Is there anyone on it that is even slightly likable?

But yes they definitely deserve credit for bringing us the likes of Andy Tate etc.

Because he was the same player, even at Real Madrid. Özil is a player who is great when everyone around him is playing good and when the team has it easy. In games where you trash your opponents, Özil excels and wraps up a ton of assists. But when it's tough he was never the player who can decide a close tie with his individual class and is usually the first player to go missing. He only looked better at Real because they are superior to Arsenal and therefore have much more easier games than them, they destroy their opposition pretty often (especially in those Pep/Jose days where Barca and Real got to 100 points) and gave Mesut a much better chance to shine. But even there he was always frustrating, inconsistent and usually shit in the big games. At Arsenal he is one of the main guys, they are not anywhere close to Real's level and therefore need to do much more to win their games every week. When they have their nice run and are beating other teams in an impressive way, Özil looks like their best player, but when it's over, he is again useless. I really don't think he has changed a lot as a player, it's just typically Özil and that's why I never rated him that high and can't agree on him beeing the best 10 in the world or Germany's best player.

He is kind of the "perfect Arsenal player", nice and flashy when everything is easy and the pressure is off, but falls apart when things are getting tough.

Ehh. I don't think it's that drastic with Ozil. I recall him playing particularly well under Jose off the right in big games. When Real went to the Camp Nou in 2012 and sealed the title, he was man of the match. But Jose made him work. He ran his ass off and won the ball back instead of lounging around like he does now. Of course, with Ronnie not doing his job defensively, he couldn't have 2 people standing around.

He seems to get free reign from Wenger to be a one-way player, which can't really happen playing off the front.

Didn't he also used to get subbed off a lot around the hour mark? I remember Mourinho saying something like he didn't have the stamina to play the full 90 minutes in the way Mourinho demanded of him. I think the way Ozil plays now is the way he prefers to play, and it makes him the very definition of a luxury player.

One thing I notice is that they severely overrate their squad. Their team is not good enough, it's not just the manager. There are many average players in there...

I really hope Wenger stays, but if he does go it'll be interesting to see whether there's a fallout like the one we had. They wouldn't know what to do.

Good old Champagne Charlie claimed this was the best Arsenal squad he has ever seen this morning.

Exactly. I mean just look at their side- Cech was great but is no longer that great as they say. Their CBs are good. Monreal was good but has grown old. Bellerin is good but not as good as Valencia, Azpi or maybe even Walker. Having pace =/= being great. Coquelin is inconsistent, Xhaka has disciplinary issues, Sanchez is the only one who gives a feck , Ozil NEVER performs in big games but they talk him up as if he is the greatest CAM in the world, Iwobi/ Walcott are just decent.
I want Wenger to stay, because I still feel he has one last big season left in him and I hope he wins the league once (in a season we completely mess up ofcourse).

Good job Jose doesn't do that to any united players ..

I think there would be, but ultimately it's what they need to do to progress as a club. It's going to happen at some point anyway, if I was an Arsenal fan I'd be crying out for a new manager to shake things up at Arsenal. It's just very, very stale and predictable, and it doesn't have to be. They have the resources to be better than this.

Every time I hear an Arsenal fan bemoan the lack of Danny Welbeck as the reason they're in poor form I get more and more hopeful of United making the top four.

No fecking team of any decency depends of the likes of that.

Love Arsenal fan tv. It is by far the best fan channel out there, surpassing Red Men Tv and Full Time devils both of which are tumescent.

I'm still subscribed to FTD but not watched a vid on there for god knows how long. Is Howson still on it? Genuinely must be the most annoying person I know of in the social media/youtube realm
