African Cup of Nations 2021 (played in 2022) | Final: Senegal v Egypt, 7 PM UK time

What a shit way to get knocked out. Pray we can muster something.

Lame red card but gotta get more than one shot on target in this half

Algeria just didn't turn up for the competition this year. It's crazy how they could be so dominant for three years running and then suddenly look lost and out of ideas practically overnight. They can't even blame it on injuries or absent players or anything of the sort. It's just strange.

They think they can win the world cup and wants to focus on it .

Tunisia were solid (as expected) but at the end of the day Nigeria did themselves in with the red card and the keeper error at the beginning of the second half.

At least Osihmen will be back for the WC qualifiers. But they'll need to have more of a threat in the middle for when Simon and Chukweze get doubled on the wings. Ndidi can't do it all alone.

With Osihmen, Dennis and Lookman you'll be a lot better.

Olise is another one although I think he's also eligible for Algeria, England and France. He could get picked up by England/France tbf.

We have a crop of good talent coming through... Should be interesting over the next few years to see how the group matures. The incoming coach is a big unknown though.

Another Nigerian forward to keep an eye on is Moffi, plays for Lorient in France.

Was thinking the same thing. Senegal have a similar issue.

If Eze can still be convinced, he’d be absolutely massive in terms of potentially solving that problem. Lookman is decent but he’s just another winger, of which Nigeria have a bunch of.

Total chaos before the Comoros game. Many covid absences and It seems like they can't field one of their goalkeepers in spite of a negative test today.

Earlier this morning. A negative test that seemed to allow Ahamada to take part.

And just now, he seems to be banned from entering the stadium based on his previous positive test:

I heard Comoros had 12+ positive tests.

Yes. Exactly, 12 positive cases including all their goalkeepers (1 is injured, the other 2 got positive tests). If it is confirmed that Ahamada won't be allowed to participate, then Comoros will have to play an outfield player in goal.

Commentators for AFCON are terrible on sky sports, they seem to be very naive, they're either buying dives, or saying clear fouls aren't fouls. They're basically describing everything the wrong way

I'm watching Gambia against Guinea........ Man it's hard work.

Is Keita injured? I'm assuming he isn't playing in goal for Guinea.

Guinea is out then also, now we need Senegal & Cote D'Ivore out also and it's a complete AFCON.

Burkina Faso might want to stick it out as long as possible:

So the Comoros GK is not being allowed to play (despite a negative test) which leaves Comoros with no GK so a centre back is starting for them in goals.

Got to support them in this situation. I think everyone who's not from Cameroon will be wanting an upset here.

Just to be a bit more specific the rules are a player has to have been covid negative for 5 days before being allowed to play according to CAF.

Somebody has gone into the wiki of the poor lad starting in goal and changed his height to 4 foot 11. :D

Who're favorites between Ivory Coast and Egypt? Seems like Egypt might lose that?

Definitely Ivory Coast, Egypt haven't impressed for a while now.

Ps. You'll definitely have Salah back by the end of the international break if that's what you're worried about.

Mane on the other hand...

It's gone from being the greatest underdog story ever to being the greatest match fixing swindle ever if Comoros win this now.

It might be an idea to stick 50p on them.

Just seen the lad is playing in the first choice keeper's shirt, with that name and number on, with his own number 3 haphazardly duct taped over it. :D

It's absolutely classic

Comoros player fouled, ref seems ready to blow. Tries to play an advantage that doesn't come, Cameroon allowed to counter attack.

Come on Comoros.
