To be fair to the previous manager. Haller and Adingra have missed the start of the tournament with injury. There were fitness concerns with Kessie too.
Zaha and Ivory Coast have had problems for a while, similar to Onana with Cameroon.

Well that’s a shit result - Ivory Coast wins and we get Niakhate back - If Senegal had won we get Sangare, Willy Boly and Serge Aurier back.
Ivory Coast has a clear route to the final. No big names in their half of the bracket.
Mali or Burkina Faso are solid teams. Ivory Coast has the home advantage though. If they make it past either... Clear path to the final

I'm now convinced this is the best AFCON I've watched to date. Ultra competitive, shocks galore and superb refereeing.
South Africa vs Morrocco should be a good game of fluid football. Won't be as easy as expected as South Africa aren't bad. Burkina Faso are also about evenly matched with Mali.
The refereeing in particular has been quite good especially in terms of the use of VAR. The female refs have also been quite good, which has been nice to see.
I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
