Adnan Januzaj

It's good to have an exciting young player to monitor and see if he lives up to his potential. Loved watching him today - great attitude and seemed to have no nerves.

He was injected with all kinds of growth hormones, not a level playing field, Januzaj is physically maturing naturally.

One day it will come out that he is in fact a genetic experiment by the Argentine government who fused the genetic code of Maradona with Batistuta's. Yet he turned out to be a midget and the Argentine government thought the experiment was a failure but Barca realized that this was nothing a few growth hormones couldn't fix. This way we ended up with with the perfect mix of a number 9 and a number 10, the false 9. *suddenclearityclarence.jpg*

Going from today's quotes and his attitude on the pitch, I think the work ethic is definitely there. It's great to hear that Moyes was thinking about starting him, that must give him such a lift.

There's a lot more to go in it than just today. I've never felt worried about Adnan, he is too gifted and has the right attitude to make it here. He's going to be an absolute star, I tell everyone I know about him, I've never talked so much about a youngster before I don't think.

Born 10 years to the day after Ronaldo. Made his debut 50 years to the day after Best. Next one to wear the number 7 shirt?

For sure, i just hope they hurry up with the long term contract, because if i see this one leave i'll go absolutely nuts !:nervous:

The last time we were like this was for Macheda...

Oh come off it with that talk. It is possible to recognise talents without comparing them to past players. Besides which, the last time we were like this was with Pogba.

The reaction to Januzaj today has been laughably over the top, in my opinion.

He has massive potential for everyone to see, but comparing today to Ronaldo's debut is a bit ridiculous. It also adds unnecessary pressure to the lad.

A great prospect, and hopefully the next in a rich line of academy graduates, but lets not get carried away.

There's nothing wrong about comparing it with Ronaldo's debut. It's not as if anybody's saying he WILL be another Ronaldo (because nobody has said that). Now that would be over the top and too carried away.

Maybe there's difference between you and me in terms of tolerating this kind of thing.

I need to buy shares in a Belgian footballer, they are the future. I must say I have enjoyed seeing Adnan on the right for the reserves of late, and for all his criticism, Young is certainly a better footballer than Antonio 'James Maclean' Valencia, so would prefer Adnan in his place.

Ideally Nani would just be our first choice right winger anyway.

The only reason not to compare him to Ronaldo's debut is.... nothing really. Januzaj was as impressive as Ronaldo was. If Januzaj turns out to be half as good, we'll be doing well.

Do you remember Ronaldo's debut? We were winning 1-0 when he was introduced with half an hour to go, the game finished 4-0, largely thanks to him.

Anyway, Januzaj has everything to become an absolute star for Manchester United.

Just lets not place too much weight on the kids shoulders yet...

I don't think we are. I just think that we hope that he will be better than ..... someday (sooner rather than later).

If we're talking debuts, then Macheda's debut was far better than both Ronaldo's and Januzaj's.

I know people here are eager to see the next Ronaldo, but I agree with Cunto. People need to calm down a little..

The boy shows a lot of potential, great debut for him, now give him time to grow in peace. He's still 18, let's not put him under immense pressure already..

And stop demanding that he starts every single game from now on. Just leave it to Moyes.

Cunto, meet GM. He discovered Januzaj don't you know? In fact, he delivered him at birth and knew there and then that he'd be a star.

Remarkably well composed for an 18 year old. Hope Moyes continues to give him a few cameos to allow him to get more confidence playing at "league speed".

Thought he looked top drawer. The match instantly became more entertaining with him on the pitch.

Why thank you, but I can't take the credit for his discovery. I've only been watching him in the last 12 months or so, I have a right to be excited that he's translating his reserve performances to first team level don't I? Nice attempt at humour, stick to haxball or whatever it is you do.

Of course he has it all to prove, but he's a lot more intelligent than any other youngster I've seen at our club.

Why, is he reading?

Yeah, Adnan obviously hasn't played in a high intensity match yet and it will be really interesting to see if he can up his tempo when he does get that kind of game. But I definitely agree that he should play in more games like this, but he doesn't need to be restricted to just cameos IMO, as long as he's selected for the right matches.

Why, is he reading?

 yeah that's what I think as we'll when these people make these type of comments.

This kid is going to go far. We have a world class player in the making if everything goes right. For everyone that is going OTT about him great! Nothing wrong with that. It doesn't take a genius to spot top talent plus us United fans have seen a lot.

Actually it wasn't. He scored the goal, which was obviously incredibly important, and had a few other nice moments, but I don't think there's anything in it to suggest it was far better than Januzaj's (or Ronaldo's.)

I would have preferred him playing on the right where he can cut inside and do more damage to teams in and outside the box

What I like about Adnan from the right is his ability to unlock the key cut back pass or whatever it is you call them.

It wasn't only about the importance of the goal. The goal was magnificent. You expect goals of such quality from RvP or Aguero, not from a teenager on his debut.

IMHO, as talented as Adnan is, he's nowhere near, say, C. Ronaldos' level at the same age. Fans tend to go OTT in regards to young talented players.

Comparing Macheda's debut with Januzaj or Ronaldo's is not proper in first place. Macheda came on when we are trailing 2-1, were in desperate need of goals for crucial 3 points, the bench was full of reserve players that day and he and Welbeck were only goal scoring choices to bring on. Getting those 2 goals was all we all were concerned about after Agbanlahor scored, and it didn't matter who did and how they did.

When Ronaldo made his debut, we were comfortable in the match, winning, it was first game of season and at home. For Januzaj's as well, it was somewhat similar yesterday, except the hype of Ronaldo's as he has been in our academy and we have seen him previously. Overall those two were 'no pressure' kind of debut.

Playwise, from what I remember Macheda was involved lesser compared to Ronaldo and Januzaj's debut but was in red hot form, having scored hat trick vs Newcastle in reserves game earlier in the week.
