Adnan Januzaj

It's funny seeing the opposition already assign 2/3 players to him whenever he's on the ball.

He needs to work a little on his upper body strength, seems to get knocked over a little too easy recently.

Unfortunately for him it gives the opinion that he is going down easy, and the away fans are howling like buffoons it starts getting into the refs head. I was worrying that the next time a defender takes him out he would end up getting sent off.

Once he matures though he won't get bullied so easy, and he will become more and more involved.

Love the lad even though he's on a quiet spell, all this will be beneficial in the coming years.

Aston Villa: Amazing in the first half and he was close for two goals
West Ham: Scored a goal
Hull: He changed our game.......i doubt we would've scored two goals in the 1st half without him.

A quiet spell? He scored the game before last.
Second half against villa he disappeared, Hull he started brightly but then was quite ineffective.

Trust me I love the guy as much as anybody else, I just feel he could be involved in the games more.

It's so hard to believe this was a little over a year ago! Even after all those brilliant moments the coaching staff were disappointed in his level of performance because they felt he could control games and he didn't show that. Hope he steers clear of injuries because he's improving so fast. The thing is within his development here I am pretty sure he's had a few long-ish term injuries already, I think it's pretty amazing how quickly he's taken to first team Football.

He's only 18 and played far more football then anyone could have expected. Youngsters are always prone to fluctuations in performance, to expect anything other then that is unrealistic.

After the 3-0 against Aston Villa........the whole team have relaxed 2-3 gears.

And like said he was fantastic in the 1st half against Hull.

A real bright spark in a season of few highlights thus far. He has so much to his game, it's always great watching a young player develop.

Are we sure he's not actually a 27-28 year old seasoned pro? He plays like someone with 300 games and a stack load of titles under his belt.

Pretty anonymous today. That skill from the corner was quality though.

Didn't see the ball really. Considering we were in shut down mode when he came on you can't blame him. The skill at the end was beautiful. He just ghosts past players.

Said that since his debut pretty much. He plays with more intelligence then most of the squad, and usually knows when to run with the ball or when to pick a simple pass, or when to hold it up well. That's what gives me confidence in saying that he'll become a world class player. People with his football intelligence in addition to his natural talent very rarely don't become stars.
Today he wasn't too involved, but we had no control really at that point and it was a scrappy game.

Even when he's on and he's not much involved, they're marking him carefully so it leaves some breathing space for other players to explot it.

What was he supposed to do? We barely had the ball after he came on. Instead his job description was pretty much defend our own area, not excactly his strong suit.

He is one of the most calm motherfecker in business. Surely he needs 20 on composure stat on FM. I don't think that I have ever seen an 18 years old player who is so calm when he receives the ball as Adnan.

It's impressive and it's one of the major element which leads me to believe with no uncertainty that he'll make it right to the top. All his other weaknesses can be worked on, but that's a characteristic that's inestimable and will help him throughout his career. Very impressive.

He'll be the best player in the league, comfortably, by the time he is 22.

He'll be playing in the hole by then, pulling the strings and controlling game while scoring 20 goals a season.

He's be an ideal "10" but that is Rooneys right now. 7 will do for a short while.

You couldn't be more wrong. He's pretty much tailor made for the 7 shirt here.

The way he weaves on the ball is reminiscent of a Giggs and Best. Leave the 7 for the new cocky shirt seller. Which is what are 7's are.

I couldn't care less who wears what number.

The 7 shirt holds a special significance at this club among others. The player with that number on his back is generally our best or most important player. He's certainly supposed to be the most inspirational and the mercurial talent. It's iconic and he's just the type of player to join that list.

Best
Robson
Cantona
Beckham
Ronaldo
Januzaj

It just fit's doesn't it.

I think people put too much significance to it, other great United players wore shirts other then the 7.

You forgot Steve Coppell, Irwhine.

Regardless if what you think it's still significant for the vast majority of United fans. Of course other great players wore other numbers but three of our greatest and most inspirational players of all time have wore 7. It was too much for Valencia and I think it will fit Adnan perfectly and propel him in the right direction.

I agree that he's a typical 7 for us, in that he gets people off their seats and can tie a team's performance together. I wouldn't mind seeing him in either, though. 11 is clearly an iconic number in that it belonged to the biggest icon of all if you take his entire career and achievements into consideration. Not to mention he moves quite like Giggs has, beating people with balance... I also think he's deceptively quick, he doesn't appear to have insane pace but is flowing past people.

Can't wait to see his coming years, Ronaldo wasn't this mature and this influential when he first came... Not in this playmaker-ish way. I sincerely hope he's honest in saying that all he wants is a long career here.

That's the exact problem though, it has a significance that increases the pressure unnecessarily on a player. I prefer the US basketball way of retiring the shirts of legendary players, stops all this and honours the best players too.
