Adnan Januzaj

He could have been pointing at Young. So talented he gets to select who later replaces him in the match. There's a buzz around the player. He's so diverse. He can run at you, at speed, with the ball under control. He can deliver a Beckham-esque cross from a standing position on the wing. He can cut inside and spray the ball around, get stuck in, track back. His vision, passing, confidence, speed - already make him a top player. His development over next 2-3 years should be scary.

Same here, I was expecting him to go to Moyes. Then nothing really happened when he got there.

This happened

Yeah the celebration was a bit anti climatic. Thought it was going to be like a big team bonding moment with moyes and all, but then he just kind of ran back to his position. Oh well.
Great goal though, he's been a bit unlucky lately with his shots this season, should probably have a few more goals to his name to be honest. What a talent though.

Awesome player, has everything needed to be a massive str for us, but stop the diving you soppy tart!

Dive was poor but who was your man who went in OTT on Hernandez which should have been a red. Priorities are fecked when someone diving for what would have been a nothing free-kick in middle of the park gets all the attention yet a studs-up lunge above the ankle is getting as much coverage as if Giggs just took out a fecking super injunction on it

A viable theory. Also explains how Young scored his goal - Januzaj passed on some of his own ability.

Neat caption.

Through that graphic filter looks almost like taller Michael Owen... or I just need glasses.

Moyes on Januzaj's booking for simulation: "He has taken more tackles than any other player. We will talk to him about it"

Bit of a catch-22 for Janujaz - he is getting kicked a lot right now and seemingly not getting protected by the refs, so maybe has in his mind he needs to go down easily to get calls. What I hope Moyes tells him the way he gets up each time and gets on with it is the only way forward, at some point the refs will start correctly protecting him like they should. If he continues to try take matters into his own hands, that it could end up being to the detriment of the team in that won't get calls he should be getting. Unfortunately, the media will make a big deal about even the occasional simulation by him because he is a player with unlimited potential playing for the biggest club in the world. Show him the reports/analysis of the game and every one of them will mention his dive but, the potential leg breaking tackle on Hernandez is barely given any ink even though that's a far more serious matter - all because the player that did it is some little known player playing for a smaller club.

George McCartney, the bellend

Forgive him the dive..Shit happens, plus he gets an awful not of abusive tackles.

Dare I say it, he's better then Ronaldo when he was at this age..This lad could be in the Messi/Ronaldo bracket....We'll be lucky to keep hold of him

Sunday Supplement having a go at Januzaj's diving now. Pathetic, no words on how good he was yesterday, all talk is about his diving.

This diving rubbish is such a witch hunt, as if no other player has ever been booked for diving (and it wasn't even in the box).

Brilliant mature performance from him yesterday. Some good deliveries into the box that should have resulted in assists had his fellow forwards been more switched on rather than letting the ball run across the face of goal for instance, and he scored a great goal to cap a good day off. His development is my highlight of the season so far after watching him through the youth ranks to now see him doing it on the biggest stage it's great. Proud to support a club who believes in bringing youth through.

I just hope our other kids are watching and being inspired. All ideas about, 'can he do it and should he go on loan' - gone after 5+ games. Why? Cause he was good enough. All it takes is being given a chance and winning peoples confidence. You see the likes of powell etc, who is older and why shouldn't he be ready? At for people talking about diving etc, that's very charitable of them. I guess it pays more to be a miserable bastard :)

I think it is a bit petty to focus on the diving when there were other more contentious issues from the match (like that tackle on Hernandez) but if the scrutiny helps to eradicate it from his game it will actually be a good thing. Also shows how much his star has risen for the press to be giving him so much attention.

This is courtesy of CrypticClash (why has he not been promoted yet?!)

Because being good at making gifs alone doesn't constitute a good poster and if he perhaps spent less time making gifs and more time talking about football, he might be promoted already.

Cheers for the gifs though, newbie.

Jeez, it was barely a dive. Almost nothing on the boy's very persuasive penalty appeal or on Hernandez getting mowed down. The Telegraph's headline for the whole match report was something like 'Januzaj the villain of the piece' and now it's been slightly softened to 'Januzaj the hero and villain.' Neither exactly representative of the real talking points of the match.

Bit over the top, you've hardly watched him through youth ranks because he's only been here since 2011, he'd only been here just over a year when SAF put him in the first team. Unless of course you have a keen interest in Anderlecht's youth team.

We only really get the U18s and U21s games on MUTV anyway which it what I was talking about. Not watching him as a child for years and years.

Any reason for being extra grumpy today?
