Adnan Januzaj

Adnan Januzday returns. Great news on the contract, played well again. Lovely ball before the goal and doing all the right things to stay in the side

Doing well but I think if he could receive the ball a little deeper and face the defender he will have a better time of it. So far he is receiving the ball with a man up his ass and facing backwards.

Doing well enough though.

Totally agree we sit far too deep, I can understand this with Vidic and Rio but not with Jones and Evans. We don't win back possession until a team does something wrong. Plus our build up play through the centre midfield is garbage. Worrying times for us if it carries on like this.

We should try a match with Januzaj in Rooneys position and watch him pull all the strings.

Was pretty good today again. Tired as the match went on, predictably. Some brilliant passes though.

Strong case for him to play a more central role. If Moyes doesn't trust kagawa then why not AJ in the middle?

I think he's thriving where he is to be honest. There's naturally a little more room out wide so it's a good area for him to learn his trade.

I think he is capable of actually being able to go through the middle and taking on the defenders. In spite of his stature, he is strong, fast, motivated, knows how to dribble and he has confidence. Could be the next George Best in the making. I personally think he is better than what Rooney was at the same age.

It's funny you should say that. I was thinking about it earlier and I reckon he could potentially grow into a player that has the same importance that Cantona used to have. He definitely has it in his locker to become truly special, and his dad keeps him grounded which is a good thing.

Very strange, I was just pondering over how good he could be for us and Cryuff came into my mind. He definitely has the ability anyway.

Hold your horses there. Yes, we all love him but let's not become delusional. Cruyff is one of the greatest players of all time and very likely better than any player who has ever played for United, so no point in this comparison.

Have you ever seen cruyff play? He's very likely in the top 5 of all time.
Edwards died sadly when he was 21 years old so with him it will always been what could have been. Best was brilliant obviously, but from what I've heard from people of various ages and various club allegiances, wasn't as good as cruyff is the general opinion. I think only united fans would tell you otherwise. Robson and scholes aren't anywhere close to him, as good as they were.

It really depends on what you are measuring it on. Cruyff was obviously a one in a generation footballer and unstoppable on his day with several other qualities but Best wasn't really far behind specially when you talk of the peak. Cruyff contribution to football goes far far more than his playing days. The Dream Team, La Masia and what not and Best obviously did not have any of that and declined rather abruptly. However it's not incorrect to put them on the same pedestal as players. The courage Best showed against defenders kicking him all around and still pull off the things he did was remarkable. That performance at the Stadium on Light among many. If there's one player who played for us in that bracket it is Best. Rest of the name I agree don't get much near.

Are you sure it's not just his appearance? :D

But yeah, it does resemble in a way. In terms of styles that is. His dribbling and passing is a tad reminiscent of Johan and hopefully he'l be doing it regularly in the coming days.

Was great to see the news he had signed the new contract.

Have only managed to watch highlights of the game, but he made some great through balls to create chances. Hopefully we keep playing him, one of the bright points of this season so far.

Is there any other ?

Surprisingly you didn't put in Sir Bobby but in all honesty none of those you listed are as good as Cruyff. Best on his best day perhaps, but even then I still doubt it. Cruyff was the best player on one of the best club and national sides ever says it all. Ajax dominated Europe and he should have won a world cup with the Netherlands team. That is a stellar list but Scholes and Robson should be nowhere near Cruyff in a discussion.

Lovely pass to Rooney that led to the goal. My biggest bugbear is that he (and Nani) appeared to have been told to stay out wide when there was space to be exploited in the middle between the CMs and the strikers because Rooney was so high.
