Actor Heath ledger dead

This is kind of weird. Right now it looks like sleeping pills, they found sleeping pill(s) bottles around him, he was naked in bed.

There was an interview he gave awhile back in which he said he was having issues sleeping and having problems with the persona of the Joker leaving him physically and emotionally drained. He said he was getting an hour or so sleep per night and that was with the aid of Ambien.

Sounds to me it was probably accidental and he was upping the ante by taking more and more pills to sleep. Perhaps he became addicted to them while he used them to sleep while he was shooting. Maybe he wasn't able to get over the toll the role took on him.

Very strange and sad. He seemed like a genuinely good guy in an industry where so many of them are walking talking penises.

I still cant believe such a talent is gone and he was one of the quiet one's. To leave his little girl something really bad must have happened before hand for him to do it.

In complete shock. Just posted his pic as Joker in the 'best villain' thread the other day. I think everyone on here was looking forward to the movie.

RIP Heath !! You will be missed.

Didnt' like him much as an actor.

But, my thoughts are with him.

RIP

From all accounts, The Dark Knight was done filming and is in "post-production." There are a TON of creepy pics and soundbites from Ledger as the Joker. WOnder if Warner Bros will remove some of those now.

Just jumped on the internet and saw all the reports. Gutted. Really liked Heath, one of my favourite up-and-coming actors.

He really had the world at his feet. Young, good looking and liked to take 'different' and darker roles that was starting to set him apart from most of his peers.

:(

RIP Heath and commiserations to his family.

So fecked.

Was a genuinely nice bloke who just hated being a celebrity. I had the pleasure of meeting him once and you couldn't meet a more average Australian bloke than him.

RIP and thoughts are with his family and little girl.

He had a certain moxy on the screen, was no Jack but was a great replacement for the Joker, sad that it led to his death, but there certainly had to be far bigger problems

Its a real pity he's gone. He had turned into one of the best actors around.... say what you want he was brilliant in Brokeback Mountain, and he seemed to have the balls to take fairly risky roles and make them his own.

I've seen a few clips of the Batman movie and he looks awesome in it. Not an easy thing to do when you're playing such a well known character, but again it looks like he's made the Joker his own and I think would've really catapulted him to another level...

Its really really sad he's died considering the talent he had also the fact that he leaves behind a little girl..

Just read that Fred Phelps' WBC plans to picket his funeral because of Brokeback Mountain. What a bunch of cnuts.

Hope the movie isn't delayed.

Well there was an interview on GMTV this morning with that girl Carla who's based out in LA and she said that Heath had actually completed filming on the new Batman movie, I really hope he's kept in it then because it would be a fitting tribute to a fantastic actor :)

Batman is finished.. finished filming ages ago.... from what I've heard and seen he's awesome in it... Tipped to be a massive boost to his career....

What a shame, i didnt realise he was so young either, if you compare him to the likes of Depp etc... A Knights Tale is a great film, looking forward to batman

This is unbelievably sad news.

Those working on the Dark Knight have been telling BOF (Batman on Film) since last summer that Heath is going to completely blow people away with his performance as the joker. An oscar nomination has even been talked about.

This was the role that was going to turn him into a major major superstar.

My best wishes go to his family. Especially his 2 year old daughter who will now grow up without her father in her life.

As a huge Batman fan i'm highly anticipating The Dark Knight this summer. Chris Nolan and his crew are currently in Post production on the film. How must they be feeling right now, having to edit through hours of Heath Footage knowing he's dead?

Rest in Peace Heath.

Saw some pamphlets of it around the net. Brokeback was their motivation for the picket though. What if his funeral is in Australia. Will those feckers fly down and picket still??

I think you'll find they only occupy the high moral ground close to home.

But seeing that the wife and kid is in the US, the funeral might just be there. And those cnuts will picket.

I hardly watched his movies but damn he was still young.

He left a two years old kid and his wife Michelle williams (Dawsons Creek)

Was she in a lead role in that newspaper sitcom based in Miami? That show lasted about one season, if that, but had some funny moments. It starred the guy that played one of Vince Vaughn's brothers in The Breakup.

BTW, I heard on NBC Nightline News that the couple were separated.

Pretty upset about it. I thought he was a good actor, but when I saw the new trailer for TDK, my first thought was "Holy Shit!". The way he says "Why so serious?" and the other lines were shocking, and totally not the type of acting I thought he could do. He will be missed, and hopefully TDK will do him justice.

I have heard he had pneumonia and was taking meds in addition to sleeping pills... any truth in this?

I heard this as well, and he was also on anti-depressants. His friends say he had done heroin in the past but that he was clean now. Sad to see them go at such a young age.

In the interview I posted (video) he said he had completed Batman and refused to say anything else about the role, wait and see he said

No need to worry Heath's role as the joker is pivotal to the movie and thus cannot be cut.

His performance in this movie will make him a legend amongst Batman fans i guarantee you.

hope this isnt a poor attempt at a joke

It is rather poor isn't it? Its already been sent to me by half a dozen people. Its not the worst joke in the world though...

I wonder if that hate group is going to try and come down here for the funeral. They would get hammered if they went anywhere near Perth I would hope.
