Academy players on international duty

Biancheri scoring has become a regular thing of late. Hope he keeps going and maybe see him getting minutes one day in the first team.

Chido Obi-Martin started and scored against Finland U18s today in a 1-2 defeat.

He played the last 30 minutes against Finland on Wednesday.

Jayden Ngwashi played 62 minutes and Bendito Mantato 15 minutes as England U17s drew 1-1 with Belgium.

Samuel Lusale starts (#7) for Slovakia U18s vs Romania U18s.

Wheatley starts for England U19s against Bulgaria, 12:30 kick-off.

66 minutes for Mantato and 23 minutes for Ngwashi as England U17s lost 1-2 to Belgium.

Weird that Ngwashi gets called up for u17 but isn't playing for u18 whereas the likes of Kukonki and Armer don't get called up for u17 and are regulars in our teams.

Jack Fletcher played the last ~25 minutes for England U18s who lost 0-1 to Germany.

Could be that the FA are doing this to try to convince him to choose England over Italy. But yeah I’m surprised if Munro and Kukonki don’t get England call-ups soon. Armer could opt for Scotland too.

Munro and Armer are older so aren’t eligible for u17s, Munro is in the u19s cycle now.

Yeah not saying he could be in the same squad as Ngwashi, but in his own age group. He’s been simply put amazing this season. Then again all England age groups are full of very good players.

Could be but I think considering the fact that we've been dominant in the league for the last fifteen months or so, our representation in the England youth teams is quite less.

James Scanlon got knocked about a bit in a physical game vs Moldova where the visitors had 6 players booked and one sent off. He made a few nice runs forward, had an effort cleared off the line and also won a penalty in the 1-1 draw.

But I think these physical games will help him, because in the U18s games - aside from the odd leg-breaker from certain idiots - defenders are a bit more standoffish and give attackers a bit more room to run. In these internationals, if you try to make a run into space a defender will just charge in from behind and clatter into you for the tactical foul if they have to. Scanlon's teammate Tjay De Barr has used it to his advantage and turned winning free-kicks into something of an artform.

Douka Nkoto is also in that England U15 squad. Presumably Bassirou will also attend one of the camps as well.

As expected, Bassirou will attend England U15 camp #2 which is next weekend.

Thailand have confirmed that Silva Mexes will represent them at the upcoming U17 Asian Cup in March. It's a '08 competition, so he will be playing two years up, and it serves as a qualifier for the World Cup later in the year.

Also appears that JJ Gabriel has been selected for the first England U15 fixtures of the new cycle, which are against Turkey next month. Not 100% sure though.

JJ Gabriel is indeed in the upcoming England U15 squad. As is Douka Nkoto..

Is the full squad anywhere? There's another Thailand eligible player I know of who has, until now, been representing Gibraltar but I know his older brother switched to Thailand U20s last year.

Not yet, they only specifically mentioned Silva and then another kid who's at Forest. Nothing on Turrell, who I assume you're talking about.

Would think, as he's at Leicester, they'd mention him if he was called up so seems unlikely. Never mind he'll be in between the Scanlon brothers in the Gib midfield in 5 years.

Godwill Kukonki & Jayden Ngwashi named in the England U17 squad for friendlies against The Netherlands. First international call-up for Kukonki.

Looking at the rest of the squad it looks like he's viewed as a LB rather than a CB.

Joe Deighton started for Wales U15s today in a 4-0 loss against France.

JJ with England U15s.

Gibraltar U16s going to a development tournament next week - no squad news yet but good chance Luca Scanlon is involved.

Kukonki and Ngwashi both start against Netherlands U17s. Kickoff 18:00 GMT.

Thought Ngwashi played really well, only blip was a pretty bad tackle that got him booked and forced the Dutch player off. Kukonki was good on the ball but a bit suspect defensively.
